The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 444: Chapter 444: Marrying Another at the End of the Month (29th Update)_1

”Everything has been said, now it’s up to you to see what you’ll do.” Yang Baifu said and turned to leave.

Yang Dongshi immediately burst into loud weeping.

”Cry, cry, any bit of good fortune you had has been cried away by you, you jinx...” The cursing voice of Yang Anshi came from the main hall, ”If you want to cry to death, go back to the Dong Family village to cry...”

But at this moment, Yang Dongshi didn’t want to quiet down as she usually would. Instead, she cried louder. After all, she was out of options now. Could they even deny her the right to cry?

Yang Anshi wanted to scold her some more, but was stopped by Yang Baifu as he entered the door: ”Mother, let her cry. Once she’s done, she’ll come to her senses.”

”What’s happened?” Yang Anshi frowned immediately.

”Lv’s family wants her to be the principal wife,” Yang Baifu laughed hehe, ”That means this chicken that doesn’t lay eggs has to move over...”

”What?” Yang Peili, who was at the side smoking his pipe, suddenly looked up, ”No, she’s a widow...”

”What about a widow? A widow can bear me a son...” Yang Baifu insisted, neck stiffened, ”How big and round is Lv’s family’s buttocks? She is definitely destined to bear sons. I don’t care, I can’t be without a son...” He paused for a moment, ”If Yang Dongshi could bear a son, then I wouldn’t have looked for another wife...”

Yang Peili wanted to say something more, but then he felt that his son might be making sense, so he shut his mouth.

”Having no son and still occupying the pit without shitting, such a one is worthy of divorce,” Yang Anshi snapped her eyelids, ”But Laosi, even if you must take another wife, take a pure maiden, not that Lv widow...”

”I just like her,” Yang Baifu hurriedly interjected, ”In this life, I will marry no one but her. If you all don’t agree... then... then I’ll jump into the river...”

”You...” Yang Anshi was suddenly speechless, and after a long while, she just gave her son a stern look, ”So accomplished you are...”

”Heihei,” Yang Baifu suddenly moved closer and took Yang Anshi’s arm, ”Mother, I know you love your son, so just agree to it...”

”Alright, alright, I will go along with you,” Yang Anshi sighed helplessly and finally nodded her head.

”Then, mother, give me some silver,” Yang Baifu stretched out his hand.

”What do you need silver for?” Yang Anshi frowned, ”Even if she’s to be the principal wife, there’s no need for a grand ceremony for a widow, just make do with two tables tomorrow...”

”How could that be okay?” Yang Baifu shook his head, ”I can’t treat her unfairly, I have to at least get a decent bride price, don’t I?”

”Not tomorrow...”

”Taking a concubine, tomorrow would suffice, but not for taking a wife,” Yang Baifu waved his hand, ”We’ve discussed it, let’s do it at the end of the month. That would give us more time.”

Yang Anshi raised her hand and poked at the pouch Yang Baifu was carrying: ”Look at you...” But in the end, she relented and pulled out three ounces of silver.

”Mother, how can three ounces of silver be enough?” Yang Baifu looked disdainfully, ”At least five ounces is needed...”

There was no helping it. Though Yang Anshi was reluctant, in the end, she was worn down by Yang Baifu’s insistence and gave him five ounces.

Yang Baifu then happily went out again. The old widower had bought Lv’s family a silver hairpin, so he couldn’t be outdone — he had to buy an even bigger one...

Meanwhile, the weeping in the side room had stopped. Dongshi knew crying to death wouldn’t get anyone’s attention; her heart had turned completely cold. But what was she to do? What could she do?

”Mother, let’s go find eldest sister...” Daya, who had been hugging her younger sister in the corner, came over and tugged at Yang Dongshi’s sleeve.
