After speaking, Starlight flashed and Liu Qingzhu disappeared.

Xu Jin was shocked.

He hadn’t even seen clearly how Liu Qingzhu had left.

That movement technique was really...

Then came a bitter smile.

This Vice Academician Liu was really something, in the end, even resorting to threats.

In the next hour, Xu Jin received another group of visitors and three letters, all with the same purpose, which worried him.

Being too outstanding is also a trouble, a real dilemma!

At 9 p.m., Ning Yuchan, who had gone to the National Taoist Institute’s Star Fire Hall to study Star Pattern, returned.

Originally, Ning Yuchan had come to the National Taoist Institute for secluded cultivation, and the Institute had arranged free accommodation and meals, but since Xu Jin had a large courtyard and Jiang’er also needed to nurture at the Central Star Palace, they had Ning Yuchan stay with them.

After all, it was big and spacious enough.

With Ning Yuchan’s arrival, Xu Jin had someone to seek advice from, and he told her all about the issues.

After listening, Ning Yuchan was also a bit overwhelmed, ”Xu Jin, back in my day, I was also a True Disciple, but only two Vice Academicians sent me invitations. It was very easy to choose, and the teacher I chose was very good.”

”Teacher...”

”Hold on.”

Ning Yuchan suddenly interrupted Xu Jin, ”Xu Jin, after entering the National Taoist Institute, the term ’teacher’ has a completely different meaning. It represents a relationship that goes beyond that of disciples. You should stop calling me teacher.

From now on, just call me Sister Yu Chan or Senior Sister Yuchan.”

”But, you taught me...”

”I did teach you, but once you’re at the National Taoist Institute, calling me teacher might upset the Academicians who accepted you as a disciple! In the National Taoist Institute, ’teacher’ holds special significance, and an Academician may mentor only about ten students in their lifetime. You can’t use it lightly,” Ning Yuchan urgently explained.

Seeing Ning Yuchan insist so firmly, Xu Jin relented, ”Then Sister Yu Chan, your teacher was a Vice Academician back then, what about now? What if I acknowledge him as my teacher?”

Upon hearing this, Ning Yuchan looked saddened, ”My teacher left the National Taoist Institute in a huff because of an issue with me and went to the Galaxy Battlefield. It’s been a long time since I had contact with him.”

Xu Jin was shocked.

”Here’s what you do, you should ask the Mountain Master. Mountain Master Dong Zhao is quite knowledgeable about matters within the National Taoist Institute. I will go to nurture Jiang’er at the Central Star Palace,” said Ning Yuchan.

”That’s a good idea.”

An hour later, Xu Jin left the residence of Mountain Master Dong Zhao.

Mountain Master Dong Zhao, the Vice Supervisor of the National Taoist Institute, had a residence much larger than Xu Jin’s, comprising a two-section compound, and it too was free of charge.

When it came to choosing a teacher, Mountain Master Dong Zhao gave advice, but it was essentially inconclusive.

Mountain Master said, among the Four Great Academicians and twelve Vice Academicians, anyone who actively extended an olive branch to Xu Jin could be taken as a mentor, and there would be no loss with any choice.

Currently, out of the sixteen Academicians, thirteen had reached out to Xu Jin with an olive branch.

Two Academicians and seven Vice Academicians had sent letters.

Three Vice Academicians had sent disciples.

Only Vice Academician Liu Qingzhu had personally visited to extend the olive branch.

The conditions naturally fell into three categories.

Those who sent letters offered similar terms, those who sent disciples offered better terms, and currently, the conditions given by Vice Academician Liu in person were the best.

According to the Mountain Master, whether disciples of an Academician or a Vice Academician, the treatment isn’t poor, the difference lies in the relationship.

Xu Jin understood this.

It’s all about connections!

The disciples of the Four Great Academicians were each in high positions, either as Mountain Masters of County Taoist Institutes or Generals of the Galaxy Battlefield. The future network was not the same.

The disciples of Vice Academicians were slightly inferior, but they were allotted more resources for cultivation and received more dedicated attention.

Each had its pros and cons, it was up to Xu Jin to choose.

In the end, Mountain Master Dong Zhao left Xu Jin with four words: ”Favor and Heart.”

So, whom to choose as a teacher?

That’s a big question!

Being too outstanding is indeed difficult!
