Chapter 113: Chapter 92 Just Want to Work (Please Subscribe)_2

Upon inquiry, it was known that the Baidou Divine Sect’s den here had existed for over three months.

Apart from this, a preliminary count showed that half of the abducted girls came from Jinshan County, while the majority of the others likely came from Yangdu County,” Tian Zhang reported.

”Three months, nearly three thousand people.”

Governor Li Da’s gaze was as sharp as lightning when it suddenly fell on Mountain Master Zhou Jianping of the Yangdu Taoist Institute, who was jittery, ”Mountain Master Zhou, this is a matter for the Star Patrol Guards, isn’t it? What do you say?”

”I... Governor, it was my negligence.

But our entire Yangdu County belongs to the domain of the Yangdu Marquis, and this Thousand Leaf Island in Autumn Leaf Lake is even the Marquis’s private domain, where commoners are not allowed without cause!” At this point, Zhou Jianping could not afford to offend anyone and could only hastily pass the buck.

It seemed trivial at first, but as Tian Zhang reported a series of data, Zhou Jianping started to panic.

From the data, this was the largest gathering of the Baidou Divine Sect for evil deeds found in nearly twenty years.

Normally, a gathering of a thousand people was already a major case.

But this location had nearly three thousand people, and possibly even more!

”I have no jurisdiction over your institute to impose any penalties, but all details will be reported to the National Taoist Institute, and further instructions will come from the State Preceptor,” said Governor Li Da, looking at Dean Lu Chenfeng of the Yan State Taoist Institute.

”Governor is most righteous,” Lu Chenfeng responded coolly.

”The Changshi and Military Adviser of Yangdu County aren’t here yet?”

These two individuals were directly responsible for this incident of the Baidou Divine Sect gathering for evil deeds, but they had yet to arrive.

”Bai Qi,” Governor Li Da suddenly called out.

”At your command!”

”Go, search for them. If they resist, kill them on the spot!” ordered Li Da.

”At your command.”

The robust Guard General Bai Qi, licking his lips and smiling, took the order and was off, another opportunity to kill!

However, Guard General Bai Qi returned in less than three minutes.

Two pale-faced officials followed behind him.

One of them was Military Adviser Lu Yuanchen of the Yangdu Marquis Mansion. Upon seeing Governor Li Da, he knelt down and kowtowed, ”Governor, it is my negligence that allowed the evil demon and Evil People to infiltrate Thousand Leaf Island, I implore the Governor to punish me.”

”Are you confessing your guilt?” Li Da bellowed.

Lu Yuanchen did not speak again, only continuing to kowtow.

”Changshi Zhou, do you have anything to say?”

Changshi Zhou Yixian hurriedly bowed and said, ”Governor, it has been ascertained that it was the servant of the Military Adviser who took the Silver, saying it was to provide a token to a childhood friend from the same hometown to fish in the lake for a living, and there were additional benefits.

The adviser was misled by others, so I plead with the Governor to show leniency.”

”Show leniency?”

Li Da glanced at the sky, then at the direction Tian Zhang had vaguely indicated towards the pit of corpses, the orders on the Star-picking Token in his sleeve from the Marquis of Yangdu, were numerous.

After a moment, Li Da suddenly opened his eyes, ”Even if I am willing to be lenient, the aggrieved souls of the hundreds of girls in that pit are not willing to be lenient!”

”Kill him!”

”Understood!”

In an instant, Guard General Bai Qi drew his long saber, and with one swing, Military Adviser Lu Yuanchen’s head rolled several meters away, his neck spraying fresh blood and he died on the spot.

Seeing the Military Adviser’s head hit the ground, Changshi Zhou Yixian secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

”Bai Qi, relay the order to the Governor’s Mansion, command them to take people immediately to Yangdu County, to raid and arrest the family of Military Adviser Lu Yuanchen, and detain them, waiting for the detailed military report to be presented at court, and await disposition by the court officials,” Li Da instructed.

”Understood!”

While Guard General Bai Qi received the order, he felt some disappointment, because he could not go on the raiding mission himself, which was not only an opportunity for enrichment but also one to kill.

Any who resisted could simply be killed, the cleanest solution.

In the next instant, Governor Li Da took out his own Star Picking Token, and as his palm passed over it, beams of starlight projected downward, instantly conjuring a holograph of the Marquis of Yangdu clad in a Python Robe, his voice emanating forth.

”This lord did not govern his household strictly, causing trouble for all of you.

I wish to extend my thanks to Mountain Master Dong and Dean Lu, without you two, I would still be on the battlefield, possibly deceived for an even longer period, fortunately you were there.”

Mountain Master Dong Zhao gave a salute towards this beam of starlight, ”It’s only our duty, the Marquis speaks too highly.”

Dean Lu Chenfeng, however, replaced his somber face with a faint smile, ”The Marquis is too kind.”

”Governor Li, I am currently far away on the battlefield, all these distasteful matters, I leave to you to handle!

Discover anyone in my mansion involved, you catch and kill them, use severe torture, find anyone connected, do not need to consult me, whether to arrest or kill, let it be by your sole decision, I must have my house clean!” the Marquis stated.

”Rest assured, my Lord, I will handle everything publicly.”

”That’s good.”

The projection of the Marquis of Yangdu, after a final glance at Dong Zhao, dissipated.

”Alright, the matters that follow shall be taken over by my Governor’s Mansion. These rescued girls should each be returned to their homes, but they must be observed for a period to ensure no remnants are hidden amongst them,” Governor Li Da made the final disposition of the matter.

Hu Xuechuan and Mei Longwei, two viceroys from Star Hall, exchanged glances, somewhat disappointed.

Missed out on benefits, missed out on the drama.

They had hoped to pick some benefits; the Baidou Divine Sect was an evil cult, but indeed, there were benefits to be had when exterminating a den of Baidou Divine Sect.

Unfortunately, they were too late; by the time they arrived, Cao Chun was nearly done taking the benefits, they could only watch.

Thinking about it, this might have been all calculated by that sly Dong Zhao, never missing a detail in his actions.
