The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 908: Chapter 908: Kneeling (6)

”Actually, this Sudoku is quite simple; it’s just numbers one to nine. After filling them in, the sums of the numbers in each row, column, and diagonal are all equal. It’s too simple. Even kindergarten kids could solve this level of Sudoku in my past life. So, Yang Ruxin called out without hesitation, ’Two, three, six.’”

Gu Qingheng nodded, ’You stay here, I’ll open the door.’

’I’m coming with you,’ Yang Ruxin said, holding Gu Qingheng’s hand tightly. Although she was confident she had the right answer, she didn’t want Gu Qingheng to take the risk alone. This place was rigged with such clever traps; if the answer was right, the door would open, but if it was wrong—and one could guess using their toes—there would surely be a barrage of arrows, and the person opening the door would have nowhere to escape.”

’You...’

’No refusing, no saying no,’ Yang Ruxin raised her eyebrows, ’We agreed to share our fate together. If you don’t let me go, even if nothing happens this time, as soon as we get out, I’ll immediately go and find someone else to marry...’

Gu Qingheng had no choice but to lead her to the door.

’Go ahead,’ Yang Ruxin nodded.

Gu Qingheng smiled, extended his hand, and pressed two. There was a click sound, but no danger appeared.

Then he pressed three, and there was another click.

As soon as six was pressed, they heard a rumbling sound.

Gu Qingheng quickly hugged Yang Ruxin and backed away two zhang.

They saw the originally closed door rumbling and opening to both sides.

Yang Ruxin let out a breath and looked back at the stone slab, clearly understanding that the puzzle was not difficult. The real challenge was being willing to follow the inscriptions on that stone slab after seeing them. They were fortunate to have knelt; otherwise, they really couldn’t have entered.

Behind the door was a long corridor, with murals painted on the stone walls on both sides.

’Qingheng, this tomb might very well belong to King Kang, Zhao Gou,’ Yang Ruxin observed the murals all the way, growing more certain, ’Look, these strokes all depict the Jingkang incident of that year...’

’Right,’ Gu Qingheng also nodded, ’That would mean that Zhao Gou had descendants who survived...’

Yang Ruxin nodded, feeling somewhat excited. After all, the tomb of Zhao Gou—in her previous life that was Emperor Gaozong, who, although not a good emperor, lived to be more than eighty years old. In ancient times, that was considered an extraordinarily long life, and he was a calligrapher. How could she not be excited?

However, in her previous life, Emperor Gaozong was buried in the Yongsi Mausoleum in Shaoxing.

In this era, although Zhao Gou did not become Emperor, he was still a historical figure. Shouldn’t there be good things in the tomb of a famous person?

Yang Ruxin wasn’t thinking of tomb robbing, but it would still be good to gain some insight.

After passing through the tomb passage, the space opened up, but there was no coffin in sight. Instead, there stood nine ornate columns, each carved with dragons of different forms. The surrounding walls were still adorned with murals, the contents of which further confirmed their previous speculations.

’Someone has been here before,’ Gu Qingheng observed the bones on the ground and sighed softly, ’Fortunately, they didn’t destroy the place.’ They probably died before they got the chance to do any damage.

’A man dies for money,’ Yang Ruxin also sighed, ’No helping it, that’s just human nature. But when they came, they didn’t expect to die, all holding on to the slim hope that, what if they didn’t? They would be rich once they returned.’

Gu Qingheng nodded.

The three of them passed through the ornate columns and continued forward, finally arriving at the main burial chamber. They did not rashly enter but stood at the doorway to observe the interior.
