The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1400: Combined Trench

Rex has no time to idle around, the price of him being caught up in this was blood.

As someone who was very close to him, Kyran knew the dangers.

Being promoted to the left hand that would exact the dirty work in his name, Kyran would do anything to help. Since the problem was the endurance of the soul, as well as the fact that it was Rexʼs past they were dealing with, Kyran became the number one choice.

And he accepted the responsibility with an open arm.

Peering through his eyes, Elder Tilrith could feel the flames of his determination.

Nobody doubted his desire to help Rex, his eyes alone displayed his sole desire.

However, determination would not be enough of a currency to purchase this success.

”I understand you are energetic, and young, but donʼt plunge into the bottomless pit of your youthful cockiness,” Elder Tilrith warned and shook her head. ”Do you even know the price? If you fail, your soul will be damaged. You will be crippled and insane if that happened”

Instead of arguing, Kyran spread his arms to the side a little.

He gave Elder Tilrith a look as if he was saying ʼTry meʼ.

Realizing that no matter what she said wouldnʼt change Kyranʼs mind, she surrendered, and peered into his soul to see if it was even possible for him to help Rex. Soon enough, both of her eyes glowed with a pinkish hue.

Elder Tilrith saw through Kyran and checked his soul.

ʼA soul would take the form of the flesh,ʼ She pondered as she opened Kyranʼs defenses. ʼthe more detailed the soul is—the stronger it will be. Just like the Royal Black Princeʼs, and mine, which were basically an exact copy of usʼ

Knowing that Kyran was merely a Beta, a very young one at that, she was doubtful.

She doesnʼt have a lot of expectations for Kyran.

If she was fortunate, Kyran would have a strong enough soul to at least take on one trench.

However, she was soon proven completely wrong.

ʼWhat is this...?ʼ Elder Tilrith thought in shock.

Once she opened Kyranʼs defenses to take a peek into his soul she was taken aback when a perfect clone of Kyran, glittering in deep astral blue greeted her. Elder Tilrithʼs eyes widened as the soul was almost complete.

Every single feature he has was accentuated and sculpted.

Kyranʼs soul was also shining so brightly.

It was the complete opposite of what Elder Tilrith expected.

She was prepared to see a barely formed soul but this was beyond her wildest expectations.

ʼFor a Human standard, heʼs very young so how in the Originʼs name did he have this perfect soul?!ʼ She gasped, her composed expression cracked slightly as the shock came to sudden—this kind of occurrence was very rare.

Noticing her break of character, Kyran smirked, ”Whatʼs wrong? Surprised?”

”Incredible, young blood,” Elder Tilrith praised. ”How did you possess, such a strong soul—at such a young age? Even some who lived for more than a thousand years donʼt have this kind of soul”

”Letʼs just say that this is a side benefit from a tragedy” Kyran replied.

Enhancing oneʼs soul was a delicate and hard process.

Not to mention, it could only happen naturally without specific external help such as the aid from a Succubus—who could naturally strengthen its soul easily. Other than that, there was also the method of going to a realm, that put more pressure on the soul—forcing it to adapt or die.

And Kyran has the privilege to stay in that kind of realm for a long time.

Iseldraʼs realm—the ice and snow realm was such a place.

Being trapped there caused Kyranʼs soul to adapt and due to that, his soul is very strong.

Nodding her head, Elder Tilrith went to the side and faced the battlefield ahead.

She raised her hands and siphoned her power, commanding the entire space.

Responding to her power, the space answered her will.

Swoosh!

Under the influence of her power, the space ahead shifted—the trenches were lifted up from the ground like massive coffins and were slammed into each other. Each slam created a light but impactful ripple.

Kyran, Mavenna, and Iris watched as the trenches merged together.

Sensing the increase in steam coming from this new trench, Iris shivered.

Knowing how painful one trench could be, she couldnʼt even fathom, how much pressure one would need to endure against this one, giant trench, that was a combination of Rexʼs trauma, into one.

One thing is for sure—if it was Iris taking on this giant trench, her soul would be shredded.

Upon completing the combination, Elder Tilrith lowered her hands.

Boom!

In response, the massive trench fell back down and sunk into the ground.

Once the trench was ready, Elder Tilrith looked around, there was a hint of worry on her face.

Mavenna caught sight of the worry and couldnʼt help but frown.

ʼWhat is she worried about? Itʼs not like she never dealt with this kind of ordealʼ She thought.

As a powerhouse from the Demon Kingdom and the possessor of the Sin of Lust, Elder Tilrith was an expert at keeping her composure—and showing no internal turmoil to others. But she was struggling to keep her composure at this moment.

Naturally, Mavenna was confused as to what could possibly cause her concern.

Pivoting away from the battlefield, Elder Tilrith gave a nod to Kyran.

It was ready, he could test his mettle against Rexʼs painful past.

Before tackling what lies ahead, Kyran approaches Rexʼs flaming soul with a serious look.

”I promise I will endure this no matter the cost,” Kyran said determinedly.

Despite his promise, attempting to assure Rex—that he was going to succeed, Rexʼs flaming soul projection didnʼt answer. Kyran didnʼt wait for an answer and walked over to the trench, with firm steps.

Once he was beside Elder Tilrith, he was stopped.

”If itʼs ever too hard, tell me and Iʼll pull you out. We can make it two sessions” She said.

Kyranʼs soul was strong, but it was still doubtful whether he could endure what lay under this massive trench. And Elder Tilrith rather have him do two sessions than him dying, as that will only be a hassle.

