From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

At the dining table, the men were drinking and celebrating, while the women were chatting and whispering.

This reunion dinner lasted for a full hour!

By the time they dispersed, everyone was still savoring the moment and agreed to continue in the evening.

Mu Shuangshuang and Yu Si Niang stayed behind to tidy up the dining hall, with Zhao Yun helping out on the side.

Before long, the three of them finished cleaning up the dining hall!

Mu Shuangshuang returned to her room and took out the gifts she brought for everyone.

Fabric for making clothes for Zhang Yutou and Zhao Gouzi’s families, a cane for Fu Wu, gifts for Taohua’s unborn child, and some small accessories for the women.

For Fu Xiaonan, it was a silk handkerchief embroidered with a pair of mandarin ducks.

When everyone received their gifts, their faces blossomed with joy.

Mu Shuangshuang also took out the playing cards she made from wood two years ago during New Year’s.

She taught the women how to play ”Fight the Landlord” so that they would have entertainment and leisure activities, while Mu Shuangshuang and Yu Dahai discussed the new opening of the restaurant in the side hall.

Yu Dahai said, ”Shuangshuang, this time, almost the entire town knows about us buying First-class Residence! Everyone is waiting for us to open, to see what we’ll make of this restaurant!”

Mu Shuangshuang actually knew these things well.

The restaurants in town were envious of Chengfeng Restaurant.

This time, knowing Chengfeng Restaurant made such a big move, they were all waiting to watch the show!

Unfortunately, she hadn’t returned, and Yu Dahai didn’t know how to confront the challenge, so he just waited around town.

Fortunately, Shuangshuang came back!

With a leader at Chengfeng Restaurant, there’s no need to hide and dodge anymore!

”Since everyone is waiting for a spectacle, we definitely can’t let them down! If we’re doing this, we have to do the best!” Mu Shuangshuang squinted, looking at Yu Dahai.

”That’s exactly what I think!”

”Opening on the eighteenth day of the first month, there are two days left before opening. Tomorrow I’ll go to town to assign some tasks! By the way, has the restaurant’s sanitation been cleaned? We probably need to hire more people, right?” Mu Shuangshuang asked.

”Yes! I’ve sent people to clean every day these days! Hiring is definitely necessary, and I estimate we’ll need three hands, two for odd jobs and sanitation, a total of five people!

The kitchen also needs people, but I’m planning to let Wang Guilan go; she cooks well and can learn from Wei Dacong to cook! Once she learns, Wei Dacong’s burden will be lighter!”

Yu Dahai explained his plan one by one.

Mu Shuangshuang nodded repeatedly, indicating her approval.

”But, we need to find reliable people we’re familiar with. In the past, when our restaurant was small, there were people who betrayed us for petty gains. Now that the restaurant is the largest in town, we need to be even more cautious against such people!” Mu Shuangshuang said.

”Finding people isn’t a problem; I know a few who left other restaurants, decent and hardworking, definitely won’t slack off!

It’s just that everyone is new and unfamiliar with the others at the restaurant, so there might be a period of adjustment to get used to the rhythm of our restaurant!”

Yu Dahai, the steward, was very responsible, considering all aspects for Mu Shuangshuang.

Listening to him, Mu Shuangshuang immediately felt she had chosen the right steward!

”A period of adjustment is normal; everyone in our restaurant has gone through it! Fortunately, everyone is easy to get along with; after enduring these years, I will fulfill my promise and let everyone be a shareholder of Chengfeng Restaurant!”

The term ”shareholder” was explained by Mu Shuangshuang to Yu Dahai, and he knew what it meant.

Moreover, Yu Dahai currently holds a small portion of shares.

So, the work he does is not only for Mu Shuangshuang but also for himself.

”The staff are very motivated! Shuangshuang, you are the most unique owner I’ve ever seen!

Other owners fear the staff will run away after saving money, so they keep exploiting us.

But you not only raise our wages according to business, but you also give us hope, making us feel like we won’t live this way forever.”

Yu Dahai was visibly moved, his words of praise for Mu Shuangshuang were endless.

Mu Shuangshuang was so embarrassed by his words that her face turned red.

”Brother Yu, I’m doing this for myself too! When everyone’s enthusiasm is high, the restaurant’s business will be more attentive, service will naturally improve, and relatively, I’ll earn more too!” Mu Shuangshuang explained.

Yu Dahai shook his head helplessly, ”You, you’re just too humble! But it’s rare, you’re so young and not at all impulsive like other young people!”

Yu Dahai couldn’t find the words to describe Mu Shuangshuang.

”Brother Yu, let’s not talk about this; let’s discuss the opening of the new restaurant...”

Mu Shuangshuang and Yu Dahai talked all afternoon, from new restaurant opening to utilizing the old restaurant.

The two made comprehensive plans, considering various issues.

Meanwhile, Xia Guagua was at home calculating how to sell her long-overstocked restaurant.

Xia Guagua had been looking for a buyer for her restaurant, but due to its tarnished reputation, no one wanted to buy it, and since it’s opposite Chengfeng Restaurant, no one dared to take a chance!

Now the situation is different; Xia Guagua knew Mu Shuangshuang was opening a new restaurant.

So her Xia Guagua’s restaurant would no longer have a competitor, making it easier to sell.

Just as Xia Guagua was thinking about this, Gu Jiulian walked in with dinner.

A bit of porridge, a few withered pickled vegetables, and that black fermented soybean—this was the reunion dinner for Lantern Festival night.

”Why is it these things again?” Xia Guagua asked irritably.

”Can’t help it, the family only has these few good things! You refuse to marry Wang San or take out money, having food is not bad!”

Gu Jiulian’s attitude wasn’t good.

”If I marry Wang San, will you give me good things? If I take out money, will you improve the family’s meals? Mother, your nature, others may not know clearly, but I see it clearly; don’t treat me like a three-year-old child!”

Xia Guagua gave no friendly expression to Gu Jiulian.

Gu Jiulian was so furious she almost lost her breath, just about to point at Xia Guagua and scold her when Xia Guagua said, ”Go ahead and scold, see if I’ll still support you or give you a penny!”

One sentence, like squeezing Gu Jiulian’s throat, immediately quelled her arrogance.

She had to apologize to Xia Guagua, ”Gua Gua, don’t be angry, mother didn’t mean it!

Mother is worried about you, think about it, Wang San, although getting old, his family does have money.

In the past, his family drove him out because he hadn’t found a wife.

Now you marry him, he’d naturally have a reason to return! Then, you’ll enjoy life with Wang San in town.”
