The Almighty Ring

After Han Tianyu left, Jiang Fei followed Aaron to the lounge. It was luxurious to the point that Jiang Fei was left wondering if a mansion had been built in the hospital!

“Young Master Ah Fei, would you like any drinks?” Aaron politely asked.

“No, thanks!”

Jiang Fei shook his head. Then, he added, “Seriously, who’s injured?”

Jiang Fei was almost certain that someone had been seriously injured. Otherwise, Han Tianyu would not have come pick him up in a freaking chopper. Moreover, Han Tianyu had been pale white as he asked for the two bottles of Potion. Someone significant had definitely been injured!

“Young Master Ah Fei, please don’t make it difficult for us. If it’s possible, do ask Young Master yourself!”

Aaron shook his head somewhat fearfully. It was not his place as a bodyguard to speak of such matters!

“Okay, I get it!” Jiang Fei nodded.

Half the day went by before Han Tianyu finally appeared in front of Jiang Fei!

“Ah Fei! Let’s go! I need you to meet someone!” Han Tianyu said cheerily.

“Brother Yu, did you…”

Jiang Fei’s heart jumped. Although he had already guessed that giving two Health Points Potions away meant that more people were now privy to his secret, Jiang Fei still panicked.

“Don’t worry! This person is one of my elders. He’s really nice. Plus, you’ve also saved his life, so your secret is safe!”

Han Tianyu laughed.

“Okay then!”

Jiang Fei nodded. Since things have turned out this way, he had to give this person some face by turning up.

“Come on, don’t look like you just got dumped. There’s nothing to possibly lose from being acquainted with this person!” Han Tianyu said with a smile.

“Who is he?”

Jiang Fei became curious.

“You’ll know very soon!” Han Tianyu brought Jiang Fei outside.

“Damn… what a big squad…”

The more they went forward, the more surprised Jiang Fei became. Both covert and undercover officers were keeping watch. There were no less than a hundred people responsible for security and martial law occupying the entire ward!

“Uncle Chen, we’re here!” Han Tianyu gently knocked the door twice.

“Big Brother Tianyu, come on in!” A crisp female voice was heard.

Jiang Fei followed Han Tianyu into the ward. The furnishings of the room was complete but simplistic. The walls were white, and a few pots of flowers were placed on the windowsill. There were fruits on the small bedside table. Even the hospital bed was just an ordinary metal frame bed!

This was nothing like Han Tianyu’s luxurious ward! At that moment, a girl who had to be between fifteen or sixteen was cutting apples at the bedside. Although the girl was stunning, it was apparent that her eyes were already swollen from crying too much!

“Hoho, is this boy that magical Jiang Fei?” A weak voice was heard. As he looked towards the direction of where the sound came from, Jiang Fei saw a sickly looking middle-aged man. Although he looked pale, his eyes still burned with vigor.

“I’m Jiang Fei. Are you General Chen Kaiyin?” Jiang Fei asked, shocked.

This stern face appeared everywhere. As the representative of the Chinese military, Lieutenant General Chen Kaiyin almost spent more time overseas than in China. Other than his regular visits, he often brought Chinese soldiers into countries with political unrest to carry out peacekeeping operations or protect the enterprises and personnel overseas. Everyone knew his face. During a time of peace, of the many Generals in China, Chen Kaiyin was the only one who still made use of his soldiers.

“Mmm, you may address me like how Xiao Yu does, just call me Uncle Chen.”

Chen Kaiyin was being really friendly towards Jiang Fei.

“Sure! Uncle Chen!” Jiang Fei nodded.

“Xue-er, would you terribly mind if we were left alone? I’ve some things to discuss,” Chen Kaiyin told the girl beside him.

“Daddy, the doctor said that you have to talk less and rest more!”

After the girl gave him a firm reminder, she turned and left the ward.

“Hmm, Ah Fei, I won’t beat around the bush with you. Can you contribute to the country by sharing the formula of this potion?” Chen Kaiyin looked at Jiang Fei seriously.

“Ah?” Jiang Fei was startled. If he wanted potions, that would be easier. How was he going to find the formula for it? Of course, there were Recipes in the game, but what was the use of that?

“Uncle Chen!”

Han Tianyu looked at Chen Kaiyin angrily. After all, he just promised Jiang Fei that they would not talk about his secret. He had only said it a while ago, and now Uncle Chen was already asking for the formula. Was this appropriate?

“Oh, Ah Fei, don’t mind me, I was being too impetuous…”

Chen Kaiyin smiled awkwardly. Then, he looked directly at Jiang Fei and said: “I mean, as long as you can give me a price, regardless of money or power, I can help you find a way. This potion is really amazing! With it, we can save the lives of so many people!”

“This… the potion was given to me by someone else… I don’t know the formula…” Jiang Fei had to sidestep.

“Oh, I see! I was too rash… Hoho… Do you know why I want such potions?”

Chen Kaiyin suddenly changed the topic and asked Jiang Fei.

Jiang Fei shook his head.

“Do you know how I came back here?” Chen Kaiyin asked again.

Jiang Fei shook his head again.

“Have you seen quick-frozen seafood?” Chen Kaiyin asked with a smile.

“Yeah!” Jiang Fei nodded this time!

“I came back just like that! We were in Africa, and we were attacked by the enemy in a sudden raid. Shrapnel was embedded in my chest. It was too much for the local physicians to handle. I was transported back to China immediately thanks to some quick thinking and cryogenics. However, after I thawed, the doctors were certain that it was too late…”

After saying this, Chen Kaiyin’s eyes suddenly glowed with a passionate light!

“But, your magic potion actually pulled me back from the gates of death. All the doctors were already prepared to pronounce me dead. They said that I had only survived because God had most definitely blessed me with a miracle. Of course, I was still puzzled because I’m an atheist. Even if there really is a God, God would definitely not bless me. Finally, Xiao Yu told me everything. I only survived all because of you, because of that potion of yours!”

As his body was weak, Chen Kaiyin was out of breath and panting by the time he was finished.

“I wondered that if I were to hand out a bottle of this potion to the young boys in my army, the lives we could save are, many! Do you know how much pain I feel when I return home with aluminum boxes? They’re all amazing boys. So many of them were still so young…”

When he talked until here, Chen Kaiyin’s voice choked, and it was hard for him to continue.

“Uncle Chen… There is really no way I can get the potion’s formula, but I might be able to supply you with more potions!” Jiang Fei said after some consideration.

Although he was anxious that his secret would be leaked out, Jiang Fei was only sixteen years old. He was a patriotic teenager. When he heard that patriotic brothers and sisters only two to four years older than him were sacrificing themselves to protect the country, he would not be able to forgive himself for the rest of his life if their deaths continued due to his neglect.
