Capítulo 1367: Chapter 3: Survival Is Hard

Ying’er gazed out, and faintly, she seemed to see a person lying on the rock, motionless, not knowing whether alive or dead.

“How can there be a person there?” Ying’er wondered.

“Why don’t we go and take a look?” Xiaoshen suggested.

Ying’er was kind-hearted, and she nodded, heading towards the distant rock with her younger brother.

The others saw the siblings walking towards the distance and voiced their inquiries about the matter. Xiaoshen pointed to the distant rock, and as they looked, they indeed saw a person.

Curious themselves, they followed along.

The group arrived by the rock, and Xiaoshen said, “Sis, I’ll go see if he’s still alive.”

Ying’er nodded and said, “Be careful!”

“Don’t worry, sis, nothing will happen.” Xiaoshen smiled reassuringly at Ying’er, then climbed up the rock.

Before long, Xiaoshen reached the rock’s top and reached out to place his hand under Lin Feng’s nose to see if Lin Feng was still breathing.

At this moment, Lin Feng suddenly extended his hand and grabbed Xiaoshen’s outstretched hand.

Xiaoshen was startled, struggling repeatedly, but unable to break free.

Lin Feng sat up and released Xiaoshen.

Seeing Xiaoshen and those below, Lin Feng was both shocked and delighted; finding people living here was truly excellent.

This damned world suppressed mana, rendering Divine Sense unusable, and made it impossible to find food or water, leaving Lin Feng extremely frustrated.

The only good news was that he finally saw “living people.”

“You’re still alive, that’s really great,” Xiaoshen breathed a sigh of relief.

But Lin Feng couldn’t understand what they were saying.

This was another language; the languages of Heavenly Martial Continent and this world were not the same.

Seeing Lin Feng not answering him, Xiaoshen asked puzzledly, “You can’t speak, can you?”

Lin Feng nodded; he indeed didn’t understand this world’s language.

Xiaoshen looked towards his sister below and shouted, “Sis, this person seems unable to speak.”

“It’s dangerous up there, hurry down,” Ying’er called out worriedly.

“Let’s go down together, okay?” Xiaoshen gestured to Lin Feng to climb down.

He climbed down first.

Soon after, Lin Feng climbed down too.

Ying’er looked at Lin Feng, noticing that he was very handsome; it was really hard to find such handsome men here.

Perhaps when Xiaoshen grows up, he will be just as handsome?

Seeing Lin Feng’s cracked lips and reddened eyes, Ying’er naturally understood these were caused by thirst and hunger.

Thirst and hunger could even cause bleeding from the eyes, mouth, ears, and nose.

Ying’er bit her lip and took out the taro and a water bag from her arms.

“Ying’er, you’re crazy; if you give it to him, how will you and Xiaoshen survive?” a young man remarked.

“Yes, Ying’er, you also need to survive; you can’t be without food,” others advised.

Food is life.

The need for food in this world surpassed everything.

In Heavenly Martial Continent, Lin Feng could go half a month without eating, as he could absorb Heaven and Earth Energy to sustain himself, but not here.

Here, mana couldn’t be operated, let alone absorbing energy to replenish the body.

Here, he had become an ordinary person.

He would go hungry like an ordinary person and would get injured like an ordinary person.

Perhaps the only difference was that Lin Feng’s body was much stronger than an average person’s.

He could try to compete with terrifying creatures like the Skeleton Giant Lizard.

“Let him eat first; we still have ways,” Ying’er said.

She hesitated, looking at her brother Xiaoshen.

Giving the food to Lin Feng meant that Xiaoshen would inevitably suffer again.

“Sis, I’m fine; let this brother eat quickly,” Xiaoshen said.

Ying’er felt happy about Xiaoshen’s intelligence and kindness and also felt helpless in the face of a tragic fate.

But Ying’er, with a strong and kind character, despite the difficult survival conditions, continued to strive to maintain optimism.

Ying’er handed the taro and water bag to Lin Feng.

Even if he didn’t understand the world’s language, Lin Feng knew the preciousness of food and water.

In this world, the forests were full of Cannibal Flowers and Poisonous Miasma Trees containing severe poison, rarely seen were other plants; the forests were hard-pressed to find wild beasts but many Yin Beasts could be seen hunting.

Therefore, food and water were exceedingly precious.

He looked gratefully at Ying’er and took the half taro and water bag.

The water in the bag was scant, Lin Feng took a sip and coughed violently.

The water was bitter and astringent, its taste incredibly strange, but his body was too dehydrated; despite the unpleasant taste, Lin Feng drank it as though it were Jadescent Nectar.

Then he devoured the dried-out taro ravenously, this kind of food in Heavenly Martial Continent was often fed to pigs, hardly anyone ate this, but in this world, it was lifeline food.

Many looked at Lin Feng with envy, seeing him devour ravenously, involuntarily gulping.

Including Ying’er and Xiaoshen, they felt the same; they were really starving, the long-term lack of food made their bodies appear weak.

“Brother, it’s getting dark soon, Yin Beasts will appear, staying here they’ll eat us, come back with us,” Xiaoshen gestured as he spoke.

Lin Feng could understand Xiaoshen’s hand gestures, his learning ability was strong, inferring the meaning from Xiaoshen’s gestures and language, while learning this world’s language.

Lin Feng followed them back to the village.

The village was located in a valley, with about a thousand people, but Lin Feng didn’t find old people.

Perhaps in such a world, it was hard for anyone to live long.

This was an extremely impoverished village; Lin Feng’s arrival did not cause a sensation in the village.

Because every day, villages like this would be wiped out by Yin Beasts or Skeleton Giant Lizards, though sometimes fortunate ones manage to escape.

In many people’s eyes, Lin Feng probably belonged to such fortunate people.

The village was inhabited in caves; villagers excavated a huge cave leading into the mountain, and within it, dug some smaller caves.

This was the villagers’ home.

Ying’er and Xiaoshen’s home was about six or seven square meters, stacked with some Fire Pattern Stone, used for exchanging food, and a pitcher made from unknown vines and grasses, along with a broken porcelain jar, apart from this, it seemed there was nothing else.

The night was very cold and very frightening, for each night could be their last, Xiaoshen called Lin Feng to sit between him and his sister, they curled up in a corner of the cave for warmth, and used the only blanket to cover themselves.

“Brother, your body is so warm,” Xiaoshen said.

Ying’er seemed to think Lin Feng’s body was warm too, and snuggled in a bit closer.

Roar…

In the second half of the night, a deep roar echoed; it was the sound of a Skeleton Giant Lizard.

At night, Skeleton Giant Lizards came out hunting.

Ying’er and Xiaoshen were awakened, trembling all over, full of horror and helplessness.

The Skeleton Giant Lizard finally left, but shortly after, outside the village, a nearly hundred-meter-long Evil Snake crawled out; the Evil Snake flicked its Snake Core, cold eyes gazing towards the valley.