Upon hearing this, Kyran wanted to argue but refrained from doing so.

It was Rexʼs past they were talking about.

Making light of it would only be disrespectful and even then, he wasnʼt confident to succeed 100%, there was still a chance that he could fail. So instead, he nodded. If he felt like he was close to reaching his limit, he would bail out.

Once he understood, Kyran headed over to the massive trench and looked down to its depth.

Nothing could be seen other than darkness.

Jumping into this trench was a threat of its own as what awaited him on the other side was unknown, covered by this darkness. Steeling his heart, Kyran glanced back at Rex, one last time before he nodded.

Giving no warning, he leaped into the trench—his body swallowed by the darkness.

Kyran regulated his breaths within this cold and empty darkness.

Exactly as Iris explained to him earlier, the darkness around him began to fade and almost in an instant, Kyran suffocated. He reached for his chest, gasping for air as he fell to the rough floor under him.

ʼFloor...?ʼ Kyran frowned when he realized that he touching the floorʼs cold surface.

He tried to look around but he couldnʼt.

It was as if his own body wasnʼt listening to his mind.

But soon he realized the reason, this wasnʼt his body—it was Rexʼs.

Like a first-person spectator, he was looking from Rexʼs own eyes as the situation unfolded.

”Krrggh...” Kyran grunted as a powerful migraine struck his head.

As his gaze finally shifted, he took in his surroundings.

A stark, clinical room unmistakably part of a Human hospital facility, the sterile scent, made it clear enough to confirm it. A few steps away lying on a bed were Evelyn and Gistella. Both of them were unconscious.

Both of their forms are underscored by the hum of medical equipment monitoring their care.

ʼEvelyn? Gistella?ʼ Kyran frowned inside. ʼIf they were here then this must be...ʼ

Noticing the two of them, Kyran realized where he was and when.

However, it was too hard to focus as his vision became blurry and the world was spinning.

In a desperate, stumbling manner, Kyran stood up and headed to the hospitalʼs lobby.

He passed a lot of people and they were all looking at him weirdly but he couldnʼt focus on them, the uneasiness and the suffocating sensation were climbing as he neared the lobby, and he was on the brink of passing out.

Upon reaching outside, the suffocation reached its zenith.

Kyran stumbled and fall, hyperventilating, the problematic sensation only grew, to the point that he could feel his soul being chipped away. His chest seemed like it was being pressed, his head was spinning, and there was this constant howl ringing in his ears.

Throughout his entire life, Kyran never felt something like this.

It was akin to an invisible physical attack.

Just moments earlier, he had the strength to move this body if he had control but now, he was confused and shocked as to how Rex could reach the lobby, when the sensation was this overwhelming.

But as if that was not enough, he saw the appearance of a normal brown wolf.

In hindsight, it looked like a normal wolf but at the sight of this wolf, the sensation that was assaulting Kyranʼs body, turned into excruciating pain—almost as if someone had taken his heart and stomped it repeatedly without mercy.

Once he saw that, the darkness returned—swallowing the background instantly.

Kyran was back to his own body.

He coughed out blood repeatedly as his soul cracked at the sight of the brown wolf.

Gritting his teeth, he tried enduring the pain that stabbed his soul, ʼThat moment, I think itʼs when Rex realized his motherʼs death. I knew—that it was a tragedy, I knew that Rex was in pain but feeling it first-hand but I now realized that I had undermined his painʼ

Feeling the pain directly, Kyran was left breathless.

He didnʼt want to feel that kind of pain ever again, it was crippling and horrendous.

Giving no time for him to recover, the darkness began dissapearing again.

”So this is how it worked...” Kyran muttered, preparing himself. ”Iʼm going to be shown—rapid episodes of Rexʼs trauma that lies within each one of the trenches. I now understand how Iris got hurt. If one is already that bad, what happened after two, three, or even ten episodes?”

As he thought of that, the next episode manifested.

Kyran found himself in a dimly lit room, bathed in the eerrie glow of red light.

His arms were bound and suspended from the ceiling, leaving him no choice but to support his weight on weary legs. Exhaustion weighed heavily on him—even the simple act of lifting his eyelids felt like an impossible effort as he struggled to take in his surroundings.

However, before long, he was splashed by cold water from behind.

Feeling the coldness, Kyran hissed.

Just then, a man in military uniform—with the sleeves rolled—Lieutenant Beard circled from behind and threw a bucket to the side. He grabbed Kyran by his hair and forced him to look at the lieutenant, ”You talked back to me and I canʼt have that, do you understand?”

”Now, Iʼm going to punish you,” Lieutenant Beard said as he pushed Kyranʼs face roughly.

He went to the cold table on the side—and scanned the torture equipment in a nonchalant manner, ”I donʼt care if youʼre in one of your episodes, I will not tolerate you disobeying my words. In here, Iʼm your God. My words are absolute”

Soon enough, Lieutenant Beard settled on a whip.

It was lined with jagged bullet shards, their sharp edges glinting like cruel fangs along its length, crafted to tear flesh with every strike. He grabbed the whip, turning around—and headed to Kyranʼs behind.

”I will whip you 100 times but only whipping you would be boring,” Lieutenant Beardʼs voice echoed from behind—a haunting voice that sent shivers down Kyranʼs spine. ”Since I heard you hated the Werewolves so much, letʼs take this up a notch...”
