The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 408: Chapter 408: Who Is the Boss

Xia Wenjin put down her chopsticks; even the restaurant’s signature dishes no longer had any flavor.

It seems she still needs to return to Haotian Village, even if it means confronting Huangfu Yuxuan head-on.

She’s never wanted to return to the mountain or see this person, fearing that the overwhelming hatred in her heart couldn’t be contained, and if she killed him, it would bring disaster to Haotian Village.

But he still set his sights on Haotian Village.

This also proves one thing: his original purpose for coming to Haotian Village was likely its influence in the Jianghu.

Xia Wenjin was about to pay the bill and leave when the shopkeeper came over with someone.

The person was about thirty years old, wearing a sky-blue long robe, with clear and bright eyes. The shopkeeper was respectful yet somewhat puzzled by his side.

This man walked up to Xia Wenjin, clasped his fists, and bowed, saying, ”Miss Xia, what brings you here today? Please forgive our prior unawareness and any lack of courtesy!”

Xia Wenjin smiled faintly, saying, ”I was hungry, so I came to eat. I didn’t mean to disturb you! No need for such formality, you have your own matters to attend to, and managing this restaurant well is more important than welcoming me!”

The shopkeeper looked at Xia Wenjin with an expression of bewilderment, welcoming? Even if the owner speaks politely, that wouldn’t warrant the word ’welcoming,’ right? And what’s with this high-tier tone? To think this restaurant might be hers!

Where does this girl get such confidence? Could she be a young lady from some prominent family?

But how could a young lady from those prominent families possibly come to the restaurant to eat alone without even a maid in tow?

This man was Yan Huanlin, the owner of this restaurant. He said, ”Since you’re here, I’ll show you around! Under your guidance, the restaurant is now flourishing!”

”While the suggestions are good, execution is key. You’ve done well, but I have matters to attend to. I’ll visit again next time!”

Hearing that she had matters to attend to, Yan Huanlin felt a bit regretful and said, ”Then take care, Miss Xia. Do you need any travel expenses? You can withdraw directly from the restaurant!”

The shopkeeper widened his eyes. Did he hear this right? The owner uttered such words. Who is this young girl? Could she be a relative of the owner? No, the owner’s attitude towards her is too respectful, unlike how one would treat one’s younger family members!

Xia Wenjin shook her head, ”I don’t need any for now. Just do your part; no need to worry about other matters. I’m off now!”

”Take care, Miss Xia!”

Once Xia Wenjin went downstairs, the shopkeeper couldn’t hold back anymore: ”Owner, who is this young lady? I’ve never seen her before!”

As he watched Xia Wenjin’s figure descend the stairs and head towards the door, Yan Huanlin turned to the shopkeeper and said, ”This young lady is the owner of Yan Zui Xuan!”

”What?”

The shopkeeper’s eyes widened: ”Aren’t you the... owner here? Everyone knows that Yan Family owns Yan Zui Xuan, a decades-old establishment.”

Yan Huanlin chuckled, ”Yes, I am your boss, and Miss Xia is my boss. There’s nothing wrong with that!”

He was very reassured, knowing he had personally selected everyone in the restaurant, so there was no risk of offending a guest. It’s a pity Miss Xia had urgent business to attend to, or he would have liked her to stay a few more days to hear about the recent changes at Yan Zui Xuan.

Towards Xia Wenjin, though she was just a young girl, he did not underestimate her in the least.

He couldn’t forget the calamity the Yan Family faced three months ago. If it weren’t for this young girl, the Yan Family would have vanished, along with Yan Zui Xuan, from this world.

Three months ago, Yan Zui Xuan was actually sold to resolve the Yan Family’s crisis.

Miss Xia not only saved the entire Yan Family but also bought back Yan Zui Xuan, allowing the Yan Family to continue managing it and even giving them a thirty percent share. Now, Yan Zui Xuan is still the Yan Family’s, but at the same time, it isn’t. The Yan Family remains the Yan Family, but it’s no longer what it used to be. In essence, the entire Yan Family belongs to Xia Wenjin.

The Yan Family was very grateful to Xia Wenjin, though the reason they almost collapsed was because others initially targeted Yan Zui Xuan. At that time, Yan Zui Xuan was hanging by a thread. Later, when those people threatened with imprisonment and such, they truly sought to ruin the Yan Family indefinitely!

Thus, after Xia Wenjin bought back Yan Zui Xuan, it wasn’t the thriving restaurant it once was, but rather a somber and listless place.

Xia Wenjin had it renovated and let Yan Huanlin run it using her business methods, bringing Yan Zui Xuan back to life and prosperity!

Currently, the most important aspect of Yan Zui Xuan is not the restaurant business but gathering various information!

Due to information heard at Yan Zui Xuan, Xia Wenjin, who originally planned to stay in Yunzhou for a few more days, hastily ended her trip to rush to Haotian Village.

Xia Wenjin was filled with urgency, traveling continuously day and night, finally reaching Haotian Village after four days.

The mountain-guarding brothers, seeing her from afar, beamed with joy: ”The young lady has returned to the mountain!”

”The young lady has returned, quick, quick, go report!”

Xia Wenjin dismounted and handed the horse to the mountain-guarding brothers, then set off on foot.

She walked quickly, practically halfway up the mountain in no time.

She picked up her pace, seemingly flying under her feet.

Even knowing that rushing back to the village like this might lead to a confrontation with Huangfu Yuxuan, she could not help but maintain her urgency. For if confronting him, she failed to suppress her rage and killed him, it would be troublesome for Haotian Village. Nevertheless, she couldn’t allow her father and the uncles of the village to be exploited by Huangfu Yuxuan again.

Two of the mountain guards exchanged glances: ”The young lady’s skills seem to have improved a lot after a year away from the mountain!”

”Yeah, previously, she wouldn’t have handed the horse to us. She used to ride up the mountain directly.”

”This horse is exhausted, unable to climb the mountain anymore, look at the white froth it’s foaming from its mouth!”

”Why is the young lady in such a rush that even the horse is this tired? She must be exhausted too! She never used to exhaust herself like this!”

”Could it be that the young lady knows Young Master Yu is leaving, so she’s hurrying back?”

”Haha, that’s possible. Young Master Yu is so handsome; the young lady must have reconsidered!”

”Looks like there will soon be a joyous event in our village!”

”Good things take time, and there should have been a celebration a year ago. If the young lady hadn’t fled the marriage, who knows, a little young master might have been born by now!”

...

Of course, Xia Wenjin was unaware of the conversations between the mountain guards as she quickly reached the top of the mountain.

The village of Haotian was built at the mountain’s peak, its buildings nestled among trees, creating a peaceful yet majestic scene.

In the Martial Arts Square, a few brothers were still practicing, and stone locks flew with a whoosh.

As soon as Xia Wenjin appeared, a green figure immediately rushed towards her like a little swallow.
