Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2197: Chapter 2206: That Strange Car Following Them

Skye Lawrence felt somewhat conflicted; she didn’t like Enna Clark before, doesn’t like her now, and probably never will.

However, upon hearing about Enna Clark’s accident, she still felt a bit of a complex feeling.

This time, although it had nothing to do with her, for some reason, she had an illusion of being an accomplice.

”I’ll say it again, I don’t know what happened to her, but this time it has nothing to do with me, I didn’t hire anyone to do it! If I’m lying, let lightning strike me down!”

Baron Lawrence fell silent.

He had thought it was Skye Lawrence again, but this time it really seemed to have nothing to do with her.

Perhaps he wouldn’t trust her on other matters, but Baron still understood Skye’s character well.

Skye Lawrence was candid and bold.

If she had truly done it, she would have called; she wouldn’t deny it.

His thin lips pressed into a straight line, tasting the scent of blood in his mouth. He neither believed nor disbelieved her, he simply hung up the phone.

Scott Harris had been with him since earlier.

Seeing him call Ms. Skye and hearing their argument, though unable to hear what Ms. Skye said, privately hoped this time it had nothing to do with her.

Otherwise, with Lord’s level of anger this time, Ms. Skye might really get into big trouble.

If Ms. Skye truly got sick from Lord’s troubles, explaining it to the Second Young Master might be difficult.

”Lord...”

After Baron Lawrence hung up the phone, he stood still for a long time, light casting a shadow over his handsome features, half-lit and half-dark, making it hard to guess what he was thinking. Scott Harris couldn’t hold back and softly called out to him.

”Why don’t we head back to the Young Madam’s ward first?”

Upon hearing ”Young Madam,” Baron Lawrence seemed to snap back to reality.

He turned his head and glanced at him, in that glance, a calmness that seemed like lava roiling beneath.

Ready to erupt at any moment.

”Investigate! Check the hotel inside and out thoroughly!”

He couldn’t believe it, unable to find out who did it!

Without needing information from Skye Lawrence, he could also find out who collaborated with her!

”Yes, Lord.”

Adam Sinclair came out at this time, walked up to him, and silently patted his shoulder before saying, ”After you took Enna away, Olivia told me that in the afternoon, a strange car was following them. She roughly recalled the location for me, and I’ve had people investigate that car. It had been abandoned on a secluded path by the seaside, with no useful information left in it, not even a fingerprint. The police also sent a message saying the car was reported stolen in their records, and the owner reported it a month ago. The car was never found.”

”And then?”

”Olivia said they already felt something was off about the car. But when they started suspecting the car, the people inside suddenly got out. It was a foreign man wearing sunglasses. Additionally, a foreign woman holding a drink got into the car. Before getting in, the two kissed each other’s faces. So they thought the two were a couple and didn’t think much of it. Who would have thought, that evening Enna met an accident. It wasn’t until she remembered the afternoon incident that she still felt the car was strange.”

Baron Lawrence tightened his lips.

He hadn’t realized someone had been stalking Enna Clark all along.

He thought he had protected her well enough, but it was not enough!
