The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Ding Mansion

Xia Wenjin loosened the reins in her hand; this horse was raised by Haotian Village and wouldn’t run off.

She stepped into the courtyard.

The faces of the two guardians changed instantly, and they swiftly drew their swords.

Seeing how they drew their swords at the slightest disagreement, Xia Wenjin’s expression became colder. She said in a deep voice, ”Tell the steward of this house to come out!”

The two guardians warned, ”Don’t take another step forward. If you do, don’t blame us for being rude. Even though you’re just a young girl, we won’t hesitate to cut you down!”

Xia Wenjin swept her gaze coldly across them.

Even though they had drawn their swords, there was no killing intent, and their eyes were wary. They hadn’t charged straight away. She took a deep breath, stood her ground, and said, ”I won’t go forward. I just wish to see the steward. I’m not here to cause trouble; I simply have some things to clarify!” But if the master of this house had indeed forcibly seized Jing Xian’s residence, then they shouldn’t blame her for being unkind.

The two guardians exchanged a glance, and sure enough, one of them ran inside.

The other remained with his sword pointed at Xia Wenjin.

However, seeing that Xia Wenjin indeed stood still, and noticing that she seemed so young and unarmed, he felt a bit embarrassed to keep his sword raised like that.

He asked, ”Who are you, young lady?”

Xia Wenjin said, ”Once I meet the steward, I will reveal my identity!”

The guardian didn’t ask further, merely keeping a close watch on her.

Soon, a man dressed like a steward hastily came out with the previous guardian.

He immediately noticed the kicked-in door, frowned slightly, and his gaze at Xia Wenjin became stern: ”Who are you to dare cause trouble at the Ding Mansion?”

The man appeared to be thirty-seven or eight years old, with a few fierce glints in his hooked eyes, clearly a trained person.

”Are you the steward?”

The steward said coldly, ”I am! You’d better explain why you kicked down our door. Our Ding Mansion won’t stand being bullied like this!”

Xia Wenjin asked, ”Ding Mansion? What about the mother and daughter who used to live here? Did you buy this place, or did you seize it?”

”What mother and daughter?” The steward’s expression grew colder. ”This house has always been ours. What buying or seizing are you talking about?”

Xia Wenjin felt anger rising in her heart; when she bought this house, she had checked thoroughly. The previous owner’s surname was Zhang, not Ding.

Could it be that they had indeed seized it by force?

”I need to see the head of the house!”

The steward sneered, ”Young lady, I don’t care who you are. You came here, kicked down our door at the slightest disagreement, and now you say you want to see the head of the house? Our young miss is not someone you can just meet as you wish! She’s not here today! If you’re wise, pay some Silver and apologize, and we will let you go. If you keep being rude, I won’t be polite anymore!”

”Very well, I would like to see just how impolite you can be!”

Thinking of the frail mother and daughter, to whom she had given this house and shop to ensure they wouldn’t want for food and clothing, she found the property had changed hands in just over a year. The shop likely hadn’t fared well either.

The two guardians, hearing the steward’s words about being impolite, once again pointed their swords at Xia Wenjin.

Xia Wenjin took a step forward.

The steward coldly reminded, ”Young lady, I advise you not to overestimate yourself. Blades are blind, and if you trespass, any injury you suffer will be for nothing.”

Xia Wenjin took another step forward.

The steward saw she was intent on causing trouble, and said, ”Take her down and send her to the Government!”

The two guardians immediately raised their swords to attack.

Xia Wenjin shifted her body aside to evade a sword, and a dagger slid from her sleeve to block another blade.

The two guardians, though holding back and not using lethal force, struck quickly. Seeing Xia Wenjin casually deflect their attacks, they exchanged a glance, and this time, the sword light turned into a floral pattern, attacking Xia Wenjin with no restraint left.

Xia Wenjin initiated the Shadow Circulation Step, weaving left and right like a butterfly. As her skirt fluttered, the two guardians hadn’t figured out what was happening before one of them was heavily struck at the back of the head with the handle of a dagger, falling to the ground unconscious.

The other felt a jolt in his wrist, dropping the sword, followed by a cold sensation on his neck and a dagger pressing against his throat.

This frightened him into a cold sweat, especially as just now, he thought he might have lost his head.

Xia Wenjin moved as fast as lightning, shifting behind him. With the same technique, she struck his neck with an elbow, and he too fell to the ground unconscious.

The steward squinted his eyes, probably not expecting someone who looked so young to be so skillful. Still, he showed no fear, and called out loudly, ”Men!”

At his call, four more men appeared from the side.

These four were dressed as house servants, but they looked far superior to the previous two guardians. Their steps were agile, their breaths steady, silent upon landing, with sharp gazes.

Xia Wenjin’s eyes turned even colder.

She initially thought this Ding Family was just a local power, bullying others. Now it seemed it wasn’t so simple. These four servants had skills that could be considered third-rate in the Jianghu.

Third-rate skills for servants? Unranked guardians?

This was indeed interesting.

No wonder Jing Xian couldn’t hold onto the house.

But since she was here, those who seized by force must pay the price!

The steward coldly commanded, ”Capture her and send her to the Government!”

He repeated the same words.

However, these four servants were clearly not comparable to the previous guardians.

They divided into four directions, encircling Xia Wenjin in the middle. One said, ”It’s best if you surrender, to avoid injury!”

Xia Wenjin said indifferently, ”Let’s see if you have the capability!”

Although she spoke with calmness and even a touch of arrogance, she felt angered inside. With such skills, what couldn’t they do? Yet they chose to bully the weak?

The four servants exchanged glances, clearly provoked by Xia Wenjin’s arrogance, immediately launching their attack.

These four were quite skilled individually, and working together, they even formed a sort of array, greatly amplifying their power.

At their first strike, if it weren’t for Xia Wenjin’s exquisite Shadow Circulation Step, she might not have dodged in time.

The four felt a chill in their hearts; this array, with its sudden, unexpected strikes, could catch even first-rate masters in the Jianghu off guard, yet this young girl had evaded it?

No wonder she dared to cause trouble; she had some skills.

Xia Wenjin felt a chill in her heart too, having been a bit too complacent. The combined force of these four was much greater than their individual powers.

Xia Wenjin employed the Shadow Circulation Step, maneuvering within the tightly woven attacks of the four.

The four of them were clearly well-practiced in their array, presumably having coordinated many times. Xia Wenjin felt trapped, even struggling to breathe.

These four showed no sign of underestimating her, maintaining a calm demeanor, acting with great synergy.

Seeing Xia Wenjin constrained by the array, their attacks became more relentless, aiming to overwhelm her with powerful force, discouraging her from confronting them directly. While if she continued dodging, she would soon be exhausted under the dual pressure.
