The Almighty Ring

After the money was distributed, a slate could barely be seen beneath the pile of gold coins. Some tiny words were engraved on it.

As they read the words, Jiang Fei and the others grew to learn of this Dungeon’s origin. It was originally the temple of the demon Asukuna. However, a long time ago, a plague had struck the area so hard that everyone died and became Spectres.

These Spectres could no longer think for themselves. They just maintained the habits they had before they died. Those who loved to study the word of the demons were just flipping books continually. Those who had to preach to the disciples swayed on the podium aimlessly. They were just like the Demon Lecturer and the other monsters that Jiang Fei and the others encountered.

However, the tranquility of the temple did not last very long. The Mutant Empress invaded this place. At first, the Empress was hunted by the Spectres. However, as the Empress reproduced more and more Mutant Hatchlings, the Spectres at the lower level of the temple were eventually wiped out. This was how the Hatcheries that Jiang Fei and the others passed through in order to get here came into existence.

As time went by, the number of Hatcheries increased and the Mutant Empress eventually gained near-full control of the entire temple!

Fortunately, Jiang Fei and the others happened upon the place just as the Mutant Empress was in her egg form. The freshly-hatched Mutant Empress had a 30-minute weakness period. Otherwise, Jiang Fei and the others would have ended up as snacks for the Mutant Empress!

As they now understood the ins and outs of this Dungeon, Jiang Fei and the others also knew that they have cleared this Unknown Dungeon. Even though they were still yearning for more, they had been more than compensated for their trouble!

Just one Unknown Dungeon allowed a group of players who could have never gotten a place in the Level Ranking Board to take up all the spots in the Rankings. Moreover, each of them had further obtained 15 bottles of precious Evolution Blood! This could be said to be their biggest gain out of this trip!

As this was the end of the Dungeon, Jiang Fei and the others immediately used Return Scrolls and left.

When he got back to Dawnlight City, Jiang Fei looked at the time. It ws time to log out soon. This time, Jiang Fei was already Level 25. The amount of Experience Points needed for him to level up now was dizzying to look at. If he relied on some old-fashioned grinding, he would probably need a few days to level up once!

With the money in his pocket, Jiang Fei could do a lot of things. He directly purchased a large number of materials with nearly 500 gold coins and produced fifty sets of materials for the Mutant’s Necklace.

Players did not have to go to the Blacksmith Shop to produce jewelry, so Jiang Fei directly began inlaying jewelry in front of the clan’s storehouse!

“Ding! You have failed to craft Mutant’s Necklace…”

“Ding! You have successfully crafted a Mutant’s Necklace [Strength]. Divine Blacksmith Experience +50!”

…

The success rate of Jewellery Inlaying was far lower than Smithing. Moreover, it was an Excellent quality Recipe. Despite Jiang Fei’s high luck, buying more than 50 sets of materials, had only managed to successfully earn him 17 finished products. In addition to that, there were only two pieces of Purple necklaces!

After picking out an Epic necklace that suited him, Jiang Fei deposited the rest in the clan’s storage.

Mutant’s Necklace [Armor Penetration] (Necklace, Quality: Epic)

Physical Attack +80

Vitality: +10

Equip: Allows you to gain the skill—Sunder Strike. Deals 400 damage to the enemy immediately and reduces the enemy’s Physical Defense by 20% for 30 seconds. (This skill will generate a lot of aggro!) One minute cooldown time!

Equip: Increases your Attack Speed by 5%.

Level Requirement: 20

After putting on the new necklace, Jiang Fei’s Health Points soared to 8800 and he now had more than 600 Defense. If he meets another Leader Boss, Jiang Fei would not be the same as before. He would not have to rely on any death-immunity skills to save his life anymore!

Crafting jewelry took up a lot of time. When Jiang Fei was done, it was almost time to go offline. Jiang Fei thought about it for a bit, then went to the Potion Shop and bought ten stacks of Medium Health Points Potions before depositing them in the blue box of the Spatial Ring.

Ten stacks of Medium Health Points Potions cost him 100 gold coins. That was a total of 300 bottles. Jiang Fei was planning to hand it over to Han Tianyu. Although Jiang Fei did not lack gold coins, his Spatial Ring had limited space. He could only store sixteen items at once. Moreover, several blue boxes were occupied by other items!

After six o’clock, a new day began.

“Wow! He’s totally fine!”

“Who were those people yesterday?”

“No idea! They looked like terrorists!”

“Yesterday, I heard people from the ninth class saying that Jiang Fei seemed to know the group of men in black!”

“That can’t be true… he knows terrorists?”

“Hoho, a while ago when Jiang Fei was in the limelight, I heard that Li Heizi had planned to beat him up. Now, Li Heizi is probably scared to death. He wouldn’t dare to make a move on Jiang Fei anymore, right?

“You’re right, Li Heizi feels like he’s part of a mafia even though he just knows a bunch of gangsters, and he goes around stirring up trouble everywhere. Look at Jiang Fei — he keeps a low profile even though he knows terrorists!”

“Nonsense, if you knew terrorists would you dare announce it to the world?”

…

When Jiang Fei walked into school, he heard people whispering to each other all the way. Those students were respectful towards him, yet fearful. They all shied away from him far away. After all, Han Tianyu had gone a little overboard with things yesterday. Well, he could not be blamed entirely either. It had been truly urgent. Chen Kaiyin’s life had been at stake. Han Tianyu had wanted to call Jiang Fei and ask him to wait at the field so that the helicopter could just pick him up and leave. However, Jiang Fei was in class, and he had taken out the batteries of his cell phone.

Frustrated, Han Tianyu was left with no options.

Although the school had received a notice and imposed a gagging order on the students, these students would still discuss among each other in hushed whispers. Moreover, students from the ninth class now had the chance to brag around, so the versions of the story were becoming more and more twisted. Some of them had even said that Jiang Fei was the mastermind behind the terrorist organization that hit the skyscraper in the United States of America.

Of course, such an exaggerated version of the story was so far-fetched that nobody would believe it. However, the most prevalent theory was that Jiang Fei’s family had the force of a powerful and influential mafia. Nobody had dared to intercept them, even when they sent an armed helicopter straight into the city center!

The students were not alone in these suspicions. Even the teachers looked at him strangely. This included Abbess Miejue who taught Chemistry, the perverted madman who taught Biology, and the Mathematics teacher that came from Cybertron. All of them treated Jiang Fei as if he was transparent. Regardless of whether he was sleeping or daydreaming, they ignored it totally. They would not even ask him to stand in punishment!

Wednesday’s classes were dull and boring as usual. Jiang Fei was forcing himself to sit up and listen, but he was hoping that class would end early today so that he could go home and study the Evolution Blood! After all, Jiang Fei had never experienced anything that permanently added Attributes in reality.

Other than attending classes, Jiang Fei refrained from handing any potions over to Han Tianyu. After all, he had obtained such a large number of potions in one day. Explaining himself would be difficult so it would be more convincing to deliver the potions far later. This way, it would be easy for him to say that some expert had given it to him.
