Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1363 - 696: First Breakthrough of the Thundercloud

”Vrrrm!”

”Alert! Alert! Energy Shield power insufficient, please recharge immediately!”

”Alert! Energy Shield power insufficient, please recharge immediately!”

Ten thousand meters high in the sky, within the endless Thundercloud.

A manned spacecraft tore through the air at high speed, desperately sprinting toward the sky above the cloud layer.

”Captain! We’re running out of energy!”

A crew member shouted anxiously.

”How can it be running out? We’ve only been charging up through here for a few seconds?” The captain piloting in front roared.

”The thunderstorm outside is too strong, our ship’s Energy Shield is getting hit too fast, the ship’s energy is being consumed at a crazy rate!”

The captain clenched his teeth and immediately bellowed, ”Activate the Strong Power Charging System!”

”Captain, you want to start it now?”

”Captain, the Strong Power Charging System is just an experimental weapon designed by Professor Huang and the others. If it can’t withstand the thunderstorm, the whole ship will be destroyed!”

”Activate it now! If we don’t start it now, are we supposed to wait until the ship’s Energy Shield completely loses power and gets blasted apart? Move it!”

With his order, the four‑person team inside the spacecraft immediately scrambled into action.

”No. 1 energy conversion unit online!”

”No. 2 component unit online!”

”No. 3 defense system loading!”

...

As a series of electronic prompts sounded, runes all over the outer hull of the ship lit up rapidly.

On these Runes, streams of energy light began to flow, quickly flooding and converging over the ship’s exterior, forming a massive Rune Array.

This Rune Array formed and wrapped the entire spacecraft inside.

And right at this moment, the Energy Shield protecting the spacecraft shattered with a boom!

In an instant, countless Thunderbolts roared in, surging like a furious tide, crashing down upon the spacecraft.

Rumble rumble rumble...

Violent booming explosions rang out.

Terrifying Thunderbolt blasts, billions of volts of electricity, crashed down.

One could hear endless thunderous bangs as the terrifying Thunderbolts struck the surface of the ship, but in the next moment, the Runes on the ship’s surface seemed to be suddenly activated.

All the voltage energy of these lightning strikes was absorbed by the Runes.

The Energy Shield that had vanished flickered back into existence in an instant and was actually restored!

”We did it! It worked!”

”Hahaha, we did it, Captain, the ship’s Energy Shield system has successfully recharged!”

”One recharge and the ship’s energy is completely topped up!”

”Professor Huang and their Strong Power Charging System really works!”

”Look, look, Captain, we’re about to break through the cloud layer!”

”Hahaha, we’re finally going to break through this thunderstorm cloud that’s been raging for almost two full years!”

Vrrrm!

With an ultrasonic buzz, this spacecraft, which didn’t look very large, boomed as it shot out of the heavy cloud layer.

In that instant, long‑lost sunlight fell upon its exterior.

This was a ship about the size of a single seagoing vessel.

The entire ship’s appearance was also very similar to an aircraft, with a streamlined aerospace design.

White insulating paint coated the outside of the craft, and on the underside of its left wing, four large red characters were sprayed across it.

[Guangfu Military]!

This spacecraft was actually a Guangfu Military vessel!

They had actually developed a ship capable of penetrating Thunderclouds!

If Liang Yuan saw this scene, he would definitely be shocked.

Even though the Guangfu Military cooperated with Yangshan, there were still many secret technologies they had never revealed!

And now the Guangfu Military had independently developed a spacecraft that could shuttle through Thunderclouds.

This was something Yangshan was still unable to achieve!

Yangshan’s technological accumulation was still far too shallow.

Even though they had specially set up an R&D department, it was still not enough to make up for the gap with the military.

”Initiate ground signal link!”

Inside the spacecraft, the captain gave a rapid order.

The operator beside him quickly worked over an electronic screen, and after a moment, replied anxiously, ”Captain, we can’t reach the ground.”

”The magnetic interference is too strong.”

”Activate the Rune communications system.”

”Yes, sir!”

”Rune communications system online, transmitting signal!”

”Captain, we’ve got a signal!”

All of a sudden, the operator shouted excitedly.

In the next moment, the signal on the screen flickered, snowflakes of static appeared.

Shortly after, an image appeared on the screen.

On the other side of the feed was a massive viewing hall, with many senior military officers gathered there.

There were also all kinds of scientific researchers present.

As the leaders of the Guangfu Military, Spirit, Feng Jiangong, and Zhang Wenjing were all there.

At this moment, as the feed connected, aboard the Guangfu Military No. 1 spacecraft, Captain Pu Jiantian spoke up, ”Headquarters, Headquarters, this is Guangfu Military manned spacecraft No. 1. We have now passed through the Thundercloud layer and arrived above the Celestial Abyss. Do you copy?”

”We did it!”

”Hahaha, it’s done! We succeeded!”

In an instant, the viewing room erupted in cheers; all the researchers and all the high‑ranking military officers couldn’t help but show expressions of wild joy.

Spirit immediately picked up the microphone and quickly said, ”Guangfu Military No. 1, this is Headquarters, I am Spirit, I am Spirit!”

”Report your current status and the level of damage to the spacecraft at once.”

”Roger that. Reporting to Sir, the spacecraft is currently in perfect condition. Professor Huang’s Strong Power Charging System helped us resolve a huge problem.”

”At present the ship is operating normally, and we have not encountered any Celestial Abyss creatures attacking.”

”Relay the visuals you’re seeing.”

”Yes, sir!”

With the ship’s acknowledgment, the feed switched, and everyone in the viewing room looked up at the scene they had long ago seen through Pei Yuanhu’s [Soul Parasitism].

They saw the blazing sun high in the sky, clouds drifting like mist.

