The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 488: Chapter 488: Ninth Young Master Is Missing

Two servants came over, and the Crown Prince said, ”Hold down the Second Young Master, don’t let him move around!”

The two servants came to restrain him, but Huangfu Chi waved them away with a palm.

Actually, Huangfu Chi was in pain all over at this time, and this wave of his hand had no strength, but how could the servants dare to confront the Second Young Master?

The Crown Prince’s face darkened: ”Get two more people!”

Immediately, two more strong-bodied servants came, and four together pinned Huangfu Chi down firmly.

Huangfu Chi’s face turned red, struggling but unable to break free. Moreover, even though these servants were holding him down, they couldn’t avoid touching his wounds. Even if they didn’t, his struggling inevitably affected other wounds, causing him to howl in pain.

With swift and clean movements, Meng Zhang set the rib on his side back in place.

He applied pressure to another area, and Huangfu Chi screamed again.

As Meng Zhang worked on the injuries, realigning the bones, Huangfu Chi struggled powerlessly, yet his cursing was unaffected. Meng Zhang’s face turned blue with anger, and he continued in silence.

After working on four or five places, Huangfu Chi’s voice grew hoarse from shouting.

Seeing his son in such a state, the Crown Prince, though usually hardened, felt a twinge of pity for him.

Just as Meng Zhang was about to press another area, Huangfu Chi shouted, ”Old coot, it doesn’t hurt here, you are not allowed to touch it.”

Meng Zhang glanced at the Crown Prince with difficulty.

The Crown Prince said, ”Since it doesn’t hurt, it seems the bone there is fine!”

Meng Zhang nodded and prepared to press another area when Huangfu Chi shouted again, ”Old coot, it doesn’t hurt here!”

Meng Zhang looked again at the Crown Prince.

The Crown Prince replied displeased, ”Doctor Meng, if it doesn’t hurt there, then don’t press it!”

He was calling Meng the Dean before, and now he calls him Doctor, such a change in attitude. His son’s cries of pain had made his heart ache, feeling that as the healer, Meng Zhang hadn’t alleviated his son’s pain quickly, which was Meng Zhang’s fault! As for how serious his son’s injuries originally were, and how they could not have been painless, he did not consider it.

He didn’t even stop Huangfu Chi from using such harsh language.

Meng Zhang said, ”Second Young Master, are there no particularly painful areas left?”

At this moment, Huangfu Chi’s whole body hurt—what did it mean to have no particularly painful areas? Meng Zhang’s voice was calm, as if it was none of his business, which made him both angry and in pain, he shouted, ”I said there are no particularly painful areas, are you planning to press it all again? Are you worried I don’t hurt enough?”

Meng Zhang turned to the Crown Prince, ”Since the Second Young Master has no particularly painful areas, it seems the bones are aligned. However, I am still a bit concerned; if we do not re-examine carefully, something might be overlooked, which could have consequences.”

Huangfu Chi shouted, ”Old coot! I said I’m fine, then leave me alone!”

The Crown Prince also said, ”Since everything has been checked, then prepare the medicine.” This attitude was much colder than before.

Meng Zhang went to the side to prepare the medicine.

As soon as he wrote the prescription, the Crown Prince took it and handed it to a servant next to him, ”Go fetch the medicine.”

Meng Zhang said, ”Your Highness, if there is nothing else, I will take my leave now!”

The Crown Prince waved his hand, saying, ”Dean Meng, take care!”

Just as Meng Zhang reached the door, suddenly someone rushed in from outside, knocking him to the ground.

Meng Zhang, already near his fifties, took quite a hit from that collision.

Though the Crown Prince’s attitude was indifferent, this was his mansion. Such unruly behavior by his servants was a loss of face for him, and his expression darkened as he was about to rebuke him.

But the person didn’t bother to help Meng Zhang up, with a pale face, he said to the Crown Prince, ”Your Highness, something terrible has happened...”

The Crown Prince: ”...”

Never before had his complexion changed so frequently as today; to say it was livid was no exaggeration.

How many times had he heard this phrase since then? It was his least favorite phrase, yet he heard it the most today.

Hidden properties destroyed, illegally mined minerals discovered by the Government, a son severely injured...

Were these not bad enough?

There were still more bad things?

He even wished to have this clueless servant dragged out and beheaded.

No! Not only that, he ought to set a rule. From now on, anyone in the Crown Prince Mansion who dares utter those three words would be beheaded.

He was about to call someone over to punish this ignorant servant, but upon turning, felt a bit heavy-hearted. This was the steward from the Meilan Pavilion.

Meilan Pavilion was a courtyard within the Crown Prince Mansion.

That courtyard was where his ninth son, Huangfu Wei, resided.

His legitimate son from his concubine, the child he valued the most. Though Huangfu Jing and Huangfu Chi held some weight in his heart, they couldn’t compare to this legitimate son.

Now it was actually the steward from that side coming over, could it be that something happened to Huangfu Wei?

He rushed forward, grabbing the steward by the collar, and shouted, ”What happened?”

His eyes were bloodshot, as if ready to devour someone. If what this servant said was not significant, he would meet a tragic end.

Frightened by his gaze, the steward stammered and could barely speak, ”Your Highness, the Ninth Young Master... the Ninth Young Master... the Ninth Young Master is missing!”

The person was perfectly fine in the Meilan Pavilion, how could he suddenly disappear?

The Crown Prince Mansion was heavily guarded, and this was broad daylight.

The Crown Prince, with bloodshot eyes, said, ”How did he disappear, what on earth happened? What about the guards? What about the courtyard staff? Are they all dead?”

Meng Zhang, seeing the situation, struggled to stand up, knowing his fall was for nothing.

However, for the Crown Prince’s legitimate son to go missing, this was indeed a significant matter!

So the fact that he got knocked over was trivial enough to disregard. Meng Zhang knew it was inappropriate to stay any longer, he’d already bid farewell to the Crown Prince earlier. Moreover, the Crown Prince’s attitude was indifferent, so he quietly left.

The steward from Meilan Pavilion described the situation intermittently.

Huangfu Wei was now only ten years old, and being restricted within the mansion didn’t bother him much, as he obediently focused on his studies within the residence. Just a while ago, he finished his dinner and, as usual, took a stroll in the courtyard with a scholar accompanying him.

But suddenly, he said he felt cold, so the scholar quickly went inside to fetch him a coat.

However, when the scholar came out with the coat, Huangfu Wei was already gone, leaving only a few drops of blood where he had stood.

They were terrified, searched the entire Meilan Pavilion, but couldn’t find Huangfu Wei, realizing something was seriously wrong.

They searched the entire mansion again in hope, but still didn’t find him, thus hurried to report to the Crown Prince.

Bloodstains? Without the bloodstains, he could have deluded himself that Huangfu Wei was merely playing hide and seek avoiding the servants. But now, even self-deception was impossible.

The Crown Prince was shocked and furious, but mainly heartbroken.
