Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique

Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Making a Move

Recently, Bai Yilong acquired an Immortal Flying Sword and perfected his Sword Control Technique, greatly advancing his cultivation.

During this inter-academy competition, Bai Yilong naturally wanted to push further.

He set his sights on Gongsun Changge.

Among the top twenty competitors, the top ten were too powerful, and Bai Yilong was not confident in challenging them. After weighing the pros and cons, he decided to forego challenging the top ten.

Among those ranked eleven to twenty, the twentieth-ranked student was also from the Purple Light Branch, Bai Yilong’s own academy. Naturally, Bai Yilong would not want to engage in fratricidal conflict with his fellow disciples.

Thus, Bai Yilong targeted Gongsun Changge.

...

Of course, other than for power, there was another reason. Gongsun Changge was closely related to Lin Feng, and the Bai Family’s enmity with Lin Feng was deep and abiding.

Anyone related to Lin Feng was someone Bai Yilong wished to eliminate swiftly.

…

Bai Yilong issued a challenge, and everyone’s gaze turned to Gongsun Changge.

Without much to say, Gongsun Changge leaped up and landed directly on the platform.

“Bai Yilong has acquired a flying sword and advanced his Sword Control Technique considerably. It’s uncertain who will win the match between him and Gongsun Changge.”

“Gongsun Changge’s Great Sun Long River Sword Skill has reached a state of divine transformation. It won’t be easy for Bai Yilong to defeat him, even with such a heavy treasure as the Immortal Flying Sword.”

As Gongsun Changge answered the challenge, many disciples began discussing excitedly.

Seated at the main platform, the high-ranking officials of Jialan Academy were also keenly watching. This battle was arguably the focal point of the inter-academy competition and the most anticipated showdown.

Naturally, it attracted everyone’s attention.

“Whoosh.”

Suddenly, Bai Yilong moved. His figure flickered ghostly fast across the platform.

Erratic and unpredictable, he was elusive.

“Ghost Shadow Step!”

People exclaimed, recognizing the notorious “Ghost Shadow Step” within Jialan City.

A Secret Technique inherited by one of Jialan City’s top ten families, the Bai Family, it belonged to the middle Dark Stage of movement techniques.

Once executed, movements were as elusive as a specter.

Before one could discern the opponent’s figure, they would have already been struck.

“Indeed, it is quite a bizarre step technique.”

Gongsun Changge squinted slightly, watching Bai Yilong who rapidly darted around him.

Bai Yilong moved swiftly around Gongsun Changge, his speed so fast that afterimages appeared.

“Oh my god, which one is Bai Yilong?”

“He is too fast, it’s impossible to distinguish which is his real body.”

The surroundings buzzed with discussion, many shocked by the power of Bai Yilong’s Ghost Shadow Step, exceeding all expectations.

“What do you think, Junior Brother?” Zhang Qichu asked Lin Feng with a worried expression.

Su Zimo also expressed his concern, “Bai Yilong is truly formidable; I fear Senior Brother Gongsun will have a difficult time.”

Lin Feng responded, “To stand out among hundreds of thousands of students and enter the top twenty of the Inner Academy, isn’t Gongsun easily defeated.”

No sooner had Lin Feng spoken than,

Bang!

A profoundly loud impact was heard from the platform; everyone saw Gongsun Changge strike, locking onto the true form of Bai Yilong and sending a fist thundering toward him. Bai Yilong, taken aback, threw a punch in defense and collided fiercely with Gongsun Changge.

Thunk, thunk, thunk…

As they clashed, Bai Yilong staggered backward from the impact of Gongsun Changge’s punch.

Many were shocked but also admired Gongsun Changge, a top twenty genius of the academy, for seeing through Bai Yilong’s Ghost Shadow Step and breaking it with a single punch.

Having landed a successful hit, Gongsun Changge quickly closed the distance.

With his rich combat experience, Gongsun Changge understood the principle of striking the iron while it’s hot.

He pressed on, giving Bai Yilong no chance to counterattack, thoroughly dominating him.

Bai Yilong was on the defensive, unable to retaliate, utterly embarrassed and disheveled.

“Good, well done, Senior Brother Gongsun is mighty!”

Students from Changhe Branch cheered loudly.

Lin Feng said, “Bai Yilong’s most formidable aspect is his Sword Control Technique. If Senior Brother Gongsun can persist and defeat Bai Yilong before he can wield his flying sword, this battle will be ours. But if Bai Yilong manages to use it, we’ll be in trouble.”

Xiao Yafei nodded, adding, “That flying sword can strike from a distance; indeed, it’s a troublesome weapon.”

Gongsun Changge evidently understood this too, so his attacks were relentless, aiming to crush Bai Yilong completely. Bai Yilong was in grave danger, nearly at the point of collapse.

Just as Gongsun Changge was about to claim victory, suddenly, Bai Yilong unleashed a talisman that transformed into a light orb and smashed toward Gongsun Changge.

“Not good, it’s a Magic Talisman, be careful, Senior Brother Gongsun!”

Many students from Changhe Branch cried out.

A Magic Talisman, crafted by a Spirit Array Master, possessed immense destructive power.

Once activated, the fireball produced by this Fireball Talisman could flatten a thousand-meter-high mountain in an instant, demonstrating the might of such a talisman.

“Despicable and shameless!” Many cursed Bai Yilong.

However, in this inter-academy competition, everyone relied on their abilities, and there was no rule forbidding the use of such talismans. Although using a talisman was indeed lowly, it was within the rules.

Gongsun Changge’s expression changed slightly, but his reaction was extremely quick.

He swiftly sidestepped to the left.

