Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1101: Chapter 1101: Lost All My Wealth In It Chapter 1101: Chapter 1101: Lost All My Wealth In It “A mortgage company, how could there be a mortgage company? Are you sure you’ve got the right person?” Juliet Jordan furrowed her brows.

What they call a ‘mortgage company’ is actually just a front for loan sharking.

Why would loan sharks be looking for Jacob Clark?

She turned her head, looking at the man beside her.

To her surprise, the man next to her was even more anxious than she had imagined, in a state of extreme anxiety, he quickly questioned the servant, “How many people came? Did they say anything?”

“No… There were six of them, all men.” And they all looked very strong and intimidating, “They just said to come up and inform you that they were looking for you, and that you would know what it was about as soon as I told you they were looking for you.”

Upon hearing the servant’s words, Juliet Jordan, filled with extreme unease, demanded of the anxious man, “What on earth have you done? Why are high-interest loan companies looking for you?”

Just yesterday, he had solemnly assured her that he had found a great investment opportunity, a very reliable friend tipped him off about insider information. A particular stock was about to restructure and be relisted; once it was on the market, the money could multiply by tenfold, a hundredfold.

She knew that ever since the Clark Family company was acquired, Jacob Clark was ousted from the position of Chairman, and he had never been content.

She herself never accepted being overshadowed by an illegitimate daughter for so long.

Finally seeing an opportunity and with Jacob expressing such confidence, she borrowed hundreds of thousands from her brother for him to invest.

And now, just one day later, loan sharks were at their doorstep.

Juliet Jordan’s heart felt like it was being fried in hot oil, her mouth nearly bursting with urgent blisters, “Speak up! Why would high-interest loan sharks be looking for you!”

At this point, Jacob Clark knew he could no longer hide the truth. First looking at the servant, he commanded, “You go down first, pour them a cup of tea. I’ll be right down.”

“Yes, President Clark.” The servant turned and left the study, heading downstairs.

Juliet Jordan’s unease grew boundlessly; she could not calm down at all and pressed Jacob, “What on earth did you do? Didn’t you say you were sure? Is my brother’s 1.2 million gone?”

Her brother was still entangled in a lawsuit, the company was a mess. Taking out 1.2 million this time to give to her, he had done it behind North Jordan’s back.

She had promised to use the money wisely, to double it and return it to him.

And now, in such a short time, 1.2 million gone!

If her nephew found out, how could she ever face the Jordan Family again?

Jacob Clark was already distressed. Seeing that she cared only about her family’s money and not at all about him, he finally lost his temper and said bluntly, “Yes, it’s gone!”

“It’s not just that 1.2 million that’s gone, all of our money is gone, the house has been mortgaged away, and we’ve lost all the company shares… we’ve lost everything…”

As he said that everything was gone, his eyes were bloodshot!

He himself didn’t understand how things had come to this; he was still trying to make sense of it all. Before investing in the stock, he had done his research very carefully – that stock was indeed going to undergo asset restructuring and listing, and he had even seen a big Linton City business mogul he was on good terms with throw all his money into it.

Thinking that such an opportunity was rare, he was more eager to use it as a chance to raise funds and take back Clark Family from that ungrateful daughter.

To teach that ungrateful daughter a lesson!

Who could have guessed, in just one day, that stock would be finished.

His entire fortune was finished along with that stock.
