Two Realms: I Will Become the Immortal Emperor

Chapter 440: Chapter 409: Emerging from the Water

Chen Che was no stranger to the fearsome reputation of the Bone-eating Fish in the Black Tortoise Calm Sea.

In fact, before his battle with Dan Xuanzi, this very school of vicious fish had been stirred up by Meng Qianxun’s intrusion, swarming over everything. Even a creature like the Dragon Turtle had been forced to retreat into its shell and flee.

Though individually weak, their immense numbers earned them a terrifying reputation in the Calm Sea.

It was this very reputation...

...that had caused the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon to react with a moment of shock.

BOOM—

The instant the Spiritual Boat escaped, the massive school of fish swiftly enveloped the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon’s body.

Had it been any other Fierce Beast, it would have been devoured, stripped to a skeleton in mere moments. But the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon was truly a descendant of the Xiangliu bloodline. Just as the group looked back, it twisted its body, its Demon Qi whipping up the endless seawater.

SPLASH!

The seawater surged, gathering and then releasing. It transformed into a terrifying wave that rolled outward in all directions. Amid a series of deafening CRACKS and POPS, countless Bone-eating Fish exploded on the spot, a mist of blood submerging the entire sea region.

The enormous wave even reached the Spiritual Boat, catching it and tossing it about.

”Can this school of Bone-eating Fish really deal with the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon?”

Yu Yunfei, who had been knocked unconscious during the battle with the Mudskipper Shrimp, had woken up at some point. He stood on the deck, staring blankly at the spreading blood mist.

Everyone looked over. The massive schools of Bone-eating Fish showed no signs of retreating despite the deaths of their comrades. Instead, the spreading scent of blood seemed to drive them into an even greater frenzy. Yu Yunfei’s question was on everyone’s mind.

Chen Che glanced coldly at the distant scene and said:

”It’s hard to say. A swarm of ants can kill an elephant, but with the way the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon is slaughtering them, I’m afraid there aren’t enough Bone-eating Fish. We need to recover as quickly as possible. There might be another vicious battle waiting for us.”

The Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon had clearly gone berserk.

Even while enveloped by the school of fish, its Demon Qi blazed with arrogant power. The bloody water and the swarming fish were like dark clouds, obscuring a section of the sea. But the most terrifying part was the six strange lights shining within that chaos.

They were the beast’s eyes.

And two of those lights were locked dead on the Spiritual Boat, clearly unwilling to let its ’food’ escape. To Cultivators, Demon Beasts were resources. To Demon Beasts, Human Race Cultivators were the same.

”That’s right.”

At this moment, Yu Yunko added to Chen Che’s words, ”If we can escape, we’ll be fine. If not, all of us will perish. The strength of this Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon is beyond our ability to fight head-on. Prepare for a battle to the death.”

Hearing this, everyone’s hearts began to pound like war drums.

One must understand, they were all Golden Core True Masters. Every Golden Core cultivator possessed an eight-hundred-year lifespan and had witnessed the rise and fall of Mortal Dynasties. Each one had the power to establish their own sect, yet before this beast, they felt as insignificant as ants.

”No wonder the Black Tortoise Calm Sea has always been called a forbidden zone for Cultivators.”

Chen Xi couldn’t help but sigh.

Hearing this, a bold guess surfaced in Chen Che’s mind: ’The ancestor of the Yu Race probably met a similar Fierce Beast in the Black Tortoise Calm Sea and perished because of it.’

Just then, Yu Yunko took a small, string-tied round tripod from her waist. It was covered in numerous inscribed patterns. Chen Che glanced at it; it looked somewhat like a Pill Furnace and contained a pool of shimmering golden liquid.

She flicked her finger, sending several drops of the Golden Liquid flying toward everyone.

”This is my Yu Family’s Profound Gold Water.”

Yu Yunko explained, ”It can help restore stamina and Qi and Blood, and it can rapidly heal injuries.”

Meng Qianxun and the others exchanged glances.

Clearly, they had never heard of this item. But that was to be expected. A great clan with a thousand-year heritage that had also founded a sect like the Star-Picking Sect would naturally have secrets unknown to outsiders.

Chen Che took a drop of the Golden Liquid and touched it to his lips. He instantly felt a refreshing sensation spread through his body. Not only was his fatigue swept away, but the injuries he’d sustained while maintaining the Array were also slowly healing. After Meng Changtu and the others took the Profound Gold Water, their eyes lit up, clearly astonished by its effects.

He took out his Yellow Gourd, poured out a few pills, and distributed them to the members of the Yu Clan.

”Wangxian Pills. They can rapidly restore True Essence, and also have a minor effect of restoring stamina and Qi and Blood.”

The two groups exchanged what they had, quickly trading the pills and the Spiritual Water.

Yu Yunko hadn’t thought much of it at first. After all, with her family background, what kind of pill hadn’t she seen? But the moment the pill entered her mouth, her eyes brightened. She felt a potent medicinal power pour into her body, suffusing her limbs.

The other clan members also had looks of astonishment written all over their faces.

