Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1054: Chapter 1054: Let Enna Clark Take Scarlett Around the Lawrence Family House Chapter 1054: Chapter 1054: Let Enna Clark Take Scarlett Around the Lawrence Family House Old Master Lawrence seemed to have only just noticed someone nearby, turning his gaze towards her, his eyes deep, impenetrable, leaving one clueless about his thoughts. He responded directly, “Ms. Clark is a guest in our home.”

Scarlett had asked quite casually and did not expect that Enna Clark was still a guest.

In her view, Enna Clark could at most be a servant or a private nurse taking care of the Old Master, which would explain her presence here.

But, she turned out to be a guest.

However… why would a guest appear at such an important event?

Scarlett’s beautiful almond-shaped eyes sized up Enna Clark, her gaze subtly scrutinizing. She thought she had hidden it well, but the hostility in her eyes was still caught by Enna.

In an instant, Enna understood the purpose of Old Master Lawrence bringing her here—to show her who’s boss!

Just yesterday she had said that regardless of whether the Old Master accepted her or not, she would not leave Baron Lawrence. And today, the Old Master brought her to meet this beautiful, likable princess who obviously had a fondness for Baron Lawrence. If this wasn’t a show of dominance, what was it?

Enna felt a headache coming on, but she was not impolite and politely said, “Hello, Your Highness.”

Scarlett instinctively disliked her, but still returned a smile. Turning her head, she then looked towards the Old Master and said coquettishly, “This is my first time visiting the Lawrence family, Grandpa Lawrence, please give me a tour.”

Old Master Lawrence didn’t even think about it. “I have a meeting to attend to now. How about this, I will have Ms. Clark and Housekeeper accompany you for a walk.”

Scarlett was disappointed that he couldn’t join her, but she didn’t cling to the issue, “Okay, Grandpa Lawrence, please go on with your business. I can go for a stroll by myself.”

Old Master Lawrence didn’t stay long and went upstairs.

Following his instructions, the Housekeeper bowed to Scarlett and said, “Your Highness, shall we go for a walk?”

Scarlett’s original intention was for the Old Master to accompany her on the tour, so she could seize the opportunity to make an impression. Secondly, if the Old Master felt unwell or didn’t wish to go, normally, as a matter of courtesy, another master of the castle would accompany her. That way, she might see him again.

Unexpectedly, Old Master Lawrence didn’t play by the book. Not only did he not accompany her, but he also didn’t ask him to do so.

She didn’t really want to go anymore, but considering she had already come, she bit the bullet and said, “Of course. Please lead the way.”

“Very well, Your Highness, please follow me,” said the Housekeeper, leading the way before suddenly stopping and turning towards Enna with a kindly gaze, “Miss Clark, let’s go together.”

His eyes were full of affection, and Enna responded with a big smile, following along, “Alright.”

Watching their interaction, Scarlett’s brow furrowed deeply. The gaze she had cast over Enna once before fell on her again, and her puzzlement intensified.

Didn’t the Old Lord say she was just a guest?

If she was just a guest, why did they want her to give her a tour?

And why was the family Housekeeper so friendly towards this guest?

She felt peculiar inside, and the antagonism towards Enna became even more apparent, silently marking Enna as a disliked person in her heart.

Unaware that she had done nothing, Enna had already been labeled by this prestigious princess as an unwanted person. She walked beside the Housekeeper, listening to him narrate at length about the imposing castle, from its origin to the Lawrence family history, in such detail that it seemed as though he wasn’t speaking for the princess behind them but for her, as if wanting her to understand the Lawrence family a bit more…
