After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 1290: Chapter 384: Manchester Sprint King

Huang Kaiwen said.

”Kevin, what about you? You started playing football after university, being able to go to university must mean you have a knack for studying, right?”

The crowd asked.

”I wouldn’t say that.”

Huang Kaiwen smiled and waved his hand, saying: ”Comparing exams to research is like night and day, just some superficial stuff, constantly doing problems and remembering question types. A good exam score only means I have a good memory and mastered the exam techniques, but research needs inspiration, right? I’m more talented in sports, I can’t really say I’m talented in studying. That’s a realm with always someone better outside, unlike the straightforwardness of sports. You can’t compare which of two scientists is superior, and I don’t even have the qualifications to compare myself with them.”

”Kevin, you’re really humble. So, who’s your idol, in football?”

”I like many players: Pele, Galincha, Bobby Charlton, Totti, Maldini... but to say one is my idol, not really, because I just like watching football, I like exceptional players, not particularly one player.”

”Why’s that?” Huang Kaiwen said, ”No particular reason, I’m not someone who worships others. Back when I wasn’t playing football, if you asked me to spend a lot of money on a signed jersey or use that money to hang out with classmates for a summer, I’d definitely choose the latter. I just said, living your life well is the most important. No matter how much you like any player or star, or how much you spend on their merchandise, they won’t know if you skipped breakfast for several days.”

”Haha, Kevin, you’re really not afraid to speak your mind. Those are offensive words, could also affect your income. Aren’t you worried?”

The crowd asked.

”I really don’t have much to fear.”

Huang Kaiwen said directly, ”When you’re broke, money is crucial. You might say some insincere words to earn money. But now I have a lot of money, I can afford to eat, play, and buy whatever immediately. So there’s no need to excessively chase wealth.”

”Okay, last question.”

The crowd glanced at the list in hand and asked, ”You’ve been successful in many fields. What do you consider the most important aspect in all this, and what can others learn from you?”

”Talent, it’s still talent.”

Huang Kaiwen shook his head repeatedly, saying, ”Successful people can make anything they say sound profound. They’ll talk at length about how hard they worked. But in reality, if you follow their methods, you’ll find you still can’t succeed. For a businessman, success comes down to luck and opportunity; for an athlete, it’s luck and talent. Just seeing Bill Gates drop out and succeed, but not noticing his family background is no good. For someone like me, who studied all the way since youth, and only started playing football after graduating, if I succeeded, it’s not just because I had talent, more likely a lot of luck too. It’s hardly due to effort. There are many who trained hard as children, much harder than me, so I never share so-called success experiences, because I’m merely a lucky person, nothing more.”

The audience erupted in enthusiastic applause.

The audience just felt Huang Kaiwen was both humble and humorous.

”Alright, thank you, Kevin.”

Huang Kaiwen stood up, shook hands with the crowd, and left the studio.

Domestic and international cultures are two different things.

Abroad, Huang Kaiwen could brag freely, but back home, he just spoke openly.

After returning home, Huang Kaiwen only saw Lily and Miriam.

”She left?”

Huang Kaiwen asked.

”Yes, she left, and gave you a note, saying you can contact her if you have time.”

Lily handed the note to Huang Kaiwen like presenting a treasure.

Huang Kaiwen glanced at it and tossed it into the trash can.

Coming from America without understanding the rules, we’ll be strangers next time we meet, alright.

”Are we going to Japan next?”

”Yes, let’s go there for a visit.”

”I just saw online that Calderon said he would bring you back to Madrid.” Lily wrapped her arms around Huang Kaiwen’s neck and said.

”If every club chairman’s promise to sign me came true, I’d have played for at least five teams.”

Huang Kaiwen said dismissively.

Though playing in Madrid was enjoyable.

The Yellow Ball King was also happy at other clubs too.

Real Madrid really had no advantage in this regard.

Chelsea relied on the Premier League platform, and as for Milan, that was his home team.

Real Madrid, besides the title of the best team of the last century, really hadn’t much left now.

After gaining Bolt’s traits, Huang Kaiwen even felt a bit reluctant to leave the United Kingdom, envisioning playing every year in Trafford and City Stadium, being the Flash.

That night, Huang Kaiwen was busy when Kenyon called him.

”Kevin, we’ve compiled the list of players to be cleared, check if there’s anyone worth keeping. Also, recently Manchester City is in the limelight, the boss wants us to bring in some truly exceptional players, and we’d like to hear your opinion...” Kenyon said over the phone.

The TV was blaring, and Wu Zhenyu on it was saying, ”I’m really pissed off right now.”

Huang Kaiwen casually picked up the remote, pressed the mute button, tossed it aside, and, patting Miriam’s hair, said, ”Go ahead, I’m listening.”

”Minero, Di Santo, Jimmy Smith...” Kenyon began naming names.

Huang Kaiwen quickly said, ”Don’t mention players who aren’t in the first team; if you talk about the youth team, I won’t know who they are.”

”Alright, I’ll read the first team exit list then.”

Kenyon said.

Huang Kaiwen kept sucking in his breath, Kenyon on the other end of the phone was somewhat anxious, unsure of what might have displeased Huang Kaiwen.
