The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 422: Chapter 422: Appreciating the Favor (7 Updates)_1

Yuan Mengzhu frowned, wanting to say something, but faced with her son’s pale face that lacked any trace of color, she found herself unable to utter a word.

At this moment, the well-intentioned Yang Ruxin was somewhat bewildered, truly bewildered. She had been prepared to take a whipping, but, looking at the already processed female household registration in her hand and then at the calm County Magistrate and his assistant urging her to leave quickly, she really didn’t know how to react. Should she just say thank you?

”Miss Yang, you should hurry back home,” Fang Dehua waved his hands, ”I’m quite busy here. From now on, you’ve nothing to do with anyone else and no one can control you, including matters of your marriage and the properties in your name...”

”But... wasn’t I...” Yang Ruxin hastily waved her hands, ”Wasn’t I supposed to be whipped? But...”

”You’ve already been whipped,” the assistant to the County Magistrate laughed upon hearing this and pointed outside.

Yang Ruxin turned around to see two Government Officials flogging a bench with whips.

”Fang sir, this...”

”My girl, don’t ask about it,” Assistant Zou walked over, chuckling as he looked at Yang Ruxin, ”Instructions were given about this matter. Your household registration was prepared long ago, just waiting for you to come and collect it. Now that you’ve got it, we can breathe a sigh of relief, we’ve fulfilled our duty.”

”Then, Fang sir, you must let me know who helped me?” Yang Ruxin frowned.

Fang Dehua’s plump face broke into a smile, then he took up a pen and wrote the number eight on a piece of paper, thinking to himself that for Prince No. 8 to personally come and speak to a Seventh-rank County Magistrate like him about this matter, this girl must have a quite significant background, and he definitely could not afford to look down upon her.

Yang Ruxin’s brows furrowed. What did the number eight mean? She wanted to ask more, but somebody ran in from outside, ”Sir!”

”Madam Qiu, why have you come to the front?” Fang Dehua frowned.

”My lord, it was madam who sent this old servant here,” Madam Qiu answered respectfully, ”Madam said...” glancing at Yang Ruxin, ”Miss Yang is the young master’s life-saver, so... she would like Miss Yang to come and sit in the rear courtyard.”

Fang Dehua’s eyes lit up immediately, ”What happened?”

”The last time madam took the young master to the Shen Family’s birthday banquet, the young master fell ill, and it was this young lady who brought fresh musk...”

”I see,” said Fang Dehua, his smile becoming genuine, ”In that case, Miss Yang is also a life-saver of the Fang Family, my apologies.” He made a fist-and-palm salute. Before, if his superior had been pressuring him, he’d had no choice but to comply, but now it was different. He had that one and only son; though sickly, his son was alive, and as long as he was alive, there was a son in his life. If his son were gone... he couldn’t possibly hope to have another son at his age, could he? Surely he couldn’t really consider adopting another’s child? That wasn’t what he wanted to see.

”Sir, you are too kind,” Yang Ruxin hurriedly waved her hand, ”It was merely a coincidence.” She also understood in her heart that it must have been Fang Tianze who had recognized her; that young fellow was truly pitiful.

Fang Dehua however still smiled, ”Coincidence or not, you are my son’s benefactor.” He paused, ”Please come with me, Miss Yang.”

Yang Ruxin sighed inwardly, knowing she could not refuse, and followed him to the rear office.

They passed through the door that separated the front office from the rear and walked through a garden before entering the flower hall.

”Sister Xin...” came a somewhat weak voice.

Yang Ruxin sighed, ”Thank you, Tianze.” Although her change to a female household had little to do with this child, his intentions were nonetheless good, and she must show her appreciation.
