The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1754: Chapter 1754: Post (4)

Actually, there is an agency in Beijing called the Beijing Military Public Security Bureau, which is responsible for the city’s security, including fire prevention and tax collection. This is similar to the Ming Dynasty’s Five Cities’ Military Office.

The duties of the Embroidered Knife Guardians and the Public Security Bureau are somewhat similar. However, if we divide them specifically, the Five Cities’ Military Office is like the public security bureau, while the Embroidered Knife Guardians are akin to urban management.

Both are powerful departments in their own right.

Gu Qingheng is currently the captain of the urban management team.

And the commander of the Beijing Military Public Security Bureau is Cha Anbo, who is the cousin of Empress Dowager Jiang.

In fact, according to logic, a newcomer like Gu Qingheng shouldn’t have gotten such a position, but the Emperor favored him.

So, since Gu Qingheng entered Beijing, he has been very busy, as being favored requires proving one’s worth with capability.

”You’ve worked hard.” Yang Ruxin reached out and pinched Gu Qingheng’s cheek.

”After the Imperial Consort’s birthday, we’ll go home together.” Gu Qingheng wrapped his arms around Yang Ruxin’s waist, ”It’s worth the hard work now for our future happy days.”

Yang Ruxin nodded, ”Actually, I also like the village life.” She patted his hand, ”Hurry and go out... I want to spar with you.”

”Aren’t you going to show any appreciation?” Gu Qingheng pouted.

”What kind of appreciation do you want?” Yang Ruxin suddenly felt her ears turn a bit warm.

”Of course, like this.” Gu Qingheng said as he lowered his head to kiss her lips.

But fortunately, this guy had some sense and let go before his body reacted, ”You troublesome little thing.”

Yang Ruxin laughed unkindly, ”You better be prepared for me to trouble you for a lifetime.”

”I’m prepared for this life, the next life, and the one after that...”

”Such a sweet talker.” Yang Ruxin was amused.

”Care to taste some more?”

”Shameless...”

”What’s the point of having face when getting a wife?”

The two of them flirted their way to the courtyard, starting their morning practice, or more accurately, sparring.

The reason Yang Ruxin proposed to spar was that ever since she had cleared her meridians, she found her body much lighter. Although she couldn’t climb walls yet, she could jump over a wall more than two meters high.

Gu Qingheng was also amazed at Yang Ruxin’s progress. If she continued like this, he might one day not be able to keep up with her. However, he was happy and took the opportunity to teach her some techniques on using inner energy.

Yang Ruxin also taught Gu Qingheng some techniques in grappling combat from the future.

By the time the east started to lighten, the servants were getting up to work, and the two of them finally stopped, washed up, and began their breakfast.

Gu Qingheng, being a fifth-rank general, now had the qualification to attend court, but recently he didn’t need to and instead had to lead the Embroidered Knife Guardians in patrolling the streets.

Yang Ruxin was contemplating visiting the deserted temple later to check on the kids, and also to visit Qi Jingyun’s shop. Since she had promised to help him open a bar, she couldn’t just ignore it; besides, she couldn’t afford to offend him completely. She planned to have lunch at Baoyue Building, then wander around in the afternoon to buy some things for Uncle Youcai and the others to take back.

However, just before she went out, Gu Di came in with a stack of cards: ”Madam, these are the visiting cards and invitations we’ve received in the past two days.”

”Visiting cards? Invitations?” Yang Ruxin frowned slightly.

”Five of them are for visiting, and two are invitations for the madam to attend banquets...”
