The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2386: Chapter 2386: Destroying the Shen Family (2)

Emperor Xuanjing, upon seeing those promissory notes, immediately flew into a rage: ”Outrageous!” he said, hurling the notes toward Tian Zhi.

Tian Zhi’s face had already turned ashen; he knew there was no escape for him today. Yet, people are like this; facing death, they still grasp at any straw. So, he hastily looked toward Shen Wanxing: ”Minister Shen, you said I could delay for a month, you said...”

”Nonsense, when did I ever say such a thing could be delayed?” Shen Wanxing was sweating profusely. How could this happen? But he dared not admit anything at this moment.

The other ministers dared not utter a word; this was about military funds, money meant for the lives of those soldiers fighting hard. Similarly, embezzling this was a sure death sentence.

Emperor Xuanjing took a deep breath: ”Tian Zhi shall be executed immediately. Shen Wanxing, for dereliction of duty, shall be temporarily imprisoned, pending further judgment.”

Immediately, personal guards stepped forward to remove Shen Wanxing’s official cap, and amidst his pleas, he was dragged away.

”Quickly send a message to Gu Qingheng, saying that each person will receive an additional tael of silver this month, which will be delivered together during this month.” Emperor Xuanjing glanced at Eunuch Ping, ”Make it urgent.”

Eunuch Ping nodded and then turned to send the message.

”Father.” Qi Jingyi stepped forward again and saluted, ”Your son is willing to serve as the imperial envoy to personally escort the military funds to the front lines.”

”Father.” At this moment, the Tenth Prince Qi Jingrong also came forward and knelt, ”Your son is also willing to go to the front lines with the Eighth Brother, to campaign against Nanzhao and the Flame Sect, to rescue the Third Brother.”

”Approved.” Emperor Xuanjing waved his hand, ”I command you both to escort the military funds to Dian City, to assist Gu Qingheng in resisting the enemy, and depart immediately.”

Inside the study at the Crown Prince Residence.

”That Shen Wanxing is truly worthless.” Qi Jingyi slapped the table, ”Brother Crown Prince, we can’t let him come out again this time.”

”Sit down properly.” Qi Jingchen took a sip of tea, glanced lightly, ”At your age, how are you still so rash?”

Qi Jingyi pursed his lips but indeed settled down.

”This matter isn’t so simple.” The Crown Prince sighed, ”Shen Wanxing has managed it for so many years, with a complex network of relations. If the grass isn’t removed by the roots, it will be very troublesome. Therefore, to completely eradicate him, we must be prudent and have conclusive evidence, and this evidence must be fatal.”

Qi Jingyi sighed; it was true. Shen Wanxing could currently only be considered derelict in duty, not enough for beheading. Although no one was pleading for him now, someone would definitely come forward later.

”Shen Wanxing is from Baihua County.” The Crown Prince suddenly looked up at Qi Jingyi.

Qi Jingyi’s eyes lit up: ”Yes, the Shen Family has a Baiwei Restaurant in Lianhua Town, now managed by his brother Shen Wanyin. Currently, his parents also reside in the old Shen Family house.” Suddenly, he sneered, ”The reason Shen Wanxing targeted Gu Qingheng was that Yang Ruxin previously offended the Shen Family.”

”So, if Xinxin learns about this matter, what do you think will happen?” The Crown Prince spoke casually, but his tone was quite suggestive.

”Haha, Xinxin probably already knows. I bet she can bring down the Shen Family. Let me tell you, last time, Shen Wenbi from the Shen Family was drugged by Xinxin, and then...” Remembering this, Qi Jingyi felt satisfied, ”I’ll go inform Xinxin right away.” Gu Qingheng might hide it from her, ”Then she can collect the Shen Family’s criminal evidence from up close.” Even if the Shen Family is truly innocent, based on Shen Wanxing’s current actions, they can make them guilty.