’This Valley Master Chen’s Alchemy Skill is probably no less than that of True Master Chixia back then. No wonder Jinyun Valley has risen so rapidly.’

Yu Yunko was lost in thought.

On the other side, Chen Che had a similar thought:

’This Profound Gold Water is no ordinary item. It repairs the physical body and cleanses the meridians. Even after losing control of the Star-Picking Sect, the Yu Race still stands tall. It seems there’s a reason for it after all.’

In just a few moments, after taking the two spiritual elixirs, the group had recovered forty to fifty percent of their strength and were no longer as weak as before.

By this time, the Spiritual Boat had broken free from the sea’s violent pull.

Looking back, the seawater that had been swirling upward had now changed course, turning into a reverse current that poured back into the Sea Ruins. Once the water filled the Sea Ruins, the chaotic Spiritual Qi in this sea region would finally calm down.

SPLASH—

At the same time, another commotion erupted in the sea.

The group focused their gaze and their hearts jolted once more. The Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon was still wreaking havoc in the water, its massive body kicking up a storm of blood and gore with every thrash. However, it had also found itself in a sorry state.

The flood dragon’s body, from its midsection to its tail, had been gnawed away, revealing patches of ghastly white bone.

But this only served to further ignite the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon’s demonic nature. With a great slap of its tail, it forcibly broke free from the pocket formed by the Bone-eating Fish. The Bone-eating Fish were not about to give up and quickly gave chase.

But the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon had already taken a stance. It twisted its body, arching its massive form, and opened its three great mouths to their absolute limit.

WHIRL—

In an instant, a smaller vortex formed within the main one. Countless Bone-eating Fish were caught in it, spun around once in the water, and, no matter how they struggled, were swallowed whole by the three massive heads.

Watching from a distance, everyone felt their scalps tingle with fear.

This Fierce Beast’s power was so ferocious it seemed bottomless; even now, it still possessed such strength. Now that it had dealt with the Bone-eating Fish, would it be their turn next?

Just as they were thinking this, they saw the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon abandon the fleeing Bone-eating Fish. With a swift swing of its body, it swam up rapidly from the seabed. Viewed from below, its enormous form was a terrifying, shadowy behemoth.

”Rise!”

Panicked, the people on board quickly had the Spiritual Boat rise out of the water and into the air. They stopped moving and hovered in midair, watching the Fierce Flood Dragon’s movements.

But the Fierce Flood Dragon remained motionless, merely submerged beneath the water.

”What is it doing?”

Yu Yunfei exclaimed in alarm.

The others were just as baffled.

Chen Che stood at the ship’s rail and watched for a moment. He quietly sent out his Divine Sense, but before it could scan the creature’s full body, it was immediately blocked by a thick layer of Demon Qi. He could only see its body slowly writhing in the seawater. The left and middle heads had lowered their eyes, as if resting.

With each breath, its gill-like bone spurs trembled rhythmically. But the remaining right head, with its pair of giant pupils, was staring intently at the Spiritual Boat hovering in midair.

After observing for a moment, Chen Che described the Fierce Flood Dragon’s state to the others.

After hearing his description, Yu Yunko couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. ”Two of its three heads are resting, leaving only one active. It must be injured... But that injury wasn’t necessarily caused by the Bone-eating Fish. It could be from the Mudskipper Shrimp, or perhaps the Spiritual Tide.”

Chen Che also nodded slightly.

The wounds left by the Bone-eating Fish were merely superficial. For a Fierce Beast of this caliber, they didn’t count as serious injuries. He remembered how he had cleaved the Wangxian Monarch in two, and it had still struggled for a long time.

”Sigh...”

Meng Changtu, Meng Qianxun, and Chen Xi stared silently at the Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon.

Clearly, they, too, were thinking of the Wangxian Monarch.

But that Fierce Beast had been suppressed on Wangxian Ridge for a thousand years and had starved for a thousand years, which was the only reason they had stood a chance. This Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon seemed to be at least thirty percent stronger than the Wangxian Monarch was in its prime, and from the way it was acting now, it had clearly targeted them.

”What do we do now?”

Yu Fansong asked, ”Should we take this opportunity to attack?”

”Absolutely not.”

Yu Yunko slowly shook her head. ”The Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon’s Demon Qi is still immense and hasn’t weakened at all. Plus, it’s left one head to keep an eye on us. The moment we make a move, it will likely awaken fully. I suggest we stay put and meet any change with constancy. Valley Master Chen, what do you think?”

”Staying here is just waiting to die.”

Glancing at the slowly writhing Three-Headed Fierce Flood Dragon, Chen Che rejected the idea outright. ”It’s just resting and recovering right now. We have no idea how long it will be before it fully awakens. If we stay here, aren’t we just waiting to die? It’s better to leave now. We can recover on the move and look for a way out.”

After a brief discussion, the group decided Chen Che’s proposal was better. The Spiritual Boat began to move forward slowly.

And the Fierce Beast below also began to move, following them at an unhurried pace. Its massive shadow loomed over the Spiritual Boat from beneath.
