Death… And Me

Chapter 3570: Behind?

Elsie felt her core growing cold! ”Why are you starting a fight with everyone?!

Kentucky, who was still moving his butt right and left to everyone there, explained. ”They all kept seeing us as nothing more than ants they could squash at any moment. Yet, who got to the other side first? Us! It’s time for the Great Kentucky to put them in their places! They can kiss my ass! Hahaha!”

”Hahaha!” Rean laughed out loud, patting Kentucky on the side. ”Alright, alright. I can’t see their faces from here, but I’m sure they are already fuming. That should be enough.”

”You can’t see their faces, but I can!” Kentucky stopped and turned around, using his much better eyesight to see all the way to the other side. Sure enough, there were plenty of experts gritting their teeth. That wasn’t how it was supposed to happen. They should have been the ones to get to this side first! ”Yeap, they are losing their minds. Hahaha!”

”Enough with bullshit,” Roan finally intervened... although he had to admit he didn’t mind what the dumb bird did. The experts on the other side are probably thinking they have some special ability that allowed them to cross, and they were right. But, above all, they all still thought they could get rid of the twins’ group easily if they could reach them, and nothing made Roan happier than an enemy that underestimated him.

Then, Roan looked upwards. There was no lakeshore on this side, just an enormous precipice and the seven waterfalls. If they wanted to go up, they would need to climb almost a hundred kilometers. It was quite hard to see the top from here.

”Errr... guys,” Kentucky suddenly spoke. ”Suddenly, there are a lot more people with bottles of the purple liquid on the other side.”

Roan nodded slightly. ”That’s to be expected. It’s one thing if no one can traverse the lake while some hide their bottles of purple liquid. They actually might be able to use it sooner or later for something else, and most who still had them wouldn’t bring the bottles out for this very reason. They were all waiting to see if someone found some other way of crossing or waiting for more experts to use their bottles of purple liquid instead of using their own. Now that we’ve gotten to the other side, even those hiding their bottles can’t do it anymore. They must cross before we take what they want. Don’t forget what is at stake here.”

Kentucky’s mouth twitched. He was betting on the fact that no one would be able to cross the lake for a while. Yet, just judging by the amount of purple liquid being thrown into the lake, it wouldn’t take long at all before the lake was clean enough for even them to get through. ”Ahem... so, where to now? Shall we climb?”

Roan and the others looked at Elsie. Since she seemed to know a few things about this place, perhaps she knew where to go.

”I’m not sure if climbing is possible. Instead, it is probably the waterfalls. Did you see that each has a different color, just like the colors of the universes? Since our color is green, I think we should check the Green Waterfall first,” Elsie explained.

No one had any complaints, especially since the Green Waterfall was quite close and they didn’t need to cross other waterfalls on the way. They jumped from rock to rock, avoiding the lake below and moving as fast as they could. The lake wouldn’t be able to hold the experts on the other side forever, but they should still have a few tens of minutes at the very least.

Once by the Green Waterfall, they tried to use their Divine Senses to see behind it. Perhaps there was a tunnel of some shit like that that required them to go through the waterfall. Yet, nothing more than rocks could be seen as far as their Divine Senses could go.

”Is the Waterfall’s water also like the water in the lake?” Kentucky asked. Because they were very close to the Green Waterfall, they were being hit by a lot of mist droplets. Yet, Kentucky couldn’t feel anything wrong with his body. He tried it out, releasing his Divine Energy Barrier and letting some fall on his feathers, but everything looked just fine. If anything, the sensation of the Green Waterfall gave him was quite comfortable.

”It’s the mix of the seven waterfall waters that causes the lake to have that corrupting and poisonous power,” Roan said. ”Otherwise, we would already be feeling the effects and would have turned around.”

”Alright, but what now? Do we climb?” Rifindio asked too.

Elsie nodded. ”I asked to come here to check, but it doesn’t seem like there is anything-”

”Wait!” Suddenly, Rean stopped them. ”It doesn’t really need to be behind it.”

”What are you talking about?” Everyone turned in his direction.

Yet, Rean didn’t answer. ”Wait a moment.” Then, he activated his Purification Skill and jumped into the water.

Rean disappeared for a few minutes, but Roan knew he was fine through their connection. Finally, Roan’s eyes lit up, and he grabbed both Celis and Elsie. ”Let’s go.”

Kentucky followed suit, bringing Rifindio with him.

The space right under the waterfall was quite deep. In fact, several kilometers deep. It was even hard to see. But be it because of the Purple Liquid or because of the waterfall itself, the corrupting power of the lake wasn’t as strong in that part.

After arriving at the bottom, Roan turned in a different direction, and everyone followed, still making use of Roan and Kentucky’s Purification. By now, they all understood. There was a cave entrance underwater and under the waterfall. Roan used some of Rean’s Light Element, illuminating the entrance. Rean was right in front of it, and they joined him.

’Have you found anything inside?’ Roan asked through Divine Sense so everyone could hear.

Rean shook his head, though. ’Divine Sense can’t penetrate it. I haven’t entered to check either. Shall we go?’

Roan nodded, and they moved inside.

Meanwhile, back on the other side of the lake, someone threw another expert inside the lake to check its corruption power. The guy quickly ran out, using his Divine Energy to fight back. Surprisingly, he managed to do it on his own, sighing in relief. He wanted to curse the person who threw him there, but he didn’t dare to. He was just too weak.

”It seems passable,” someone said.

*Splash!*

Others didn’t even wait. Since a Space-Time Realm expert was able to fight against the lake’s power, let alone the Divinity Realm ones. Soon, everyone began to jump into the lake, starting to cross it as well. A lot of them had two objectives in mind: finding more about the Celestial Realm breakthrough... and skewering a certain bird.
