Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique

Chapter 1399: Chapter 35: Three Kowtows Before the Buddha

The Reclining Buddha had no trace of aura, and upon close inspection, it looked like a sculpture.

It might be hard to believe that this was transformed from an innate spiritual being.

Lin Feng, however, had no doubt about it.

The Taoist Hall would not cautiously and solemnly preserve a mere sculpture like this.

Lin Feng came before the Reclining Buddha and carefully observed it.

This should be an Old Buddha with kindly brows and a compassionate gaze, exuding a certain sense of empathy for the world.

”There were Ancient Buddhas before Buddhism existed; I wonder if today’s Buddhist doctrines are related to this Innate Buddha?” Lin Feng mused.

”This is...” Lin Feng was startled, noticing something peculiar.

There were several broken runes on the Reclining Buddha’s forehead.

”The forehead connects to the Purple Mansion, which is the entry to a cultivator’s mind, so the forehead is extremely important for cultivators. Why does the Reclining Buddha have broken runes on its forehead?”

Lin Feng had difficulty calming his mind.

If these runes were not broken, Lin Feng might not find anything strange about them.

But now,

these runes have been broken.

The presence of broken runes at this location could certainly suggest something.

For instance, could the fall of this Innate Buddha be related to the broken runes?

Upon closer thought, there is no reason to rule out this possibility.

But everything is just Lin Feng’s speculation, and what these broken runes truly represent has long since become a mystery, buried with the fall of the Innate Buddha in history.

Lin Feng sat cross-legged and took out the nine-colored Illusion Stones.

Lin Feng held a piece of nine-colored Illusion Stone in each hand.

Soon, Lin Feng fell into sudden enlightenment.

He hoped to gain some insight here.

It is unclear how much time had passed, but vaguely, Lin Feng felt a unique aura enveloping him.

That was the aura of the Tao.

”The Reclining Buddha is alive!” Lin Feng murmured to himself.

He carefully tried to sense it; gradually, Lin Feng seemed to see a blurry world appearing before his eyes.

Mist enveloped it.

Clear the mist to see the brightness of the moon.

But the key was, despite Lin Feng’s repeated efforts and attempts, success remained elusive.

Lin Feng opened his eyes and furrowed his brow slightly; he couldn’t help but mutter, ”The Tao here possesses a particular power that makes people unable to comprehend its secret technique.”

He got up and walked a circle around the Reclining Buddha.

Then Lin Feng, facing the Reclining Buddha, sat down once more.

This time, Lin Feng began to operate the ”Great Crossing Technique.”

This is the supreme divine skill passed down through Buddhism, and operating the Great Crossing Technique might help comprehend the Tao here.

Gradually, Lin Feng once again saw that blurry world.

He felt that behind that hazy world, there seemed to be countless Daos.

But!!

Whether those Daos can be comprehended depends on luck.

The Taoist aura of the Great Crossing Technique flowed like a bright lantern,

illuminating a way forward for him in the pitch-black night.

Although this path appeared narrow,

Lin Feng resolutely and unwaveringly walked forward.

Finally, he traversed the hazy world.

Endless golden light dispelled the darkness.

The golden light was so dazzling that Lin Feng couldn’t keep his eyes open.

Immediately, an ancient, vast, and majestic voice echoed.

”Buddhas existed before Buddhism; Immortals existed before Heaven!”

That voice seemed to emanate from an ancient existence that transcended the Heavenly Dao, making Lin Feng feel the urge to kneel and worship the mysterious being within the golden light.

......

Lin Feng restrained the impulse to kneel, pondering those words carefully. The word ”Immortal” deeply moved him.

Immortal.

Ethereal and fleeting.

Lin Feng had heard the legends of the Immortal, an existence that surpasses the Great Emperor, perhaps even transcending the Heavenly Dao.

It is said that the Great Emperor stands on par with the Heavenly Dao.

But the legend of the Immortal seems to be just a mere tale.

Ancient Great Emperors all aspired to become Immortals.

But did anyone truly achieve immortality?

Perhaps it’s all just hearsay.

Who among mortals can achieve immortality?

These words encapsulate the desolate pursuit of the Ancient Great Emperors.

They stand at the pinnacle, watching their loved ones pass away.

In their long lives, they taste the loneliness that life brings.

Seeking immortality through cultivation!

Perhaps it is their only hope.

But all hope seems as fleeting as smoke in the air.

In countless mythical tales, there are accounts of the Great Emperor achieving immortality, but upon investigation, it becomes clear that those tales cannot be taken seriously.

But now, Lin Feng’s sudden enlightenment of the Tao left behind by the Reclining Buddha represents its will.

Immortals existed before Heaven!

What does this mean?

Could it be that Immortals refer to primordial life?

Are those powerful primordial beings the Immortals?

The realm of the primordial life.

Is it the realm that even the Great Emperors, dedicating their lives, could not attain?

Having thought of this, Lin Feng found it hard to calm his inner self.

”Three kowtows before the Buddha!”

Suddenly, from within the golden light, that ancient voice sounded again.

Lin Feng, filled with uncertainty and disbelief, opened his Heavenly Demon Snake Eye and immediately saw, faintly within the golden light, an ancient Buddha sitting cross-legged.

That Buddha!

Seemed to transcend Heaven and Earth.

Enduring through ages.

”One kowtow before the Buddha, past affairs turn to smoke.”

Suddenly, the Old Buddha spoke.

”Is this my chance?” Lin Feng was shocked.

He prayed sincerely,

Wishing for gain!

Lin Feng made one kowtow before the Ancient Buddha.

”Two kowtows before the Buddha, this life’s unfamiliar paths lie ahead!”

......

Once again, that voice echoed, and Lin Feng wondered aloud, doesn’t this ”two kowtows before the Buddha” sound inauspicious?

Does this foretelling of unfamiliar paths mean the hardship in cultivation is like a hero facing their final journey?

Nevertheless, Lin Feng, gritting his teeth, made the second kowtow.

”Three kowtows before the Buddha, Cause and Effect and Reincarnation reside in the heart!”

......

After the third voice fell,

Lin Feng made three kowtows to the Golden Buddha.

Boom!

After finishing the three kowtows, a golden light shot out.

Then it surged into Lin Feng’s mind.

Lin Feng’s expression suddenly jolted.

He fell into a kind of profound and mysterious comprehension.

In this mystical insight, Lin Feng sensed the various matters of the worlds.

Sowing what kind of cause.

Reaping what kind of effect.

This is cause and effect.

All Heavens and Myriads of Realms, billions of lives.

Among Heaven and Earth, all things are the most spiritual.

With cause and effect, it all comes full circle.

...

Lin Feng was immersed in that mystical state of sudden enlightenment.

He sat cross-legged, dignified like a Bodhisattva.

Beside him, the sound of the Great Tao lingered.

It is unknown how much time passed; between Heaven and Earth, the power of Taoist principles surged into Lin Feng’s mind.

Like a beast being enlightened with spiritual intelligence.

Lin Feng opened his eyes; in his gaze, the light of unfathomable wisdom flickered.

”This cause and effect of the worlds all reside within my single thought.”

Lin Feng flicked his finger, between which the power of cause and effect entwined.

This is the third-ranked of the Three Thousand Great Dao, the Great Cause and Effect Skill! The condensed power of cause and effect.
