Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 259: Chapter 135 Two Pieces (Please Subscribe)

Before the ritual altar at the back of the Red Scale Royal Court palace, Lord of Red Scale, Chi You, who hadn’t closed his eyes for three days, was sitting cross-legged before the altar, clutching that blurry divine statue in his arms, staring dead fixedly above the altar with eyes full of bloodshot veins.

He was waiting for the arrival of his chance at life.

The envoy had said, the thing he promised would arrive within seven days.

If counted by the days, today was the seventh day; if by two-hour periods, then there were just a few more two-hour periods left before the full seven days.

As long as he received what the envoy promised, he, Chi You, would be able to obtain a new life.

As for the Red Scale Tribe, given time, they would definitely be reborn.

Of course, his original plan was for him to shake off control and attain rebirth, and for the Red Scale Tribe to do the same.

Currently, it seemed very unlikely for the Red Scale Tribe to see a rebirth.

But that wasn’t important. As long as he could free himself from control and be reborn, that would be enough.

The city walls of the Red Scale Royal Court were quite well-constructed; unlike those earthen walls of the five major tribes meant to protect their people, the four-meter-high walls were quite magnificent.

But for Xu Jin, they were but a light leap to cross over.

He didn’t even need to use his Star Power.

They say a lion still uses all its might to catch a rabbit, and at this moment, Xu Jin was doing just that.

He didn’t brazenly charge in, but instead, once again, carefully and cautiously, he used invisibility to sneak in, searching for the mid to late period experts within the Royal Court.

After a round of searching, Xu Jin did not find any late period experts. In the entire Royal Court, those who could pose a threat to Xu Jin were presently only seven people.

One at the Sixth Layer of Refining Star, two at the Fifth Layer, and four at the Fourth Layer.

As for those of the Red Scale Clan at the early period of Refining Star, Xu Jin deemed them unworthy of his concern. Now that his cultivation level had already broken through to the Peak of Star Casting, he could extinguish them with a flick of his fingers.

Lord of Red Scale, Chi You, was still very cautious.

Knowing patrols were useless and that he couldn’t spread his elite warriors thin.

Hence, all thirty-two Refining Star Realm elites were assembled around the ritual altar at the back of the palace.

Xu Jin had seen such altars before within other tribes, having asked Young Clan Chief Chi Xiang of the Fire Separation Tribe, who said that when they originally sealed the Star Gate, it was this very altar they used, with many Star Jades employed.

What Xu Jin was curious about was, with the Star Gate already sealed, what was this Lord of Red Scale, Chi You, still doing in front of the altar?

The night Xu Jin had made his kill, this Chi You was just sitting in front of this altar.

Was there some unknown use he was unaware of?

It looked like dispersing to assassinate was not feasible.

Xu Jin crept carefully, approaching the Refining Star Sixth Layer expert at an extremely slow pace.

When he got within ten meters, Xu Jin suddenly erupted.

A strong surge of Star Power fluctuated instantly.

Ten meters wasn’t a distance that required the Flying Star Step for Xu Jin, as he’d arrive in a blink, but he used it anyway.

At the moment Xu Jin’s figure appeared, he was already behind the Refining Star Sixth Layer expert, Star Radiance bursting instantly.

Before the expert could react, the Star Radiance had already blasted onto his back.

A punch with two and a half folds of Star Power in a Star Radiance Burst killed him.

Almost simultaneously, a Star Ring with a span of over fifteen meters fiercely rippled out.

Refining Star Realm warriors in every direction staggered, and those Red Scale Warriors at the early Refining Star level had their Body Protective Starlight shattered.

In the same instant, Xu Jin flicked his ten fingers rapidly.

Star Arrows fell like rain.

Twenty-four early period Red Scale Clan elites died pitifully in rapid succession.

What was bizarre was that even faced with all that had transpired and the tragic death of the Red Scale elites, Lord of Red Scale Chi You, with a Cultivation Level as high as the Ninth Layer of the Star Refining Realm, didn’t make a single move.

He appeared completely indifferent to the deaths of his Red Scale elites.

Xu Jin instinctively felt something was amiss, but decided to first take care of the other enemies.

The next instant, Xu Jin burst forth toward another Refining Star Fifth Layer Red Scale elite, detonating two Star Radiance Bursts.

Two folds of Star Radiance burst, and that Refining Star Fifth Layer Red Scale elite was killed.

In that moment, tucked away in a corner at the edge of the altar, Prince Chi Meng watched Xu Jin, who was less than ten meters away, suddenly pocket away the Red Scale Heart he had been holding and continuously channeling Star Power into.

Leaping out instantly, the moment he swung his arms full circle, a Flame Hammer congealed instantaneously, slamming onto Xu Jin’s back in the very moment of its manifestation.

The moment Prince Chi Meng put away the Red Scale Heart, Xu Jin’s Mingji Star Pattern of his Lower Star Palace flashed briefly.

”A aura of Ninth Layer of Refining Star!”

The moment he realized this in his mind, Xu Jin felt something wrong at his back. Instinctively, he conjured a Star Shield behind him and crazily poured in Star Power.

But just as the Star Shield had formed, the Flame Hammer wielded by Prince Chi Meng crashed down on it.

The Star Shield shattered.

Xu Jin had preemptively infused three folds of Star Power into his Body Protective Starlight, which did hold up to the hammer blow.

The Body Protective Starlight rippled, scattering more than eighty percent.

But simultaneously, a flame bloomed under Xu Jin’s feet, instantly burning up the remaining Body Protective Starlight, though by then, Xu Jin had already burst into a Flying Star Step, preparing to widen the distance first.

The moment he moved, the second hammer had already slammed onto Xu Jin’s back.

Bang!

Xu Jin’s First Tier Star Weapon, the Croc Dragon Soft Armor, shattered bit by bit under the blow.

However, the Flying Star Step he activated dispersed some of the offensive force.

A tremendous force of flame Star Power penetrated into Xu Jin’s body, causing him to violently spew blood from his mouth, but he managed to escape the perilous situation.

In the blink of an eye, he zipped out a hundred meters away. Behind him, Prince Chi Meng, whose Cultivation Level had broken through to the Ninth Layer of the Refining Star Realm, pursued him like a shadow.

With a thought, Xu Jin launched a series of Thunder Snakes.

Three consecutive Thunder Snakes blasted above Prince Chi Meng’s head, shaking his Body Protective Starlight, and his speed abruptly dropped.
