Chapter 606: Chapter 3: Amazing Sect Benefits and the Heaven and Earth Ranking

The Griffin Beast landed atop the Inner Disciple Mountain, and soon after, Grand Elder Guo Yan of the Inner Sect Disciple Mountain personally appeared and exchanged greetings with Grand Elder Zhaang Quan. Then, turning to the newly joined disciples, Guo Yan said, ”First of all, congratulations on joining the Azure Cloud Sect’s Inner Academy. Here, you will receive better cultivation. Various cultivation rooms are set up on the Inner Sect Disciple Mountain, which you all may enter to cultivate. However, you are not allowed to enter the deeper Core Disciple’s Mountain at will. Those places are reserved for the core disciples to cultivate in seclusion. If you trespass and get killed, no one will be responsible for you.”

”Yes...”, the numerous disciples quickly responded.

”Additionally, the sect will give you one month to familiarize yourselves with the Inner Academy. After a month, as new Inner Sect disciples, you will go out to complete missions assigned by the sect. The specifics of the missions will be known to you at that time. This is also an assessment by the sect. Only by passing this assessment can you truly become Inner Sect Disciples. If there are problems during the mission period, you will still be sent back to the Outer Disciples,” Guo Yan continued.

Many people’s expressions changed again and again.

They hadn’t expected that after joining the Inner Sect, they would still need to complete assessment missions.

Lin Feng, however, wasn’t worried at all.

With his abilities, Lin Feng believed he could complete any mission smoothly.

...

”Guo Xiao, take them to their residences and arrange their accommodations,” Guo Yan instructed a young man behind him. The young man, in his twenties, quickly responded with a ”Yes.”

Led by Guo Xiao, Lin Feng headed towards the new entry-level disciples’ residence halfway up the mountain. Along the way, Lin Feng noticed quite a few people deliberately trying to converse with Guo Xiao, which puzzled him.

Shee Weizhu whispered, ”Guo Xiao is the son of Grand Elder Guo Yan.”

Lin Feng nodded in understanding. It made sense why so many disciples were keen to build rapport with Guo Xiao—his father Guo Yan held a high position, controlling the fate of all Inner Sect disciples.

Guo Xiao was benefiting from his father’s status.

In the distance, an Immortal Crane flew in, bearing two individuals seated cross-legged.

Both were powerful cultivators of the Yin Yang Realm, flying overhead.

The Immortal Crane landed, and a middle-aged cultivator looked down at the disciples, asking, ”Are these the new disciples who joined the Inner Sect this year?”

Guo Xiao bowed and replied, ”Yes, Senior Uncle Liu, they are the disciples who joined this year.”

Lin Feng then realized that despite his father being the Great Elder of the Inner Sect Disciple Mountain, Guo Xiao did not show any signs of arrogance and was quite humble.

”Um.” The middle-aged cultivator nodded his head and was about to ride the Immortal Crane away when suddenly, a cold voice interrupted.

”Wait.”

...

”What is it, Third Uncle?” Liu Mingcang looked puzzledly at the elderly Liu Qingshan beside him.

The next moment, Lin Feng felt a chilling intent envelop him.

Liu Qingshan stood up and coldly looked towards Lin Feng.

Lin Feng’s expression also changed drastically.

It was Liu Qingshan, the Fifth Elder of the Qingyang Sect!

Lin Feng had a deep grudge with the Qingyang Sect!

Liu Zixu, the grandson of Liu Qingshan, had his Dantian destroyed by Lin Feng, who later went to the Qingyang Sect to take away Zi Ling’er and caused a great disturbance. Since then, the Qingyang Sect had been seeking Lin Feng’s whereabouts.

Yet, they had never found him.

Liu Qingshan had never expected to encounter Lin Feng in the Azure Cloud Sect.

”Damn, wasn’t it said that once the Qingyang Sect grew strong, they wanted to become completely independent and henceforth cease all relations with the Azure Cloud Sect? How did Liu Qingshan end up here?”

Upon seeing Liu Qingshan, Lin Feng’s face grew extremely grim.

