Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1369 - 702: Intelligence Brought by Zhuang Shuyuan

”Mr. Liang, what should we do now?”

”The military has already developed the technology to break through the thunderclouds. Shouldn’t we accelerate our spaceship research too?”

Zhuang Shuyuan asked.

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, ”We certainly must. In the Flood World, land no longer exists. Relying solely on Yangshan and Floating Island can only support a limited population.”

”Moreover, once winter passes and the ice and snow melt, there’s a chance that Yangshan could be submerged as well.”

”By then, the only place where we can survive will be the Floating Island.”

”But the Floating Island has limited capacity for both its load and its population.”

Ever since Liang Yuan observed the existence of Abyss Island, he had understood this.

The Floating Island won’t float on the water’s surface forever.

Once the weight it bears exceeds its buoyancy, even a Floating Island would sink and become part of an Abyss Island.

Therefore, the population on the Floating Island must be strictly controlled.

But to expand and grow in power, increasing the population is a necessary route.

Besides occupying more Floating Islands, the best solution is to seize a Floating Island in the sky!

Liang Yuan realized this almost instantly.

After thinking for a moment, he said, ”Send someone to the military soon and try to negotiate, see if we can purchase their spaceship technology.”

”I don’t have much hope; our insider says the military intends to block information about the spaceship from the outside, likely to guard against us,” Zhuang Shuyuan said.

Liang Yuan understood as well. The military is blocking information from outside, what other major powers are there outside?

Only their Yangshan remains.

So this action by the military is naturally aimed at Yangshan.

Liang Yuan was not surprised by this.

He said, ”Try to see. If the military is willing to cooperate, that would be best. If not, it’s fine. Our spaceship technology has already been developed, and preparations for a test flight are underway.”

”I asked you to monitor the situation in Baoshan City. Any news?”

Zhuang Shuyuan shook her head slightly, ”According to our investigation, Mist City has now constructed an Ice and Snow City, and the ice connecting to Beichen Island has already melted.”

”It seems like Mist City plans to give up Beichen Island.”

Liang Yuan frowned, ”Give up Beichen Island?”

He rubbed his chin, pondering what Ling Yurong was intending to do.

Would their opponent really go through the trouble of building an Ice and Snow City just for habitation?

Considering the uniqueness of the Ice and Snow City, which could even form an array, Liang Yuan felt this was not so simple.

Ancient Superpower Users have lived for a long time, and their understanding of superpowers and runes surely surpasses modern Superpower Users.

So one must not underestimate these Ancient Superpower Users.

Humanity over the years has made progress in technology, but wisdom hasn’t changed much.

Don’t assume ancient people were fools. If you think that way, you’ll be the one to suffer in the end.

”Continue monitoring, don’t be careless.”

Zhuang Shuyuan, feeling puzzled, couldn’t help but ask, ”Why are you so concerned about Mist City? Chang Yuntao is already dead, why not just reclaim Mist City?”

Liang Yuan looked at her, thought for a moment, then didn’t hide it and directly told her about Ling Yurong’s existence.

Zhuang Shuyuan, upon hearing this, her beautiful face was filled with shock.

”An Ancient Superpower User still alive today? How... how is that possible? Who can live that long?”

She was so shocked she couldn’t speak momentarily.

Regarding Ancient Superpower Users, we currently only know about Han Xiangman and a few others, and Liang Yuan hasn’t disclosed this to the higher-ups of Yangshan yet.

For one, speaking out would only cause panic, and currently handling Ling Yurong relies on himself.

Liang Yuan said, ”For now, you don’t need to tell anyone else, just know it yourself.”

”By the way, regarding the Guangfu Military’s mention of the ancient tomb, has there been any progress since?”

Speaking of this, Zhuang Shuyuan gathered her thoughts and immediately said, ”Strangely enough, they did send people over last time, inviting our people to explore that ancient tomb together. But then nothing happened.”

”Even when we inquired again, they outright said that the ancient tomb had disappeared.”

”I always felt something was odd.”

Liang Yuan’s eyes flickered, suddenly thinking of how the military’s Rune Technology level has greatly advanced, even developing spaceship technology—could it be related to the ancient tomb?

Could the military have also discovered an Ancient Superpower User’s tomb?

Liang Yuan thought for a moment and said, ”Our spaceship technology has made significant breakthroughs on our end, and it’s currently in testing.”

”You try in the future to gather intelligence from the military to figure out how they managed to advance spaceship technology so quickly.”

Zhuang Shuyuan nodded, indicating her understanding.

The two then discussed nearby power dynamics.

Currently, Mist City is the only dominant power left on Beichen Island.

The Guangfu Military operates independently, focused on developing in the sky.

Yet, Ji’an City over there has been causing a lot of trouble.

”What’s happening in Ji’an City?”

Liang Yuan asked, surprised.

Ji’an City is located upstream from Linjiang, bordering Linjiang City, and Furong Valley lies on the boundary between Ji’an City and Linjiang City.

”I heard that there was a turmoil in Ji’an City, with the five major shelters fighting over food resources.”

”Nowadays, there are more and more refugees outside Yangshan, many of whom have fled from Ji’an City.”

