The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 809: Chapter 748: Thoroughness_3

She wanted to stay and keep watch together, but feared Xia Wenjin might think she doubted her, so she didn’t bring it up.

Xia Wenjin didn’t say much either. After dinner and washing up, she ushered the four apprentices out of the room and closed the door.

Prior, she forced out that thing and first applied medicine to Ning Yujun’s arm. There were no bloodstains at the fracture, but after that white mass emerged, blood began to oozing from the severed arm. Fortunately, Xia Wenjin quickly sealed the acupoints with silver needles.

But the matter wasn’t over yet.

She unwrapped the bandage, looked at the ferocious wound on Ning Yujun’s arm, and then took out a silver needle, piercing seventeen of them crisscross across her body.

As these silver needles pierced in, Ning Yujun’s brows furrowed involuntarily.

Even though she was asleep from the pain, she could still feel it in her sleep!

Xia Wenjin’s gaze was fixed tightly on the silver needles. The tips of each needle seemed different; some even trembled slightly.

After noting these changes, Xia Wenjin’s fingers moved. She pulled out the motionless silver needles one by one and repositioned them in different spots.

This alternation of silver needles took another half hour, making Xia Wenjin’s forehead glisten with sweat.

It seemed a simple process of pulling out and inserting silver needles, but it was intricate, with not a hair’s breadth of deviation allowed. Moreover, the timing had to be perfect, or else Ning Yujun might actually lose her life to one needle.

After completing the needlework, Xia Wenjin let out a sigh of relief, pulled out the silver needles, and then pressed her finger on Ning Yujun’s shoulder. The freshly bandaged wound began to gush blood again.

Xia Wenjin was prepared, catching the spurting blood with a cloth that reeked and stank.

Xia Wenjin sighed, it seemed she would have to needle again later.

She took out a silk cloth to wipe Ning Yujun’s forehead and sat quietly by the bedside.

Ning Yujun still hadn’t woken up.

It wasn’t that the comatose person couldn’t wake from pain, but Xia Wenjin, afraid she couldn’t bear it during the needling, conveniently tapped her acupoints, letting her endure unconsciously.

At least she wouldn’t have to watch Ning Yujun suffer like this with her eyes open.

In the middle of the night, she performed the needling again, then dragged her exhausted body to the couch to rest.

Perhaps it was due to the awkwardness after Zhang Ge’s impulsiveness, early in the morning, Mu Ziyu personally delivered warm water for Xia Wenjin and Ning Yujun to wash up.

Xia Wenjin accepted it without any pretense.

Being too tired, sometimes politeness was really meaningless.

Breakfast was still quite lavish, and while having breakfast, Mu Ziyu tentatively asked, ”Miss Xia, does my master need some breakfast?”

Xia Wenjin smiled and said, ”No need, today Ning Senior Sister won’t be able to eat anything. Tomorrow morning, you can prepare some congee.”

Does this mean Master won’t wake up today?

Hearing this, Mu Ziyu, though worried, didn’t ask further.

After Mu Ziyu left, Xia Wenjin returned to the room, sat by the bed, and saw that Ning Yujun’s arm wound had been re-bandaged. She gently stroked the bandaged area, her voice soft and gentle, ”Senior Sister Ning!”

With her gentle call, Ning Yujun, who was in a daze on the bed, actually stirred. Her eyelashes fluttered, then she opened her eyes, which seemed a bit confused at first, but quickly focused upon seeing Xia Wenjin.

She asked, ”Little girl, have you taken it out?”

The first concern was surprisingly about the Life-sharing Butterfly.

Xia Wenjin nodded, ”I’ve taken it out!”

Ning Yujun struggled to lift her head, looking at Xia Wenjin with eyes full of anticipation and a bit of apprehension, ”Then, can I see it?”

Xia Wenjin nodded again, taking a small vial and placing it in front of Ning Yujun, ”It’s purple!”

Ning Yujun was puzzled, what does purple signify?

Knowing it was futile to ponder, she looked again at the young girl in front of her.

Xia Wenjin understood her meaning, unwilling to let her gaze at her so nervously, and slowly explained, ”If a Life-sharing Butterfly stays in the body for over twenty years, it can foretell life and death. The extracted butterfly comes in three colors: green, purple, black. Green signifies prosperity, black signifies withering, and purple signifies sickness!”

There should actually be four colors: green, purple, black, gold, with gold symbolizing illness.

Green for life, purple for death, black for withering, gold for illness.

But how could she say that now?

Hearing it signifies sickness, Ning Yujun paused for a moment, then gave a bleak smile, ”Sickness? At least I’m still alive! That’s good!”