As mentioned earlier, the Qingyang Sect was originally a branch of the Azure Cloud Sect.

But since the loss of the Heavenly Repair Skill, the Azure Cloud Sect had gradually declined, whereas the Qingyang Sect’s power continued to grow.

Thus, the Qingyang Sect paid little heed to the Azure Cloud Sect, leading to animosity between the higher-ups of both sects.

In truth, unbeknownst to Lin Feng, although there was indeed animosity between their high-level members, and the Qingyang Sect wanted to break away from Azure Cloud Sect’s influence and indeed ceased interaction, the situation was not absolute, as both sects had myriad connections.

Liu Mingcang was indeed Liu Qingshan’s close nephew, so it was normal for him to move around.

Liu Qingshan gave Lin Feng a deep look before turning to Liu Mingcang and said, ”Let’s go.”

...

Lin Feng slightly furrowed his brows, surprised at Liu Qingshan’s lack of any dramatic response, which put Lin Feng on high alert.

There’s a saying that the biting dog doesn’t bark, and the barking dog doesn’t bite.

Liu Qingshan’s calm departure made Lin Feng feel uneasy.

Guo Xiao gave Lin Feng a meaningful look, then turned his head with a contemplative expression.

Lin Feng and the others were arranged to stay halfway up the mountain, each person getting a room.

Guo Xiao said, ”You all rest for now, tonight, someone will distribute the sect benefits to everyone.”

Soon after, Guo Xiao left.

Everyone began looking forward to the sect benefits, since the benefits for inner sect disciples of the Azure Cloud Sect were undoubtedly beyond what outer disciples could compare to.

At night, about a dozen disciples arrived, led by a tall, extremely beautiful female cultivator named Qin Yao, also an inner sect disciple. It was said that she ranked within the top ten among the inner sect disciples of the Azure Cloud Sect - a true expert.

”Dear junior brothers and sisters, if there’s anything you don’t understand in the coming period, you can ask me for advice. I’ll assist Brother Guo Xiao in taking care of you,” Qin Yao said with a slight smile, waving her hand as the dozen disciples came forward, pulling out storage pouches, and distributing them to everyone.

”This is the sect’s welfare. As you have just entered the inner sect, your first welfare package includes a middle-grade Spiritual Artifact Robe, a high-grade flying sword, a pair of intermediate Spirit Artifact Boots, an intermediate Spirit Artifact Belt, males receive a middle-grade Spirit Artifact Jade Crown, females receive a middle-grade Spirit Artifact Hairpin, plus a hundred high-grade Spiritual Stones, ten Dark Stage Middle Condensing Pills, a book that introduces the sect and various forces named ’All Heaven Record’, and also an Ancient Sword Skill ’Great Sun Clear Sky Sword Skill’, an Ancient Fist Technique ’Ten Thousand Beast Mad Dragon Fist’, and an Ancient Body Movement Secret Technique ’Eight Extremes Spiritual Snake Steps’...”

Qin Yao elaborately listed dozens of items, causing many to gape in astonishment.

But soon, everyone grew excited - the sect benefits were tremendously generous indeed.

Indeed, the difference between outer and inner sect disciples was vast as heaven and earth.

Qin Yao continued, ”Starting the second month, the sect benefits will return to normal. Our Azure Cloud Sect has a ’Heaven and Earth Ranking’. The ranking accommodates eight hundred spots. If you fail to make the list, you will only receive a hundred high-grade Spiritual Stones and ten Condensing Pills every month, without other benefits. However, if you manage to get on the list, your benefits will greatly increase. Each move up the ranking dramatically increases the rewards you receive. Even making it into the top one hundred will include monthly Earth-grade Elixirs; the top fifty will even receive top-grade Spiritual Stones.”

”Hiss...”, Lin Feng couldn’t help but inhale sharply. The Azure Cloud Sect was very generous, offering top-grade Spiritual Stones and Earth-grade Elixirs as rewards, which suddenly made Lin Feng somewhat interested in this ’Heaven and Earth Ranking’.
