Chapter 97: Chapter 87 Thunder on Rainy Day and Upgrade (Four updates, 18K for first subscription, asking for monthly passes)_3

Only three more things left: Second-tier Starlight, a thousand catties of Refined Iron, and a hundred catties of Purple Copper.

Ever since Xu Jin had broken through to the Fifth Layer of the Dining Dawn Form, he had been storing up Second-tier Starlight.

Furthermore, the practice of the Dining Dawn Form, following the Fifth Layer, hardly consumed any Star Power; the two strands of Starlight gained daily for ceremonies were scarcely used by Xu Jin, and were all stored up.

After eight days, that totaled sixteen strands.

It was also because the cultivation of the Golden Spreading Chapter hardly consumed any Star Power, thus Xu Jin continuously infused Star Power into the Candou Platform during the daily morning and evening lessons.

When he had just reached the Fifth Layer, one strand of Second-tier Starlight was enough to fill Xu Jin’s Star Power, but moving toward Perfection from the Fifth Layer and succeeding in engraving the Great Gathering Star Pattern, the total amount of Star Power inside Xu Jin surged.

Now, filling Xu Jin’s Star Power required one and two-thirds strands of Second-tier Starlight.

In other words, every two cycles of the Dining Dawn Form allowed Xu Jin to pour three strands of Second-tier Starlight into the Candou Platform.

If fully cultivating in the morning, at least four cycles of the Dining Dawn Form, as of three days ago with the complete solidification of the Clearing Soul Star Pattern, Xu Jin’s Divine Soul Power could support him undergoing five cycles of the Dining Dawn Form every morning and five cycles of the Drinking Radiance Style every evening.

If all were used for pouring, fifteen strands of Starlight could be infused into the Candou Platform in a day.

Of course, over the past eight days, Xu Jin had not used all the Starlight from the morning and evening lessons solely to nourish the Candou Platform.

But it was not a small amount either.

In the past eight days, Xu Jin had also poured eighty-two strands of Starlight into the Candou Platform. Adding up with the stored ones, the Starlight amount on the Candou Platform was now up to ninety-eight strands.

However, after using two strands tonight at Zhao Mansion, the Starlight on the Candou Platform was now ninety-six strands, four strands short of upgrading the Candou Platform to Third Tier.

Some casual pouring during tonight’s cultivation would make up the difference.

Now, what was lacking was a thousand catties of Refined Iron and a hundred catties of Purple Copper.

In this world, these two types of supplies were not absolutely controlled military materials, yet they were also not something that anyone could easily obtain in large quantities.

Earlier, Xu Jin had inquired indirectly at the Forging Hall of the Taoist Institute, and these raw materials were not for sale there; they were in short supply themselves.

He needed to figure out a way to obtain them.

Thinking things over, Xu Jin once again turned and flew towards a large blacksmith shop he remembered in a county city.

Previously, a blacksmith shop in Heshui County had stored hundreds of catties of Refined Iron; surely there should be a thousand catties in the county city’s shop?

On a rainy night, the manager who was watching over the closed Refining Edge Iron Shop was awakened by urgent knocking.

”Who is it?”

While getting dressed, the shopkeeper also woke up the guard, a Seventh Layer cultivator of the Dining Dawn Form.

”Star Patrol Guard on duty, please open the door promptly.”

Hearing this, the shopkeeper breathed a sigh of relief. The Star Patrol Guard had a good reputation and generally did not cause trouble, but he still signaled the guard to stay alert.

As the door opened, a Star Patrol Commander’s Token rushed in with the drizzle.

Taking the token, the shopkeeper’s expression tightened, and he bowed, ”I’m not aware of the issue, please instruct, officer!”

”Ordered to urgently requisition a thousand catties of Refined Iron and a hundred catties of Purple Copper, do you have them?”

The complexion of the shopkeeper twitched, fearing exactly that.

Though the Star Patrol Guard had a good reputation, securing repayment for such requisitioned items was difficult afterward.

Who would dare approach the Star Patrol Guard to demand debts?

Should these be taken away, how would he explain it to his employer?

It was hundreds of taels of Silver.

Just as the shopkeeper was nervously hesitating, Xu Jin immediately slapped down three Silver notes of a hundred taels, ”Is that enough, if not, just say so. The Star Patrol Guard is on duty, we’re requisitioning, not robbing you!”

”Enough, enough!”

The shopkeeper, upon receiving the Silver, was overjoyed. He had not anticipated that the Star Patrol Guard these days would be so generous as to pay for urgent requisitions.

Truly, if calculated by price, not only was it enough, but there was also a little profit.

This way, he could explain to his employer.

Minutes later, the shop apprentice and the guard quickly moved a copper ingot and ten ingots of Refined Iron outside the shop, and with a wave from Xu Jin, they were dismissed.

In the next instant, Xu Jin waved his hand, and a thousand catties of Refined Iron and a hundred catties of Purple Copper vanished from the spot and appeared atop the Candou Platform.

Shortly after, Xu Jin disappeared into the rain curtain.

Minutes later, the shop apprentice sneakily opened the door, looking at the empty iron and copper ingots, he couldn’t help but envy.

Such heavy items, casually moved away, being a cultivator was truly great!

So powerful!

He also felt a bit of longing!

On his way back to the Jinshan Taoist Institute, Xu Jin pondered on shaking people down.

The only possible choices were Qi Shanye and Ning Yuchan.

Would he shake down both, or just one?

Xu Jin was considering.

However, upon returning to his residence at the institute, Xu Jin didn’t rush to shake anyone down but instead started arranging the Drinking Radiance Style.

On his way back, having taken three Star Refilling Pills, Xu Jin had recovered some Star Power and had poured a strand of Starlight into the Candou Platform.

Three strands short.

After upgrading the Candou Platform to Third Tier, he would shake people down.

There was no convenience on the road, and it wouldn’t take much time either.

Half an hour later, after two rounds of the Drinking Radiance Style, Xu Jin successfully poured three strands of Starlight into the Candou Platform, bringing the total Starlight amount to one hundred strands.

In the next instant, as Xu Jin’s thoughts sank into the Candou Platform, there was a change in the information displayed.

The message on the Jade about [Upgrade Available] had changed to [Upgrade], sparkling with Starlight, as thoughts landed, the entire Candou Platform gleamed.

In the next moment, Xu Jin’s thoughts were cast upon it.

[Upgrade]

Almost the moment Xu Jin intended, a strand of invisible Starlight rose from the Candou Platform, shooting straight into the sky.

In the void, in the Star Domain where the North Dipper Stars were located, nine stars suddenly flickered all at once, shining for a brief moment before returning to normal.

The duration was very short.

In the towering Star Picking Tower of the Great Chen Capital, Wanyi.

The Great State Preceptor of Dachen, Cheng Yuxiao, suddenly sensed something and looked up to stargaze. But by the time he looked up, the North Dipper Stars had returned to normal.

Cheng Yuxiao frowned!

This scene was simultaneously enacted in several places, with different individuals sensing it.

But dazzling Starlight had already fallen from the sky, landing on Xu Jin’s Candou Platform.

On the Candou Platform, a brand-new Star Lamp was slowly taking shape.
