Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1372 - 705: Retreat and the UFO

”Is this... is this what it looks like up there?”

”These monsters... how can they fly? They don’t have wings!”

”Look at the air around them, there’s a distortion phenomenon. Is it a magnetic field?”

”Look over there, those islands floating in the sky; are those the Floating Islands Mr. Liang mentioned?”

”To be precise, they are giant corpses!”

”Oh my God, why are there so many giant corpse islands in the sky? Where did they come from?”

”Did you see this galaxy? That’s the source of the flood!”

After a period of silence, intense discussions erupted in the research department.

Everyone was stunned by this scene in the sky.

It turned out that above the clouds, it was actually like this!

Those Floating Islands, those Celestial Abyss monsters, and that waterfall like a galaxy!

All of this seemed to bring everyone into another mysterious world.

Below the clouds, the flood was spreading, and the rain was pouring.

Yet above the clouds, the world was sunny, with clear blue skies.

It was as if they were in two different worlds!

Anyone who saw this scene would be shocked.

Except for Liang Yuan.

He had already seen similar scenes with the military.

Of course, even when seeing the sky above for the second time, Liang Yuan couldn’t help but feel dazed.

”Yangshan No. 1! Yangshan No. 1, this is the tower, please respond!”

”Yangshan No. 1 received!”

As the video feed resumed, the communication signal instantly restored.

Fei Kang’s voice came from the other end.

Li Hanzhong immediately took the microphone and asked, ”How is the spaceship? Is anyone injured?”

”No casualties, the power engine system experienced a brief pause in the clouds.”

”Defense system is normal!”

”Weapon system is normal.”

”Radar system is normal!”

...

As each self-check program began operating, Fei Kang, Xu Huang, and others reported the status of the spaceship.

Suddenly, Fei Kang’s startled shout came.

”Not good, unidentified flying objects approaching!”

As he shouted, the spaceship’s alarm quickly sounded.

In the air, a large number of mutant beasts were rapidly flying towards them.

”Quick, activate the defense system!”

Fei Kang shouted, and Xu Huang activated the defense shield without a second thought.

The defense shield of Yangshan No. 1 uses the Spirit Turtle Shield and Golden Armor Talisman Array.

As the two arrays activated, two energy barriers instantly protected the spaceship.

Boom, boom, boom—!

Loud explosions erupted, even in the research department, they could see the intense shaking.

The entire spaceship seemed to roll rapidly as if being bombarded.

Liang Yuan saw this and quickly ordered, ”Retreat! Immediately retreat!”

Li Hanzhong hesitated, ”But if we retreat now, we won’t get the first-hand information from above...”

Liang Yuan turned to him and shouted, ”Immediate retreat! Our goal this time is to see if the experimental spaceship can pass through the thundercloud, not to explore what’s up there!”

”Their strength is too weak to explore the Celestial Abyss world, return! Immediately!”

Li Hanzhong suddenly came to his senses and quickly ordered, ”Return, Immediate retreat!”

”Fei Kang, Xu Huang, this is the tower, your mission is complete, return immediately!”

”Ensure the spaceship remains intact!” Ren Jie quickly advised.

For the research department, although they didn’t explore the situation above this time,

It’s okay, as long as Yangshan No. 1 returns safely, they can obtain the data from the thundercloud.

In the future, they can mass-produce spaceships, even specifically add defense systems and attack systems.

If they can create a spaceship for a hundred people, then entering the Celestial Abyss world again will be much easier.

So now the most important thing is not to explore the Celestial Abyss world, but to ensure the spaceship’s safe return to obtain this flight data!

Above the thundercloud, Yangshan No. 1 frantically dodged among dozens of flying creatures.

In front of the control system, Fei Kang was focused, sweating heavily, performing several extreme maneuvers and maximizing the ship’s power, spinning wildly and dodging.

On the other side, Xu Huang activated the spaceship’s defense shield to the maximum, while shouting, ”I’m going to activate the Vulcan cannon!”

Fei Kang immediately shouted, ”Fire, counter-kill those beasts hard!”

”The tower instructed us to ensure the spaceship’s integrity, we can return immediately now!” Jiang Hui hurriedly shouted.

Meanwhile, Wu Zhengyu and Song Fei were quickly collecting spaceship data, as long as the data was collected and placed in the escape pod, even if the spaceship couldn’t be saved, at least the data could be brought back.

Rumble!

The Vulcan cannon fired!

A terrifying flame wave instantly tore apart the creatures ahead.

In an instant, a bloody mist filled the air, flesh exploding like a puddle of mud.

Whish!

The spaceship sliced through the bloody mist and rushed into the swirling clouds.

Those creatures seemed crazy and also rushed into the clouds, wanting to continue the hunt.

However, the terrifying thunderstorm exploded in the clouds.

These creatures are not bird-type mutant beasts and don’t have insulating feathers.

Many were hit by the thunderstorm and instantly turned to ash!

Yangshan No. 1 swiftly passed through the clouds, continuously descending.

Suddenly, Jiang Hui expressed horror and shouted, ”Not good, the energy system is alarming!”

”What’s the situation?” Fei Kang urgently asked.

”Just now, that Vulcan cannon shot used up a lot of energy, the energy system warns us we’re running out of power.”

Everyone was suddenly filled with a mix of anger and shock.

