The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 868: Chapter 868: Cousin (2)

”My younger sister already has a suitor?” Yang Baihui’s eyes widened in disbelief. ”What sort of family is it?” Although skeptical, she knew she had to inquire further.

”A family from Beijing, the Qi family,” Yang Baihe said with a proud smile. ”Oh, don’t bother asking. He will soon come to the village, and I’ll let you know then...”

Miss Baihe was still preoccupied with the fact that Master Qi had chosen Prince Ten for her and was eagerly awaiting Prince Ten’s return to marry her.

”Alright, you must remember to notify me,” Yang Baihui also smiled. ”If our sister truly marries into a Beijing family, it will reflect well on us, won’t it?” Even though she was uncertain about the reputation of the Qi family from Beijing, she assumed it couldn’t be too shabby.

”Of course,” Yang Baihe laughed. ”We’re sisters, after all. Once I become Madame Qi, I will definitely take care of you all...”

”Then I’ll eagerly await to share in my sister’s good fortune,” Yang Baihui sighed. ”The sacrifices I made for the family all those years ago wouldn’t have been in vain...”

Yang Anshi’s lips twitched slightly, but she remained silent.

Just as Yang Ruyu reached the door, she overheard the conversation and scoffed to herself. Madame Qi of the Qi family? Dream on. Prince Ten fancies her, after all. However, as she was about to sneer, she felt someone’s gaze on her. She quickly looked up and locked eyes with Feng Haibo, feeling somewhat flustered and shyly nodding: ”Brother Haibo.”

Yang Ruyu was already naturally beautiful, and her purposefully coy glance made her even more charming.

Feng Haibo felt his heart skip a beat. Girls ought to be this way, he thought. He couldn’t help but remember Yang Ruxin, who had also become pretty but was too fierce. Recalling her disdainful and icy stare, he found it upsetting. If she hadn’t suddenly come into money, he wouldn’t have deigned to pay her any mind. He stepped forward and said, ”Cousin Ruyu, you’ve become even more distinguished since I last saw you.” He had always known she was beautiful, but back when he was an apprentice in town with prospects, he had aspired to marry a young lady from the city. Therefore, he hadn’t been interested in a pretty cousin from the countryside. Of course, he wouldn’t have minded making her a concubine if possible, but now things were different. He had lost his apprenticeship, and a city lady was probably out of reach. That’s why he had agreed to his mother’s suggestion to court Yang Dani. But now, he found himself preferring the idea of marrying Yang Ruyu.

Of course, it would be best if he could secure Yang Dani’s silver and then marry Yang Ruyu.

Daydreams are indeed beautiful.

”Cousin, you seem to have lost quite some weight. You must take good care of your health,” Yang Ruyu’s gentle voice advised before she playfully scolded him with a glance.

Feng Haibo felt a tingling sensation throughout his body.

Yang Ruyu headed straight for the house, but whether by accident or design, she stumbled near Feng Haibo, letting out a small cry of ”Ouch.”

Feng Haibo quickly reached out to steady the young girl’s body, feeling a soft and warm embrace, which sent ripples through his heart.

”Thank you, cousin,” Yang Ruyu’s eyes sparkled with triumph as she quickly straightened up, her cheeks flushed with a red hue. ”This ground is too slippery...”

”You must be careful, cousin. It wouldn’t be good if you fell,” Feng Haibo took a deep breath, recalling how his hand had hastily landed on her chest in his urgency, leaving him with a tingling sensation.
