The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 803: Chapter 746: How Much Time Is Left_3

No one among Li Haofan and his group dared to speak now.

Ning Yujun extended her hand gesturing an invitation, and Xia Wenjin quickly stepped aside.

Ning Yujun didn’t mind; considering their age difference, it was natural for the young girl to remain respectful and not treat her as an equal. Nonetheless, Xia Wenjin’s thoughtful etiquette left her feeling quite comforted.

Upon entering the room, it was inconvenient for Li Haofan’s group to follow, but Mu Ziyu, unwilling to leave her master unattended, stepped inside.

Once seated, Ning Yujun smiled at Xia Wenjin, saying, ”Young lady, I leave it in your capable hands then!”

Xia Wenjin did not sit down. She clasped her hands in a gesture of respect and said, ”I have observed visually, but I still need to check the pulse to make a confirmation!”

Ning Yujun stretched out her hand and placed it flat on the table, evidently well-acquainted with the procedure.

Xia Wenjin positioned herself beside her, placing two fingers on Ning Yujun’s wrist. Soon, she withdrew her hand.

Mu Ziyu, on edge, asked, ”Is my master’s illness serious?”

Xia Wenjin glanced at her, ”Senior Sister Ning is not ill!” ℯℯ𝑙.

Mu Ziyu was taken aback. What did she mean by not ill? Could it be that Miss Xia was too inexperienced to diagnose correctly?

Yet, Ning Yujun was not surprised at all, merely smiling slightly as she said, ”I also feel like I am not ill!”

”Master, but when the pain strikes, it is unbearably intense!”

Xia Wenjin interjected, ”That’s because it’s not due to an illness; Senior Sister Ning has been poisoned!”

”Poisoned?” Mu Ziyu was even more startled. ”How could my master be poisoned? Besides, if it was poison, how come there are no symptoms? So many doctors have examined her, and not one has said my master was poisoned!”

Seeing the diagnosis was complete, Li Haofan and the others who had been waiting outside hurriedly rushed into the room, with Zhang Ge quickly asking about their master’s condition.

Mu Ziyu spoke with a bitter smile, ”Miss Xia says our master has been poisoned!”

Xia Wenjin observed the shifting expressions among the senior disciples—mostly filled with skepticism—and yet Ning Yujun’s face remained calm, unshaken by the revelation.

Softly, Xia Wenjin remarked, ”Senior Sister Ning, your back pain has been getting worse for the past three years and increasingly unbearable, hasn’t it?”

After hearing this, Ning Yujun didn’t respond immediately but looked at her intently, hesitated, and then said, ”It does seem that way!”

Xia Wenjin nodded, adding, ”This poison has a poetic name: Life-sharing Golden Butterfly Dance!”

”What kind of nonsense is that?” Lu Hongyin asked immediately.

Ning Yujun furrowed her brow slightly, seemingly stunned.

Xia Wenjin continued slowly, ”It’s not nonsense; it’s a type of poison—or rather, a kind of curse. Initially ingested, it’s colorless and tasteless; it lies dormant. However, after ten years in the body, it becomes active, like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon.”

Upon hearing Xia Wenjin’s words, Li Haofan and the others’ expressions changed drastically, implying that the master had been poisoned for at least ten years.

Xia Wenjin looked at Ning Yujun, ”Senior Sister Ning’s back pain feels as if being slashed by a thousand blades, seemingly on the verge of breaking, yet there are no visible wounds. Doctors fail to diagnose the illness, and even the pulse shows no abnormalities, is that correct?”

Mu Ziyu and her fellow disciples exchanged bewildered glances; if anyone knew, they knew, that the master’s pain was genuinely excruciating. However, every doctor they consulted stated she wasn’t ill, nor mentioned poisoning.

Especially when not suffering from an episode, the master appeared in excellent health.

This was the reason for their relentless puzzlement.

Mu Ziyu quickly asked, ”Is it really due to that bug?”

Xia Wenjin nodded then shook her head, saying, ”Senior Sister Ning, this poison, given the name Life-sharing Golden Butterfly Dance, isn’t singular but shared between two individuals. Even if it becomes active, there won’t be a problem as they accompany the host until death. However, the shared fate of two butterflies means if one is harmed, the other suffers equally. That’s why until recently, Senior Sister Ning’s health remained unaffected, only displaying abnormalities in the past few years!”

Ning Yujun’s face grew pale; she stared fixedly at Xia Wenjin, a bead of sweat forming on her forehead.

With acute attention, Mu Ziyu noticed her master’s anomaly and quickly came over to support her, asking with concern, ”Master, is your ailment acting up again?”

Ning Yujun shook her head, continuing to stare at Xia Wenjin. Her voice was dry and feeble, each word catching in her throat, seemingly struggling to come out: ”How... much... longer... do I have?”

Xia Wenjin saw the look in her eyes—filled with desolation, worry, wisdom, and even despair...

Instantly understanding, Xia Wenjin realized Ning Yujun wasn’t asking how much time she had left, but rather how much longer the other host of the Life-sharing Golden Butterfly had!
