The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1793: Chapter 1793: Pinky Promise (2)

”Of course.” Du Juan nodded, ”If you don’t believe me, let’s make a pinky promise.” She extended her hand.

The little boy really made a pinky promise with Du Juan: ”My grandfather said that people must keep their promises.”

”Yes, those who don’t keep promises are little dogs.”

Feifei then laughed, obediently returned to the woman’s side, and even said ”sorry” to the madam, no longer causing a fuss.

Seeing this, Du Juan also returned to Yang Ruxin’s side.

The woman didn’t take it to heart, but since others calmed her son down, she sent her personal maid over to thank Yang Ruxin out of politeness, and introduced herself as someone from the Gao Family.

Since Yang Ruxin was dressed as a man, this was also to avoid suspicion.

But judging from the woman’s clothing, speech, and the boy’s behavior, they should be from a prominent family, and among the prominent families surnamed Gao in Beijing, the most notable is the Duke’s Residence of Honor. So this woman should be the Princely Heir’s wife of the Duke’s Residence of Honor, Yan Yuyu, and this little boy named Feifei should be the eldest grandson of the Duke, Gao Fei.

However, at the moment, Yang Ruxin had no time to cultivate connections, as she was thinking about making money, so she got up and walked out to discuss with Qi Jingyi.

She wouldn’t stay in Beijing for long, so matters here still needed to be handed over to Qi Jingyi. Her idea was to make dolls of the characters from those stories for sale. She would provide the designs, but the embroidery, venue, and sales had to be handled by the Eighth Prince.

From behind came Gao Fei’s voice: ”Mother, is what she said true?” Although they made a pinky promise, the little boy was still a bit unsure.

”She promised, so it must be true.” Yan Yuyu comforted her son, but on the other hand signaled someone to investigate Yang Ruxin’s background.

Yang Ruxin met Du Yunpeng at the door.

”Madam, that carriage belongs to the Cui Family of the Duke of Peace.”

Yang Ruxin’s eyes narrowed slightly, encountering two dukes in one fell swoop.

After the founding of the Great Xuan Dynasty, Emperor Gaozu conferred titles upon four major dukes: the Wei Family, Cui Family, Gao Family, and Shen Family.

These four families were brave in battle and established great achievements alongside Emperor Gaozu, so before Emperor Gaozu passed away, he left an imperial edict stating that as long as the descendants of the great dukes did not commit the ten major unpardonable crimes such as treason, rebellion, arson, and looting, their titles would be hereditary forever without decrease.

This Duke of Peace family is renowned for their loyalty and devotion; the old Duke and the former princely heir both died in battle, and the current Duke Cui Wei was the youngest son, who grew up with the current Emperor as his study companion and now holds the military power of the West Great Camp.

It’s said that the old matriarch of the Cui Family, Madam Fou, was a heroine who was not inferior to men, being bold and skillful with weapons from a young age; even the Emperor would show her respect.

However, the gaze from the carriage earlier, though unclear who it was, was definitely not friendly. But shouldn’t there be no contact between her family and the Duke of Peace?

”Go check the personnel situation in the Duke of Peace’s residence...” Although it’s just a hunch, Yang Ruxin doesn’t allow uncertain factors to exist.

Du Yunpeng nodded and left. These days, he had been mingling around, making friends with various types of people due to his generosity, so it wasn’t too difficult to inquire about matters that weren’t too confidential.

Yang Ruxin found Qi Jingyi and explained her idea.