Next to him, Wu Zhengyu immediately said, ”What about shutting down the attack system?”

”The attack system has already been shut down,” Xu Huang hastily replied.

”What about the defense system?”

”The defense system can’t be shut down. We’re in the Thunderstorm Zone. If the defense system is turned off, the aircraft might be immediately damaged by the thunderstorm!”

”Quick, see if there’s anywhere else we can conserve energy!”

The group hurriedly checked, but now, amidst the clouds, there was no way to contact the control tower.

At this moment, Xu Huang’s eyes suddenly narrowed as he looked at the outside monitoring, exclaiming, ”What is that!”

Everyone turned to look and saw, in the thunderclouds ahead, a terrifying giant beast of lightning rapidly swimming towards them.

All were greatly shocked.

Could there be organisms living in such terrifying thunderclouds?

In the vast expanse of lightning, countless electric sparks flickered, making its true shape indistinguishable, resembling a ball of light rushing towards them at high speed.

Xu Huang immediately said, ”It’s heading towards us!”

”Prepare the attack system!”

”Wait, we can’t fire the Vulcan Cannon anymore, we’re running out of energy!” Jiang Hui hurriedly stopped them.

”It’s coming, the alarm system has already alerted us!” Song Fei immediately shouted to remind them.

Xu Huang didn’t hesitate for a moment, immediately activating the Vulcan Cannon attack system.

Boom!

Terrifying flames transformed into a gigantic shockwave, exploding out with a roar.

The flames collided with the thunderball.

Immediately, there was a deafening explosion.

Following that, they saw the lightning explode, revealing what was inside.

It turned out not to be the mutant beast everyone imagined!

But a silver-white spacecraft!

Its shape resembled a UFO from science fiction novels, flying through the lightning with a spin.

Now, after being shattered and surrounded by lightning, its exterior instantly surged with a large amount of rune light.

As the runes circulated, a large amount of lightning was immediately absorbed by it, forming a massive thunderball light shield!

All the shocking thunder and lightning not only didn’t harm it but instead charged its lightning barrier!

Seeing this, Xu Huang and the others on the spacecraft immediately showed looks of horror!

”UFO?”

”Aliens?”

”Hell, it’s not a mutant beast?”

Everyone was shocked, but at this moment that UFO-like spacecraft was charging towards them at extreme speed!

Seeing this, Fei Kang didn’t have time to think, directly shouted, ”Head back!”

Buzz!

The propulsion engine roared fiercely, rushing downward madly through the clouds!

Whoosh——

A huge tearing sound directly ripped through the clouds, continuously rushing down.

But within two minutes, the energy engine issued a warning!

”Warning! Insufficient energy! Please recharge immediately!”

”Warning! Insufficient energy! Please recharge immediately!”

Hearing the alarm, everyone in the cabin showed panicked expressions.

Song Fei angrily said, ”Damn it, we’re running out of energy!”

”What do we do now?”

”That UFO is still chasing us!”

”We’re doomed, we won’t make it back this time!”

Xu Huang was also pale, his mind filled with thoughts of his sister and mother.

He regretted firing that Vulcan Cannon just now.

It consumed way too much energy.

But without firing it, they couldn’t have stopped that UFO.

While everyone was at a loss, Fei Kang suddenly said, ”I have an idea!”

”What?” Everyone immediately looked at him.

Fei Kang said, ”We can utilize free fall to descend, directly shutting down the propulsion system to conserve some energy.”

”Then, after passing through the thunderclouds, restart the propulsion system to decelerate.”

Xu Huang asked, ”But doing that, we’ll be sitting ducks!”

Indeed, shutting down the propulsion system meant they would only descend with gravity, unable to make any evasive maneuvers.

If the UFO behind caught up, they would only face certain death!

”It’s a desperate plan, otherwise with insufficient power, we can’t land safely at all!” Fei Kang gritted his teeth.

The other few exchanged glances and eventually nodded.

Immediately, they swiftly shut down the related energy systems, leaving only the defense and reconnaissance systems!

Buzz buzz buzz!

With the shutdown of various functional systems, the energy engine went silent, and the entire spacecraft suddenly plummeted like a meteor straight down.

This sudden change made the UFO above pause for a moment, nearly overtaking them in an instant.

Once it regained composure, it immediately dived after Yangshan No. 1.

Within Yangshan No. 1, the radar system rapidly alarmed!

”Warning! Unknown object approaching!”

”Warning! Unknown object approaching!”

As the alarm continued, the radar system showed the object approaching them at high speed.

Wu Zhengyu quickly said, ”No way, the other side is accelerating, its descent speed far surpasses free fall acceleration!”

”Check if it can overtake us before we break through the cloud layer?” Fei Kang immediately asked.

Wu Zhengyu calculated swiftly, ”It can’t catch up, but once out of the cloud layer, it might catch us!”

”We’ll deal with it once we’re out!” Fei Kang gritted his teeth.

Xu Huang also said, ”Once out of the cloud layer, the defense system won’t be hit by these thunderstorms, and energy consumption will greatly decrease, then the propulsion system can work normally!”

Currently, what’s consuming their energy most is actually not the two Vulcan Cannon shots earlier, but the defense system energy shield!

In this thunderstorm zone, it’s constantly being hit by the storm, the defense system’s energy shield is under immense pressure, almost constantly consuming energy.