Gigantic Floating mountain ranges, Floating Islands, and Floating landmasses appeared before their eyes.

Under the sunlight, the clouds split the light, forming a mesmerizing seven‑colored radiance.

Large and small halos appeared in the air, with rainbows visible everywhere.

Huge flying objects, each so strange they defied naming, roared as they soared through the sky, shuttling back and forth between those colossal Floating Islands.

Everyone stared blankly at the scene before their eyes.

It was as if they had stepped into another world.

This world was like the Outer Heaven from myth and legend.

Not only were there floating immortal mountains and Divine Beasts riding the clouds and mist, there was also rosy light filling the sky, bizarre and dazzling.

In this moment, the Immortal Grotto Heavens and celestial courts recorded in ancient books seemed to truly be reflected into reality.

Just as everyone was watching in a daze, an alarm suddenly sounded from the other side of the video feed—the ship’s alarm!

”Beep beep beep—Alert, unidentified lifeform approaching!”

”Alert! Unidentified lifeform approaching!”

The incessant alarms instantly made everyone’s expression change!

”Captain! An unidentified lifeform is closing in!”

”Hurry, activate the Energy Shield defense system!”

”Defense shield is online!”

”Activate the cloaking device!”

”Cloaking device engaged!”

Buzz buzz buzz—

The ship kept sending out deep vibrations.

Right after that, the sky suddenly darkened.

The monitoring feed went black, then turned into rolling snowflakes, losing all signal transmission.

Zhang Yujiang hurriedly shouted, ”Guangfu One! Guangfu One! Do you copy? Please respond! Do you copy? Please respond!”

No sound came from the other side; the signal seemed to have been completely cut off.

Zhang Yujiang immediately turned his head and looked at Pei Yuanhu beside him.

”Pei Yuanhu, what’s the situation now?”

Pei Yuanhu’s eyes were closed; his Spirit consciousness seemed to be entirely elsewhere.

They only heard him speak quickly, ”A giant Mutant Beast is attacking the ship.”

”The defense system has already kicked in. The ship is currently making a rapid escape, flying toward a nearby Floating Island.”

”The cloaking device is ineffective against this Mutant Beast; it doesn’t seem to hunt using a visual system.”

It turned out that a Mutant Beast had long since been sent up aboard Guangfu One.

This Mutant Beast was a Shadow Beast, a Dark Attribute mutant creature, and had been soul-parasitized by Pei Yuanhu.

Ever since the clash with Liang Yuan, the military had discovered that Dark Attribute Mutant Beasts’ Shadow Ability was absolutely outrageous, able to evade most Physical Attacks.

If this ability were applied to military reconnaissance, it would be practically unstoppable.

Pei Yuanhu had thought of this as well, so after applying with Zhang Yujiang and the others, he searched everywhere for Dark Attribute Mutant Beasts.

They really did manage to find a Dark Attribute Shadow Beast later on, called a Flying Shadow Sparrow.

It wasn’t a particularly large flying Mutant Beast, just a common forest sparrow that had mutated.

It did not possess the ability to shuttle through Thunderclouds and had always lived deep in the mountains and forests.

The military had gone through a lot of trouble to capture this Flying Shadow Sparrow and make it the object of Pei Yuanhu’s soul parasitism.

Now, this Flying Shadow Sparrow had followed the ship, passed through the cloud layers, and entered the sky above the Celestial Abyss.

Although the signal was currently cut off, as a soul parasite, Pei Yuanhu could still use the host to see what was happening in the sky.

Right now he was giving a live, real-time narration, letting everyone know what was going on up there.

”The ship has entered the airspace above a nearby Floating Island—what! How is that possible!”

All of a sudden, Pei Yuanhu let out a sharp cry of shock.

Zhang Yujiang and the others all changed expression and quickly questioned him.

”What happened?”

”Pei Yuanhu, what is it?”

”Hurry up and talk.”

Pei Yuanhu took a deep breath, his face full of disbelief, and spoke rapidly, ”A city! I saw a city!”

”There’s a city on that Floating Island!”

The moment he said this, everyone showed a look of shock!

A city?

Up there in the sky, on those Floating Islands, there was actually a city?

Feng Jiangong immediately asked, ”What kind of city?”

”A modern city, with high-rise buildings, concrete structures!”

”There are also all kinds of aircraft, ship-like vehicles, and above the city, there’s an Energy Shield defense!”

”What!”

”How is that possible!”

”Is it a human city?”

”Are there living beings?”

Everyone started firing off questions all at once.

They only heard Pei Yuanhu say urgently, ”I saw them—there are living beings, they’re Superpower Users!”

”There’s written information in the city... ’Sprout’...”

”It’s written in our modern script, and they’re driving us away!”

”Not good, they’re attacking us!”

Poof!

As soon as the words left his mouth, Pei Yuanhu suddenly opened his jaws and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

His aura instantly weakened by several degrees, his face turning pale.

Opening his eyes, Pei Yuanhu’s expression was a mix of shock and fury.

The others hurriedly came over.

Zhang Wenjing immediately asked, ”Are you alright?”

”What’s the situation?” Feng Jiangong promptly pressed.

Zhang Yujiang handed over a vial of potion and said, ”Take the potion first to stabilize your injuries.”

Pei Yuanhu took the potion, drank it down, and some color returned to his face.

Ever since Liang Yuan had returned his Spirit avatar from the Tidal Main Brain, his Spiritual Power had clearly become much stronger.

He now said, ”I’m fine, Chief. On the Floating Islands above, some other force has already landed ahead of us and has actually built a city!”

”I saw two large characters, ’Sprout’, above that city, and a banner with an icon of a Green plant sprouting.”

”The characters are in modern simplified Chinese, and those buildings look very new.”

”That city shouldn’t have been built very long ago.”