When Liang Yuan heard this, he was somewhat surprised: ”Food resources? Now the water surface is frozen, breaking the ice to catch fish shouldn’t be difficult, right?”

Zhuang Shuyuan sighed helplessly and said, ”Only eating fish for a long time will kill people.”

”People can’t just eat meat; they need to eat carbohydrates and vegetables.”

”But these things need to grow from the soil. Now, in the depths of winter, there’s no place for vegetables to grow on the land; outside, there aren’t any mutant plants like mutated sunflowers.”

Liang Yuan couldn’t help but sigh, realizing he had overlooked this point.

But then he asked, ”Does Ji’an City have floating islands?”

”Yes, and more than one.”

”According to the refugees on the ice outside, Ji’an City has three floating islands and a dozen mountains.”

”At present, most high mountains are controlled by the forces of these three floating islands, only some remote medium-sized peaks have independent forces.”

”Furong Valley is one of them, but recently, the Lin family siblings sent news that Furong Valley couldn’t hold on anymore. [Meteor Island] has sent people several times to attack Furong Valley, and their Valley Master Ma Gaoxuan can hardly hold on.”

Liang Yuan’s mind flashed back to the tall, thin man he saw at the Dark Abyss Mouth.

Liang Yuan remembered that this person seemed to be a speed-type superpower user, but it didn’t seem like ordinary speed power.

Liang Yuan asked, ”What is this Meteor Island?”

Zhuang Shuyuan said, ”Meteor Island is a floating island. Ji’an City has a total of three floating islands, namely Meteor Island, Elephant Island, and Oasis Island.”

”Each of these islands has its own characteristics. Meteor Island is named because meteor-like lights often streak across the defense shield on the island.”

”Elephant Island is named because its shape resembles an elephant.”

”Oasis Island is referred to as such because it is lush with trees all year round and rich in resources.”

Liang Yuan immediately inquired, ”What attributes do these three islands have?”

Zhuang Shuyuan said, ”Meteor Island seems to be related to speed attributes, Elephant Island is a strength attribute island, and Oasis Island is a wood attribute island.”

”But these are just rumors from the superpower users outside. The specific situation is unknown, that place is too far from us, and we don’t have the manpower to send for investigation.”

Liang Yuan touched his chin; to think there are three islands with distinctly different attributes.

And they are all different from the floating island attributes associated with Yangshan.

”Find a way to connect with these forces and see if we can purchase a batch of genetic species from them.”

”Nowadays our Yangshan population is increasing, and the number of superpower users is growing, with all types of superpower users present. We need various types of genetic species.”

Zhuang Shuyuan nodded slightly, ”I’m just afraid they won’t want to trade.”

Liang Yuan said, ”Try to make contact first. If they’re really unwilling, then I’ll personally go over.”

Since the apocalypse of the great flood, the laws of survival have long changed.

Some things are not up to your unwillingness, others might still force you.

Now, the bigger fists mean truth.

Liang Yuan felt that he’s maintaining a high moral standard, at least he’s not directly going to rob, but thinking of equal transactions.

If it were the Three Great Sects or Mist City’s Ling Yurong, they would probably take action directly.

Three days later, the R&D department selected ten volunteers to participate in the test flight mission.

These ten volunteers required a week’s training.

Once they complete the training, they can receive mission rewards.

Among these people was Xu Huang.

”Brother, why are you back so late?”

That day, after finishing training, Xu Huang returned to the tent.

His sister Xu Lei hurried up to him. Seeing Xu Huang empty-handed, she quickly asked, ”Still no harvest today?”

Xu Huang didn’t dare tell his sister the truth. He only said, ”Not much harvest, just bought some food. Here, I bought some meat buns from a store near the fishing grounds, you try.”

Xu Lei’s eyes widened in surprise: ”Meat buns? That’s very expensive, right? Brother, we have to save our points.”

Xu Huang felt a pang in his heart and said, ”It’s okay, I’ll catch some fish tomorrow, we can’t always eat fish, can we?”

Upon seeing this, Xu Lei said no more, quickly boiled water to steam the buns, and added some fish jerky to the morning’s rice porridge.

Moments later, once the buns were heated, she quickly took them out, not eating herself but handing one to Xu Huang instead.

”Brother, you eat first.”

”I’m not hungry, you eat first.”

”No, you first. If you don’t eat, I won’t either.”

Xu Huang smiled and took a bite, making Xu Lei smile.

”I’ll eat half, and save some for when Mom wakes up.”

Watching this scene, Xu Huang couldn’t help a nose that felt sore and promised silently to work hard to pass the assessment, so his mother and sister could move into Yangshan!

These days, he learned the survival conditions in the Mirage Snake Space are much better than in Yangshan.

It’s said there are large plantings of mutated sunflowers there, and the temperature isn’t as cold as outside.

Also, there are buildings not flooded there, people can have their own homes rather than crowding in tents.

These living conditions, most common before the apocalypse, have become everyone’s dream survival environment now.

A week passed in the blink of an eye.

That day, Xu Huang, with an anxious heart, came to the R&D department, waiting for them to announce the list.