The fiery orb nearly grazed Gongsun Changge’s body as it flew past, then violently exploded midair.

Waves of heat swept out.

The ground shook violently as the energy from the explosion of the fireball expanded.

However, Gongsun Changge dodged in time, and the explosion of the fireball did not harm him.

Swoosh.

In the void, a cold light flashed, and an Immortal Flying Sword swiftly flew out, striking toward Gongsun Changge. The speed of the flying sword was so fast that it was almost impossible to react in time. Many people’s faces changed drastically. An Immortal Flying Sword could kill from a distance, and once it was deployed, blood was sure to be shed.

Many people started to worry about Gongsun Changge.

“Great Sun River”!

Just then, Gongsun Changge roared and drew his treasure sword to strike.

Rumble.

In the void, a long river appeared, sweeping heaven and earth.

At the end of the river, a great sun slowly descended as if the sun were setting.

The flying sword slashing toward him from the void was directly suppressed by the great sun and immobilized mid-air.

“What a move, the Great Sun Long River Sword Skill! Senior Brother Gongsun’s swordsmanship is truly unmatched, breaking Bai Yilong’s Sword Control Technique,” Zhang Qichu said excitedly.

The students of Changhe Branch erupted in cheers.

Lin Feng nodded. Gongsun Changge was indeed formidable, having only to capture Bai Yilong’s flying sword, and Bai Yilong would undoubtedly be defeated.

Gongsun Changge stepped forward and reached for the flying sword suppressed by the great sun.

At this moment, a sinister grin appeared on Bai Yilong’s face.

Swoosh.

A second cold light shot into the sky, striking toward Gongsun Changge.

“What? Another flying sword?” Many people exclaimed.

Everyone knew the Immortal Flying Sword was incredibly valuable.

Many high-ranking members of Jialan Academy didn’t possess one.

Yet, Bai Yilong had two flying swords, which was unimaginable.

On the main platform, Deputy General Director Bai Changfeng showed a trace of a smile. He was also from the Bai Family and held a significant position as an elder at Jialan Academy. This second flying sword had been given to Bai Yilong by Bai Changfeng just before the competition.

“Hmph!” Sun Tiantu and Gongyang Ming, the director and deputy director of Changhe Branch, both snorted coldly, their faces visibly unhappy. They recognized the origin of the second flying sword but refrained from starting a conflict with Bai Changfeng due to colleague relations.

“Bad news, Senior Brother Gongsun is in danger,” Lin Feng said as his expression shifted slightly.

The second flying sword slashed rapidly toward Gongsun Changge, who tried to dodge by retreating, but he was already a step too late.

Stab.

The second flying sword left a huge gash in Gongsun Changge’s left rib, from which blood spurted out. He was flung backward by the sword, badly wounded, and his body uncontrollably plummeted toward the ground.

“Damn, this Bai Yilong is too despicable; he must have borrowed the second flying sword from his family just before the competition. Senior Brother Gongsun’s defeat is too wrongful.” The students of Changhe Branch were filled with righteous indignation.

Everyone thought the battle was over, as Gongsun Changge had been wounded by the sword and had no strength left to fight, but unexpectedly, Bai Yilong showed no intention of stopping. He continued to control the flying sword, slashing again toward Gongsun Changge.

Mid-air, Gongsun Changge became a sitting duck.

Bai Yilong had no intention of letting Gongsun Changge off easily.

Now that he had defeated Gongsun Changge, Bai Yilong planned to ensure this rival had no chance of a comeback.

Although he couldn’t kill Gongsun Changge,

how would it be if he slashed a few more times on Gongsun Changge’s body?

After all, in arena battles, the sword has no eyes.

Bai Yilong hoped to use sword qi to damage Gongsun Changge’s meridians enough to hinder his future cultivation, ensuring that he wouldn’t even have the chance to challenge him again.

It must be said, this Bai Yilong was quite cruel and ruthless. It was just a sparring match on the platform, yet to prevent future challenges from Gongsun Changge, he actually wanted to cripple him.

“What is Bai Yilong trying to do?”

“Damn it, that despicable Bai Yilong is going too far. Senior Brother Gongsun is already injured, and he is still attacking him with a flying sword.”

The students of Changhe Branch roared with anger.

A sinister grin spread across Bai Yilong’s face.

He controlled the flying sword, slashing toward Gongsun Changge. Just as the sword was about to strike Gongsun Changge,

suddenly, a shadow flashed like lightning onto the platform.

“It’s Junior Brother Lin Feng,” Zhang Qichu and the others exclaimed.

Lin Feng intercepted the path between the flying sword and Gongsun Changge, throwing his right fist and hurling it toward the flying sword launched by Bai Yilong.

Fist versus flying sword!

Everyone’s eyes widened, looking as if they had seen a ghost.

“Old Sun, this kid is Lin Feng,” Gongyang Ming said to Sun Tiantu.

“Oh? So he is Lin Feng? He’s quite interesting,” Sun Tiantu said, showing interest as he watched Lin Feng.

The power of the Dragon Elephant swirled around Lin Feng’s fist.

Clang.

He punched the flying sword.

The flying sword launched by Bai Yilong was directly sent flying by Lin Feng’s punch.

“Goodness, this Lin Feng is so formidable…”

Many people exclaimed.

Lin Feng helped Gongsun Changge stand, asking with concern, “Senior brother, are you alright?”

“Don’t worry, I won’t die,” Gongsun Changge said with a pale face.

“Senior brother, go down and heal. Leave the rest to me. I’ll make this guy pay for his despicable actions,” Lin Feng said as he looked at Bai Yilong, his eyes flickering with a cold light.
