Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 553: Chapter 553: She Believes in Him!

“Master Jue, based on my understanding of Miss Chi, I think Miss Chi may not be able to accept it.” Huo Yi and Kim Zhiyuan shared the same view.

Li Beijue tensed his jaw, enunciating each word, “Even if I have to knock her out, I’m going to terminate that pregnancy!”

Regardless of whether that woman accepts it or not, he can’t accept the pain of potentially losing her!

The only way out was to terminate the pregnancy.

Even if Chi Enen woke up and hated him, disliked him, and ignored him, he still had decades to explain to her, to help her slowly recover from her grief, and gradually accept him again…

He could wait for a living person in grief, but not for a lonely grave!

If there ever came a day where he was waiting by a solitary grave, the first one to break down would surely be him!

Li Beijue clenched his fists so hard that the veins on the back of his hand bulged prominently—

“Also, Chi Enen is definitely carrying a son! I took her to the most efficacious church in Country Y this afternoon, where the pope personally prayed for her, saying it would be a boy! Therefore, it must be a son she’s carrying!” He didn’t seem to know whom he was trying to convince, emphasizing his point so heavily as if by convincing Huo Yi, it would certainly mean a son inside Chi Enen’s womb!

At the study room doorstep.

Chi Enen couldn’t bear to listen any longer; she feared she would break down if she did.

Her face pale, she carried the coffee back to the living room.

Because of the shock, her ears were still buzzing non-stop when she sat down on the sofa—

—If Chi Enen is carrying a daughter… then terminate it!

—Chi Enen is definitely carrying a son! I took her to the most efficacious church in Country Y this afternoon, where the pope personally prayed for her, saying it would be a boy! So, it must be a son she’s carrying!

What does this mean?

Didn’t they go to the church this afternoon to pray for the child’s safety and happiness?

He took her there for the pope to pray for her to be carrying a boy?

If it’s not a boy, he’s going to terminate the pregnancy? Even to the point of knocking her out to do it?

Chi Enen’s fingertips trembled slightly; she had a gut feeling that there must be some misunderstanding. Yet, no misapprehension could outweigh the shock of hearing Li Beijue’s intent to terminate their child!

Why terminate if it’s a daughter?

Because he values males over females?

He only wants her to bear a son, a son who can inherit the family?

Chi Enen’s mind was in turmoil; she noticed that night in Rainy City that Li Beijue didn’t like the idea she was carrying a daughter, but she had only thought he preferred a son. She never imagined he would dislike it to the extent of wanting to terminate the pregnancy upon finding out it’s a daughter!

Chi Enen bit her lower lip, which had turned so white it lost all its color.

Yet, Li Beijue didn’t seem like someone who would so blatantly favor sons over daughters. Before he knew about Baby Chi’s existence, he had also mentioned wanting her to carry a child of theirs. Back then, he referred to “a child,” not “a son.”

Chi Enen’s heart gradually calmed as she remembered the various things they had experienced together over these days and held the Starry Necklace around her neck; her heart completely settled.

Li Beijue wasn’t that kind of person.

She had just overheard that one line.

There must be some misunderstanding in between, surely because she only caught half of it.

No matter whether she bore a son or a daughter, Li Beijue should share the same attitude as her, hoping the little bun in her womb would be healthy and intelligent.

So, she must have misunderstood!

Chi Enen stood up, ready to ask Li Beijue directly—
