Several breaths later, Xu Jin added a friend and was immediately approved, only then did he leave the Pill Dawn Academy.

Next, he had to decide on the most important matter for his future—choosing which Academician to be his teacher.

The advice given by the State Preceptor was to follow his heart, and the Mountain Master Dong Zhao recommended choosing based on first impressions, from the heart.

Since that was the case, he then sent out invitations to those he had visited before.

His first visit was naturally to one of the Four Great Academicians, Fang Shihan, to whom he had sent an invitation the day before.

However, Xu Jin did not meet Academician Fang in person. After waiting for 15 minutes at the door of Academician Fang’s Academic Hall, Xu Jin was finally called in and was received by Academician Fang’s top disciple, Fang Ying.

To be honest, upon meeting him, Xu Jin instinctively disliked Fang Ying, feeling he was somewhat stiff.

Inside Academician Fang’s vast Academic Hall, it was also extremely quiet, the atmosphere seemed quite oppressive, and all disciples greeted Fang Ying with utmost respect.

Disliked.

So, from the heart.

Xu Jin then gave another prepared excuse.

Thanking Academician Fang for his gracious affection but mentioning that Mountain Master Dong Zhao had already made a recommendation, asking for understanding.

It was not that Xu Jin was making Mountain Master Dong Zhao take the blame carelessly.

Rather, it was Mountain Master Dong Zhao who had taught Xu Jin to say this.

In the National Taoist Institute, before you grow, interpersonal relationships are very important, especially with these power magnates. You might not need to flatter, but it’s better not to offend them if possible.

Otherwise, sometimes a word from them can cause you significant losses.

This was what Mountain Master Dong Zhao had personally told Xu Jin the night before.

Apparently, Academician Fang sending Xu Jin an invitation was probably a casual gesture, likely not valuing Xu Jin very highly.

Otherwise, after such a long time, even if he couldn’t come in person, mentioning this to Fang Ying on the Star-picking Order would have been possible.

But Fang Ying made no attempt to retain him, simply remarking, ”What a pity.”

A few minutes later, Xu Jin visited another one of the Four Great Academicians, Academician Pan Hong, at Pan Hong’s Academic Hall, where after waiting for 15 minutes, he was invited in and actually met the man in person.

Xu Jin only glanced at Academician Pan Hong’s appearance before pulling out his refusal.

Still, it was Mountain Master Dong Zhao taking the blame!

No choice, rejected due to ugliness.

This Academician Pan, not only was he exceptionally ugly, but he also had a fierce appearance, much like an actor surnamed Du from a previous life, definitely not from the heart!

Subsequently, Xu Jin visited other Vice Academicians.

He didn’t meet some, and some had disciples receive him.

Basically, those who only sent letters were quite reserved.

Even when meeting the Academicians in person, it was pretty much the same—no discussion of benefits or future teaching plans, Xu Jin barely even had the chance to ask.

Xu Jin’s plan was actually to meet these Academicians and casually seek advice from them to see what their training or educational plans were for him?

Whether they had any tailored teaching plans.

Even if not substantial, just verbally saying a few words would have greatly increased Xu Jin’s good impression.

At least it shows dedication!

In anything, attention is crucial!

If they don’t even have that bit of consideration, it essentially means that if they take Xu Jin as a student, it would be very ordinary training.

Or perhaps, does this relationship between True Disciple and Academician still hold the unpleasant customs of past world disciples passing on the arts?

Treating one’s master as one would one’s father?

Or what?

In Bailu Plains, an ancestor of the Lu family, Lu Mashao, got a backdoor opened at the hearth and took a shortcut, thus learning culinary arts!

Forget it, unable to follow the heart.

After meeting these individuals, Xu Jin brought out the excuses he had prepared earlier and declined.

Several in a row, unable to follow the heart.

Xu Jin simply steeled his heart and directly headed to Vice Academician Liu’s Feiyan Academy.

No sooner had he announced himself than he saw Vice Academician Liu, dressed in a palace skirt, quickly approaching the stone steps in front of the hall, followed by several young girls.

”Since you’ve come, don’t just stand there, come in. I thought you weren’t coming,” Liu Qingzhu said briskly and clearly, her speech comfortingly swift.

Xu Jin hurriedly greeted her and, as he raised his head, saw her imposingly slender waist paired with a formidable bosom, not daring to stare too long for fear of being rude, quickly lowered his gaze.

Yet he saw an array of long legs.

At least five pairs of long legs, one in short practice attire, even revealing fair ankles.

For a moment, Xu Jin didn’t know where to rest his eyes.

On the stone steps, a group of young girls looking at the embarrassed Xu Jin suddenly burst into laughter, including Liu Qingzhu, all laughing so hard Xu Jin was very worried.

He truly feared they might fall, should he help them or not?

That was a question.

It was also the first time Xu Jin had seen such a scene since coming to this world, so he felt a bit flustered and at a loss.

But amid the bell-like laughter of the group of girls, Xu Jin quickly adjusted his mindset, straightened his posture, smiled, and looked directly at them.

What was there to be intimidated by?

In his past life, at nightclubs and on beaches, those long legs, slender waists, and formidable bosoms, although he had never embraced them, his eyes had scanned them countless times, nothing to be scared of!

”Come in, gathering at the door of the Academic Hall is unseemly.”

Right when Xu Jin was worried about them falling, Liu Qingzhu led the group of girls into the inner part of the Feiyan Hall.

Inside, there were many disciples in Inner Court attire, including some sweeping, all greeting and curiously scrutinizing Xu Jin.

At that moment, Xu Jin also felt at ease, feeling somewhat from the heart.

Not just because of so many youthful, beautiful long legs, but crucially because it was very relaxed.

Vice Academician Liu’s Feiyan Hall had a very relaxed atmosphere.
