Chapter 195, Impressing the Elder

At this moment, Bian Lingzhu bit her rosy lips, wanting to plead for Qin Yichen, but she also knew that in front of Xiao Lin, she had no right to speak. Moreover, her interference might even further anger Xiao Lin.

[Oh? Still haven’t broken through? It seems he’s indeed still working on the Clear Mind Pill…] Feeling the terrifying Spiritual Energy surrounding him, Qin Yichen showed no fear at all. Instead, a smile appeared on his face. This sudden smile even made Xiao Lin feel as if this young man seemed to have breathed a sigh of relief.

[Does he have a death wish?] A preposterous thought flashed through Xiao Lin’s mind.

“Elder Xiao Lin, you’re really an old stubborn fellow…” Under the gaze of countless people, Qin Yichen said something shockingly audacious with a smile on his face.

Sure enough, as soon as these words were uttered, the space around Qin Yichen seemed to tremble even harder.

Has Xiao Lin been completely enraged?

“Idiot!” Huyuan Songqing was almost bursting with joy at Qin Yichen’s arrogance. It seemed that Elder Xiao Lin would help him get rid of a troublesome person.

“Three years, and you still can’t develop the formula for a mere Fourth Grade Pill like the Clear Mind Pill. You don’t even know how to change your approach…” Despite the terrifying Spiritual Energy fluctuations around him that almost made it hard to breathe, Qin Yichen’s expression did not change at all. He just kept talking to himself.

*Crack!* Suddenly, a crisp sound rang out in the almost solidified space at the centre of the square. Then, people felt that the Soul shaking fluctuations seemed to dissipate.

“What’s going on?”

“What happened?”

Confused gazes looked towards Xiao Lin in bewilderment. They were stunned to find that Xiao Lin, who was originally enraged, now wore a look of surprise, staring at Qin Yichen in astonishment.

“El… Elder Xiao Lin…” Seeing Xiao Lin’s expression, the examiner could not help but softly call out.

However, Xiao Lin paid no attention to his call or the countless confused gazes. He stared intently at Qin Yichen, then suddenly moved, directly appearing beside Qin Yichen and grabbing his shoulders. “How do you know about the Clear Mind Pill? Do you have a solution?”

At this moment, Xiao Lin’s heart was filled with confusion, mixed with a hint of hope.

The development of the Clear Mind Pill was known only to a few Elders in the Alchemy Tower who were close to him. He had indeed spent three years on developing the Clear Mind Pill, but for some reason, he was always one step away from success, as if something was not quite right.

Many Elders in the Alchemy Tower had advised him to give up on developing this Pill, but Xiao Lin had his own reasons for not abandoning it.

“You added so many medicinal herbs for clearing the mind and nourishing the Soul, yet you don’t know that the herbs counteract each other, nullifying their effects. It’s only because your Spiritual Energy cultivation is decent that your Pill Furnace has not exploded yet.” Qin Yichen brushed off the hands gripping him like claws and calmly said.

“The herbs counteract each other? Impossible, I’ve tested each herb, there’s no conflict…” Xiao Lin was not angered at all by Qin Yichen brushing off his hands, but instead fell into deep thought.

After pondering fruitlessly for a while, Xiao Lin looked at Qin Yichen again, as if seeking help.

“Lingyan Herb, Hundred Year Old Lingzhi, and Spirit Heart Grass, these three medicinal herbs together originally do not conflict. But if the amount of Lingyan Herb is even slightly more, the Medicinal Liquid will not be able to condense.” Qin Yichen shook his head and casually said.

“The amount of Lingyan Herb is too much? But I’ve also tried reducing the amount of Lingyan Herb…” Xiao Lin frowned, about to ask more questions, when he noticed the other’s dissatisfied look.

“*Ahem…* well, I can’t even set foot in the Alchemy Tower, *haaaa…*” Qin Yichen sighed, looking up at the sky with a sorrowful expression.

Hearing this, Xiao Lin was stunned for a moment, then his face turned red due to embarrassment. Only then did he remember that he was about to punish this young man earlier. How did it suddenly turn into him needing help from the youth?

However, Xiao Lin really could not resist the urgent desire to know in his heart. He looked Qin Yichen up and down, and finally spoke. “As long as you can solve this problem of mine, entering the Alchemy Tower won’t be an issue.”

Qin Yichen rolled his eyes. He had originally planned to tell this old man after entering the Alchemy Tower, but did not expect him to be so impatient…

However, given Xiao Lin’s reputation, since he had promised Qin Yichen, there was no fear of him going back on his word.

“*Hehe…* In that case, you’re lucky. If you hadn’t met me, probably no one could help you with this Pill. Since I like you, I’ll tell you.” Having achieved his goal, Qin Yichen chuckled, then directly put an arm around Xiao Lin’s shoulders and whispered in his ear: “Although this Pill of yours isn’t High Grade, it’s a Compound Pill. So no matter how you try, you won’t succeed.”

“Compound Pill? What’s that?” Xiao Lin did not care at all about how shocking their current posture looked to others. Following Qin Yichen’s words, the confusion in his heart seemed to crack open a bit. He himself had vaguely felt that the Pill he was developing was different from ordinary Pills.

“A Compound Pill refers to a Pill that integrates different medicinal effects into one…” Qin Yichen pondered for a moment, then thought, although Xiao Lin had a bit of an eccentric temper, his reputation in the Alchemy Tower had always been excellent. It seemed that starting with him to promote Compound Pills was not a bad idea.

Under countless astonished gazes, Qin Yichen and Xiao Lin looked like old friends who had not met for decades. They stood arm in arm, conversing as if no one else was around. Moreover, Xiao Lin even set up a Spiritual Energy barrier, preventing others from knowing what they were discussing.

Finally, after about a quarter of an hour, after Xiao Lin understood what Compound Pills were, the shock in his eyes could not be hidden!

Before him, it seemed a new and different path had opened up.

If it was really feasible, it would be revolutionary!

He did not know how Qin Yichen knew about this, but if the Clear Mind Pill could really be successfully made, what harm was there in letting this young man enter the Alchemy Tower?!

Then, under countless gazes, Xiao Lin turned around and said directly to the examiner. “This youth has outstanding talent. Too outstanding. Since he could defeat Huyuan Songqing in an Alchemy Duel, it proves his ability. There’s no need for any test, just admit him directly into the Alchemy Tower!”

The examiner was stunned upon hearing this, obviously not having reacted to this drastic change. His body trembled, and he nodded vigorously.

Although he did not know how Qin Yichen had moved Xiao Lin, as long as Xiao Lin had spoken, even if Huyuan Chixing blamed him, it would not be his responsibility.

At this moment, the faces of the few outstanding Alchemy Masters behind the examiner also showed some changes.

It was well known that the rules and hierarchy in the Alchemy Tower were famously strict. They could not understand what kind of sweet talk Qin Yichen had given Elder Xiao Lin to make him break this great precedent of the Alchemy Tower.
