The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2471: Chapter 2471: Du Man Gave Birth (Part 3)

”Madam, what are you talking about?” Du Chengxiu’s face turned red for a moment, ”We are an old couple now, not sticky anymore, rest assured. I will start the journey tomorrow and make sure everything is done.” He then turned around to pack his things and bid farewell to his wife.

Beijing, Palace, Kangshou Palace.

Empress Dowager Dexian held the wine glass, smelled it first, then slowly took a sip and nodded, ”Not bad.” She gestured to the table, ”You all have a glass too.”

Aunt Hong Ye hurriedly poured a glass of red wine and handed it to Nanny Zhuo, ”Nanny Zhuo, Madam Ruyi did say that regularly drinking this wine can beautify and maintain one’s appearance.”

”Oh my!” Nanny Zhuo smiled, ”My old skin, what’s there to beautify?”

”That’s not right,” the Empress Dowager shook her head, ”Women, no matter when, should remain beautiful, haha, yes, this is also what Xinxin said.”

Nanny Zhuo followed with a laugh, then took a sip but frowned, ”Empress Dowager, this taste is strange, this old servant cannot get used to it.”

”If you can’t get used to it, save it for me,” the Empress Dowager laughed, then drank the wine in her glass and looked at Hong Ye, ”That girl wants to get me to invest, how much silver is needed?” The investment in the hotpot restaurant had already been recouped, after the New Year, there were dividends of thousands of taels of silver every month, this wine will definitely generate even more in the future.

”This is the contract prepared by Madam Ruyi.”

The Empress Dowager took a look at it, ”That girl is thoughtful, having given the silver to invest, I can comfortably receive the dividends.” She then signaled Nanny Zhuo to retrieve the silver, suddenly remembering something, ”That girl is probably about to give birth, right? While you’re at it, bring the box of purple sandalwood from my storage room.”

Very soon, Nanny Zhuo came out carrying the silver note along with the box.

”What’s in the box is a gift from me to the soon-to-be-born child,” the Empress Dowager smiled, ”Tell that girl to come to the palace to thank me after the child is born.”

”Yes.” Hong Ye quickly accepted the silver note and the box, then paid respects and left the palace.

Entering June, thunderstorms became more frequent, the water in Xiaocang River clearly rose, but it was still within the normal range. This year was considered a year of good weather and favorable rainfall.

After getting pregnant, Du Man did not have much reaction. Approaching the due date, there was not even much movement.

That day, Du Man had just woken up from a nap, when suddenly there was a loud thunder outside. Perhaps startled, her belly started to hurt, and then she saw blood.

Luckily, preparations had been made earlier. Shangguan Fei immediately sent her to the prepared birthing room, notified his mother-in-law, and brought in the midwife.

The midwife from the town was quite familiar with Wang Zhenggang; she had good skills and a good reputation. Just yesterday, Yang Ruxin had brought her to stay, unexpectedly she was needed today.

However, enviably, although it was Du Man’s first child, the delivery was very smooth; from the start to the birth, it only took about two hours.

”Congratulations, it’s a boy!” The midwife was the first to come out and congratulate the people waiting outside.

Shangguan Fei excitedly knelt directly on the ground, kowtowing three times towards the sky, ”Father, Mother, the Shangguan family has an heir.” Then he got up and ran into the house, not even glancing at his son.

”Don’t cause trouble!” But he was stopped by his mother-in-law, ”Xiaoman is tidying up now; it’s not appropriate for you to go inside.”

”Mother, I just want to see my wife.”
