Alchemy Master

Chapter 196, Entering the Alchemy Tower

Translator: Silavin

Qin Yichen was thoroughly familiar with everything inside the Alchemy Tower. After all, he had spent a long time in this Northern Region Alchemy Tower before. Thus, he was quite clear about the personalities and characteristics of some of the people inside.

A great example was Xiao Lin in front of him.

The profession of Alchemy Master was something everyone wanted to be, but it was also an industry that not everyone could enter.

The main reason, of course, was that it was too expensive!

Especially when practising how to control Spiritual Energy, it often makes many people discouraged.

Most Alchemy Masters would rely on certain Forces to seek funding. Naturally, the Alchemy Tower was not exempt from this. Thus, there were a lot of murky undercurrents even in this place. In fact, most of the Alchemy Masters inside have certain connections with Forces outside, and the resources in their hands had also been provided by those Forces.

Xiao Lin was an exception to this. He was considered an independent Alchemy Master. He had no strong background, nor did he rely on any major Force. He had come this far solely relying on his own talent and perseverance.

Back then, in the Alchemy Tower, his relationship with Qin Yichen was quite good. After all, the two had many things in common. This was also why Qin Yichen was so open when facing him, not worried at all. He knew Xiao Lin was not the kind of person who would bully others using his status and power.

Although he appeared strict towards others, his heart was actually softer than anyone else’s.

“We’re returning to the Alchemy Tower!” With the examiner’s loud shout, a row of carriages from the Alchemy Tower had approached the group from one side.

*Hmph!* Huyuan Songqing sat in the first carriage with an ashen face, while the remaining Alchemy Masters also entered the carriages according to their test results.

“My young friend, I’ll wait for you in the inner courtyard of the Alchemy Tower.” Xiao Lin was obviously eager to go back and try. After greeting Qin Yichen, he quickly left.

At this time, only the last carriage of the Alchemy Tower was empty. Qin Yichen had no objections to this and got in.

As the Alchemy Tower carriage convoy left, countless people around the square slowly came back to their senses, but the shock in their eyes had not yet completely faded.

“That… that kid passed without even taking the test?”

“It… it seems so…”

“It looks like the Alchemy Tower will soon have another Grandmaster.”

Even after the Alchemy Tower carriage convoy had disappeared from sight, the onlookers were still in a state of shock and were murmuring.

Late for the test, then defeating the first place examinee with an absolute advantage. Finally, daring to challenge an Elder of the Alchemy Tower. Not only did he receive no punishment, but he even got strongly recommended to enter the Alchemy Tower by the same Elder! If this had not happened in front of their eyes, they would not have believed it.

But this seemingly impossible scene actually happened right before their eyes!

Such an anomaly, from the moment it appeared, had already broken the calm surface of this lake called the Central Province.

…

Alchemy Tower.

Located about a hundred kilometres east of Central Province City, it may not sound very large when called Alchemy Tower, but in reality, it covers nearly a hundred kilometres, with its back connected to an endless mountain range. Its vastness even far exceeds that of Central Province City.

In the centre of this area stands a tall tower, which was the Alchemy Tower that all Alchemy Masters in Central Province aspire to, a place which countless powerful people revere!

The Alchemy Masters who have the qualifications to enter the Alchemy Tower were all extremely talented individuals. Any Alchemy Master who comes out of the Alchemy Tower wpi;d definitely be a target for recruitment by various major Forces in the Central Province.

Following a wide road and passing through multiple checkpoints, the carriage convoy carrying Qin Yichen directly entered the area under the Alchemy Tower.

After about half an hour, the convoy finally stopped in front of a huge stone tower.

As soon as he got out of the carriage, before he could take a good look at the stone tower in front of him, Qin Yichen frowned.

Because he found that in front of the gate of the stone tower, there were more than ten young people standing there, and their eyes were fixed on him. That kind of gaze was like a hungry beggar seeing delicious bread.

[Heh, treating me as an easy target?] Qin Yichen, with his memories of the rules of the Alchemy Tower, also knew very clearly what the meaning in these people’s eyes was.

The people who passed the test would ride in the carriages according to their rankings. He came out of the last carriage, obviously being considered by these people as the last place in the test… of course, logically also the easiest to bully.

“Alright, congratulations on passing the test and officially becoming a member of the Alchemy Tower. However, I hope you can persevere in the Alchemy Tower.” The examiner looked at the few people in front of him with a smile, then waved his hand, and several white chips shot out from his hand, flying towards each person.

What he said naturally also meant that even if one entered the Alchemy Tower, there was still a danger of being eliminated!

The few who passed the exam all reached out to catch these white chips flying towards them, and then curiously examined them.

However, they did not notice that more than ten young people with strong Spiritual Energy fluctuations not far away were now looking at them with fiery gazes. The desire in their eyes was not hidden at all.

Qin Yichen also lowered his head to look at the chip in his hand. When he saw the red number ‘ten’ on the chip, a smile curled up at the corners of his mouth.

The card in his hand was a kind of currency in the Alchemy Tower, called Alchemy Card.

The Alchemy Card represents the identity of an Alchemy Master in the Alchemy Tower. It was divided into five levels according to colour: white represents a One Star Apprentice of the Alchemy Tower, and above that were green, blue, red, and purple, representing Two, Three, Four, and Five Star Apprentices respectively.

To upgrade the level of the Alchemy Card, one needs to increase the number on the card.

In the Alchemy Tower, resources were abundant and provided for free. However, there was no free lunch in this world, and the Alchemy Tower was no exception. To get resources, one must make enough contributions.

That was the value in the Alchemy Card.

“Alright, they will take you to the One Star Dormitory later. If you have any questions, you can ask them.” The examiner pointed to the more than ten young people standing in front of the Alchemy Tower, and said to Qin Yichen and others with a strange smile.

The newcomer’s journey in the Alchemy Tower was about to begin. It happens once a year, seemingly always mundane. Would anyone give them some new excitement this time?

“*Tsk tsk* only nine people passed the test this year…”

“*Hehe*, it seems there’s not enough to go around.”

As soon as the examiner left, the more than ten young people at the gate of the Alchemy Tower scanned the nine people who had just entered the Alchemy Tower without restraint, and contemptuous laughter came from their mouths.

Among these more than ten people, two had two lines on their robes, clearly these two were Two Stars Apprentices!

“Young Master Songqing, I was ordered to guide you.”

At this time, a Two Stars Apprentice with Spirit Realm Spiritual Energy fluctuations walked up to Huyuan Songqing and respectfully bowed.

“No rush, I want to see how some people are going to eat humble pie later.” Huyuan Songqing glanced at Qin Yichen and calmly said.

“Alright, stop wasting time, you take the Junior Brothers away.”

Another Two Stars Apprentice wearing a blue robe waved his hand and said, then walked towards Bian Lingzhu. “Junior Sister, my name is Xiu Shashu, let me take you to the Dormitory.”

Seeing this young man’s actions, envy flashed in the eyes of the rest of the more than ten people. However, they seemed to be somewhat wary of this young man called Xiu Shashu, so they could only watch helplessly as he approached this beautiful girl.

The remaining Senior Apprentices almost simultaneously turned their gaze towards Qin Yichen on the far left. They remembered very clearly that this guy got out of the last carriage, which means, among these people, he was the easiest to bully.
