Chapter 72 -72: Free of Charge

At this moment, Qiao Bing turned to look at Lin Dong and asked, “Lin Dong, this place isn’t cheap, do you have enough money with you?”

Lin Dong nodded, “It’s okay, I still have enough for the meal.”

Seeing this, Qiao Bing didn’t say anything more, but she felt that Lin Dong was quite likable.

Before the dishes were served, Huang Hua’s intern, Zhang Yao, began clamoring to order some drinks.

At this, Qiao Bing frowned. This intern really didn’t know her place. Was it her turn to speak?

However, Huang Hua was very supportive, “That’s right, it’s unthinkable to eat here without drinking; we would be the laughing stock if word got out.”

“We must order drinks!”

Bai Jue couldn’t stand it any longer; she felt pained for Lin Dong’s money.

Although she knew Lin Dong had Four Million, that money shouldn’t be wasted.

She hurriedly said, “Let’s forget about the wine…”

“How can we forget about it? Not drinking would be such a downer,” Zhang Yao continued to say.

Lin Dong also didn’t have a good feeling about Huang Hua’s intern. Ordering drinks was one thing, but why should he treat her?

Lin Dong said in a stern voice, “Zhang Yao, right? You’re an intern under Huang Hua; if you want to drink, you should also ask your mentor to treat you.”

Huang Hua immediately patted his chest with a show of generosity and said, “It’s okay, I’ll treat my own intern. I don’t need anything from you, Lin Dong.”

“Xiao Yao, later when you want to drink something, feel free to order. Your teacher will pick up the tab!”

Hearing Huang Hua’s assurances, Zhang Yao quickly ingratiated herself, “Teacher, you are so generous. Unlike certain people, so stingy.”

“Heh, you have to understand, after all, some people come from the countryside as barefoot doctors with no money in their pockets,” Huang Hua said mockingly.

At that time, Qiao Bing looked at Lin Dong, feeling a sudden sense of guilt. She hadn’t expected things would turn out this way.

“Lin Dong, why don’t I treat this time?” Qiao Bing said, as she was also worried Lin Dong might not have enough money to settle the bill later.

Lin Dong waved his hands to indicate he would treat himself, as after all, this was a feast welcoming him on board, and it wouldn’t be right to have Qiao Bing pay out of her own pocket.

Seeing this, Qiao Bing didn’t say anything more but felt even more impressed with Lin Dong.

Soon the dishes arrived, and everyone dug in heartily.

Huang Hua went even further by ordering a bottle of Feitian Moutai and said to Lin Dong, “Lin Dong, I’ve paid for a bottle of Feitian Moutai myself, aren’t you going to order one too?”

That wine was not cheap; it was now selling for over three thousand a bottle.

However, Lin Dong, without batting an eyelid, ordered two bottles directly.

Seeing this, Huang Hua secretly thought, “Lin Dong, let’s see what you’ll do when it’s time to settle the bill. The cost of the dishes plus your two bottles of wine is going to be tens of thousands of pieces!”

Although Zhang Yao was young, she could see her teacher Huang Hua wanted to embarrass Lin Dong.

So she fanned the flames and said, “We ladies can’t drink liquor; let’s have some red wine instead.”

Huang Hua nodded continuously, “You’re right, Xiao Yao.”

Huang Hua was prepared to take a big hit this time.

He searched the drinks menu and selected a costly red wine.

This red wine, a Lafitte Rothschild Dry Red Wine from 2004, though only 750 mL, was priced at twelve thousand.

Without letting Lin Dong see the menu, he tried to trap Lin Dong by saying:

“Lin Dong, I’ve ordered a bottle of red wine for my intern, aren’t you going to order the same for everyone?”

Lin Dong, without any hesitation, ordered two more bottles immediately.

Seeing this, Huang Hua was brimming with joy internally.

He thought to himself, “Lin Dong, you country bumpkin, you surely don’t know how expensive this wine is. Each bottle costs twelve thousand, and you’ve just spent another twenty-four thousand. What will you do when you can’t pay the bill?”

He seemed convinced that Lin Dong would be unable to pay, already fantasizing about Lin Dong being unable to save face later on.

Imagining that situation, Huang Hua’s appetite suddenly increased.

Engaging in such spiteful deeds seemed to delight him.

Indeed, he had a rather malicious streak.

Qiao Bing wanted to remind Lin Dong to not be so extravagant.

However, Lin Dong stood up at that moment and said, “I need to use the restroom urgently.”

Hearing this, Huang Hua laughed heartily, “Lin Dong, you’re not planning to pee and flee to dodge the bill, are you? If that’s the case, it would damage our department’s reputation. You can forget about working as a doctor.”

Lin Dong was speechless and replied, “It’s just the money for a meal; I wouldn’t stoop to peeing to escape the bill.”

After finishing, he turned and headed for the restroom.

On one hand, he truly needed to use the restroom.

On the other hand, he was planning to find the shop manager to inquire about something.

When Lin Dong first came to Jianghai, he had helped Lady Yu Li cure the sickness on her face.

At that time, Lady Yu Li had given him a card, which Li Qingcheng said was called the Five Dragons Supreme Card.

It seemed to offer discounts at the Jianghai Commerce Association’s subsidiaries.

And Yu Jiangnan Hotel appeared to be one of Jianghai Commerce Association’s businesses. Lin Dong wanted to ask how much discount he would get with this Five Dragons Supreme Card.

He quickly arrived at the restaurant’s back office and found the shop manager.

Then he took out the Five Dragons Supreme Card.

The shop manager was completely stunned, “This… this is the Five Dragons Supreme Card! With this card, when you come to our restaurant, you will be our most honored guest!”

Lin Dong scratched his head, curious, “With this card, how much of a discount do I get?”

The shop manager was taken aback for a moment, then hurriedly replied, “Free of charge!!”
