Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Twenty-four Spiritual Patterns

Becoming a qualified Spirit Array Master was no trivial matter. Lin Feng started as a Spirit Array Apprentice, devoting a great deal of time each day to listening to Sun Tiantu explain various Spirit Array knowledge. Simultaneously, as Sun Tiantu drew Spirit Arrays, Lin Feng was always present, observing and memorizing the methods.

Lin Feng studied with great dedication. He was well aware that Spirit Array Masters were one in a million, and even among those with the talent for it, not all could become Spirit Array Masters. The probability of becoming a Spirit Array Master, even with the necessary talent, was extremely low; that was why, in the entire expanse of Jialan City, there was only one Spirit Array Master like Sun Tiantu.

While learning Spirit Array knowledge, Lin Feng had not neglected his cultivation. He continued to cultivate diligently, refining the Great Strength Dragon Suppressing Pills he acquired every day, and he could clearly feel his cultivation level growing bit by bit.

Day after day, time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, three months had passed.

“Boom!”

A formidable aura emanated from Lin Feng’s room.

...

The terrifying presence even disturbed Zhang Qichu, who was resting at the time.

“Junior Brother Lin, are you alright?” Zhang Qichu asked after arriving outside Lin Feng’s room.

Lin Feng came out with a smile on his face and said, “I’m fine, I just had a breakthrough in my cultivation.”

“Ah, Junior Brother, you’ve made another breakthrough?”

Zhang Qichu exclaimed in amazement.

With a smile, Lin Feng replied, “With so many Great Strength Dragon Suppressing Pills, naturally I could make a breakthrough.”

“I need to go and cultivate as well, otherwise, I would have no face to live under the same roof as you, Junior Brother.” In the middle of the night, Zhang Qichu left his residence and ran towards the Cultivation Institute.

Lin Feng shook his head, then laughed to himself.

However, this was certainly not a bad thing. Motivation leads to greater effort in cultivation and self-improvement.

The next day, Lin Feng went to the main hall to continue learning about Spirit Arrays from Sun Tiantu.

Sun Tiantu said, “You have learned the basic knowledge here for three months, and you have also observed for three months. Today, you will try to draw a Spirit Array yourself.”

Lin Feng took a deep breath. He had been studying for three months, eagerly awaiting this moment. Even with his mature mindset, he couldn’t help feeling excited now.

“A large array is composed of individual Spiritual Patterns. To draw a Spirit Array, you need to first draw the Spiritual Patterns, and then link them together to form the Array. Today, we will start with drawing Spiritual Patterns.”

Sun Tiantu looked at Lin Feng and continued, “Drawing Spiritual Patterns requires complete mental concentration. When we work hard for the Spirit Array, we do not just draw it for the sake of drawing; we draw with heart. Only then can the Spirit Array have life. The same goes for Spiritual Patterns. You need to draw with heart to imbue life into the patterns. Close your eyes, calm down, unify your heart and mind, and slowly recall the specific methods I taught you for drawing Spiritual Patterns.”

Lin Feng closed his eyes.

His initial excitement gradually stabilized.

Spiritual Patterns, he knew, were alive.

Only by painting with heart can one endow spiritual patterns with life.

Lin Feng submerged himself in a mysterious world, where before his eyes, seemed to appear countless tiny granules.

These granules were the “Spirit Array Factors” that drifted in the Void.

To form a spiritual pattern, one needed to sift out the required “Spirit Array Factors” and merge them together, thus creating various spiritual patterns.

When the spiritual patterns were interconnected in a crisscross fashion through special methods, at that moment, a dense and interwoven Array Map would form; this was what was known as a Spirit Array.

Of course, what Lin Feng needed to do at the moment was to condense “Spiritual Patterns.”

The drawing of spiritual patterns required the use of a talisman pen, talisman paper, and Talisman Liquid, which themselves could help the Spirit Array Master condense “Spirit Array Factors.”

Lin Feng captured each tiny granule in his mind.

Gradually, he seemed to sense the emotions of these Spirit Array Factor granules, some excited, some sad, some silent; every thing had its own emotions, and Spirit Array Factor granules were no exception.

Lin Feng tuned into their emotions, using his heart to resonate with these Spirit Array Factor granules.

He didn’t know how much time had passed.

Lin Feng opened his eyes.

His eyes became clear and pure.

Lin Feng picked up the talisman pen.

In his hand, the talisman pen sketched a twisted spiritual pattern onto the talisman paper. The pattern, like a wriggling snake, seemed to have its own life as it moved about on the paper.

Sun Tiantu, standing by and watching, showed a hint of surprise; he hadn’t expected that Lin Feng, drawing a spiritual pattern for the first time, would actually manage to create one. This was completely beyond Sun Tiantu’s expectations.

To draw a spiritual pattern, one needed not only talent but also a deep understanding and sudden enlightenment of the spiritual pattern from the cultivator—this required “comprehension.”

Now, Lin Feng had succeeded in drawing a spiritual pattern on his first attempt, and in Sun Tiantu’s view, Lin Feng obviously had not only talent but also profound enlightenment concerning spiritual patterns. Sun Tiantu was very pleased. Some with astonishing talent couldn’t make it far on the path of a Spirit Array Master, a type of person Sun Tiantu had seen all too many times. The main reason was a lack of comprehension, hence they couldn’t continue down the path of a Spirit Array Master, but clearly, Lin Feng was not one of these people.

At this moment, Lin Feng did not stop; he began to draw the second spiritual pattern.

Sun Tiantu became somewhat expectant; he didn’t know how many spiritual patterns Lin Feng could actually create. According to what Sun Tiantu knew, the number one Spirit Array Master in East County Divine Land, who had reached the legendary Earth Master level, Gu Tianhe, had drawn seventeen spiritual patterns the first time he attempted to draw them.

Of course, as far as Sun Tiantu was concerned, being able to draw a single spiritual pattern on the first try was already a sign of ultimate genius. Regardless of Lin Feng’s subsequent performance, Sun Tiantu would be very satisfied. However, the ability and talent exhibited by Lin Feng had completely overturned Sun Tiantu’s perceptions and left him in a state of incredulous shock.

Spiritual pattern after spiritual pattern emerged on the paper; quickly, the count reached seventeen, which was comparable to the achievement of Gu Tianhe when he first drew spiritual patterns. Yet the key point was that Lin Feng still had not stopped; he continued drawing spiritual patterns until the twenty-fourth spiritual pattern was successfully drawn, and only then did Lin Feng take a long breath and put down the talisman pen.

“Twenty-four spiritual patterns.” Despite being well-informed and widely experienced, at that moment, Sun Tiantu’s right hand also trembled slightly, clearly shaken deeply by Lin Feng’s performance.
