Alchemy Master

Chapter 164, Lost

The status of an Alchemy Master was different no matter where they went.

“Brother, are you going to the Northern Wasteland?” Qin Yichen asked directly as he approached this group of mercenaries.

“That’s right.” The mercenary, who had been calling out, was slightly taken aback by his Qin Yichen’s age, but still nodded in response.

“I wonder if you could take me along?” As he spoke, Qin Yichen took out his Alchemy Master Medal.

The medal was still an ordinary one. However, it proved that he was an Alchemy Master.

“Such a young Alchemy Master…” The mercenary was about to refuse, after all, an ordinary Alchemy Master would not be of much help to their mercenary group.

But he hesitated because of Qin Yichen’s age. After all, Qin Yichen was really too young. At such an age, he was already an Alchemy Master. Who could estimate his future achievements?!

“What’s going on?” The commotion attracted a burly man from the middle of the group. Beside him were two girls, one big and one small. One was about sixteen or seventeen, while the other was only eleven or twelve.

“Captain.” Seeing this burly man, the mercenaries all saluted.

“Captain, it’s like this…” The mercenary who had been calling out explained the situation.

The burly man also frowned, but after sweeping a glance at Qin Yichen, his eyes narrowed.

He found that the young man before him did not seem as frail as the typical Alchemy Master, on the contrary, his aura was large and steady, like a Martial Artist.

[An Alchemy Master who practises Martial Arts?]

“I am Xiang Wu, the captain of the Dawn Mercenary Group,” the burly man cupped his hands towards Qin Yichen.

He did not look down on Qin Yichen just because he was young. He was also clear about why an Alchemy Master would be going to the Northern Wasteland.

With such courage, his future achievements would certainly not be low. After all, the Northern Wasteland was not a place everyone dared to visit.

“I’m Qin Yichen, I hope Brother Xiang can take me along,” Qin Yichen said with a faint smile.

“Of course, that’s no problem…” Xiang Wu certainly would not refuse this great addition. Being able to befriend an Alchemy Master with a promising future was something many people dreamed of.

“No way.” At this moment, a cold, aloof voice came over.

The speaker was the sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl behind Xiang Wu. She had a tall figure, and her slightly tight-fitting clothes perfectly accentuated her shapely body. She also seemed delicate, with a pretty face that exuded an air of aloofness to it. At first glance, she looked like someone not easy to get along with.

“Dad, he’s just an ordinary Alchemy Master. He’d just be a burden to us” The girl’s words were harsh, but she was speaking the truth. An ordinary Alchemy Master would indeed not be of any use to their mercenary group.

Qin Yichen awkwardly rubbed his nose bridge, thinking that even if he said he was a Level 3 Alchemy Master now, no one would believe him.

“But, this Big Brother is all alone. He is so pitiful…” However, the eleven or twelve-year-old little girl beside the older girl tugged at her skirt, speaking up for Qin Yichen.

The little girl wore a light yellow tattered dress, was small and delicate, with large bright eyes that were clear and cute. Her slightly chubby cheeks made people want to pinch them.

“Ya’er, don’t be naughty.” The burly man first reprimanded the sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl, then said to Qin Yichen with a smile, “If Little Brother doesn’t mind, let’s quickly set off.”

He clearly saw through the situation. If Qin Yichen was really just an ordinary Alchemy Master, why would he come to such a place?

Moreover, even someone with great talent would be anxious when going to a dangerous place for the first time, but there was not a hint of fear in Qin Yichen’s eyes.

[He is certainly not simple].

“Dad…” The sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl stomped her foot, but could not change Xiang Wu’s mind.

“Please excuse us, Brother Qin.” Xiang Wu introduced to Qin Yichen, “This is my Eldest Daughter, Xiang Ya, and this is my Younger Daughter Xiang Xuan.”

Qin Yichen felt a bit awkward as Xiang Ya kept glaring at him, seemingly very resistant to his presence.

With the addition of an Alchemy Master, after the Dawn Mercenary Group got ready, they entered Misty Forest.

As he stepped inside, treading on the soft, damp decaying leaves, Qin Yichen’s spirit immediately tensed up.

Just after entering, the mist in the forest was not too thick yet, it only had visibility of about twenty metres or so. With keen vision and Spiritual Energy, one could still see the surroundings clearly.

However, as they went deeper, even using Spiritual Energy, being able to sense about ten metres around was already quite good.

However, this did not stump the mercenaries of the Dawn Mercenary Group. They had rich experience in traversing over such terrain. Even though they could not see the path ahead clearly, their walking speed did not slow down.

Qin Yichen felt very fortunate to have joined this experienced mercenary group. If he were left here alone, he might not be able to find his way even after ten days or half a month, because there was simply no path here.

As they went deeper, Qin Yichen soon sensed an unusual aura. He felt that something was following the group.

As this feeling grew stronger, the mercenaries also sensed this unusual aura.

Xiang Wu crouched on the ground briefly, then alerted all the mercenaries to be on guard.

Soon after, a group of Demonic Beasts surrounded them from all directions…

There were about twenty Demonic Beasts, with the strongest having reached the Martial Grandmaster Realm, and the weakest at the Peak Stage Martial Master Realm.

Seeing this group of Demonic Beasts, Xiang Wu frowned.

He was not afraid of these Demonic Beasts, but rather, this group of Demonic Beasts included all kinds of beasts – Wolves, Tigers, Leopards, and even Lizards and Tusked Boars.

This was very strange. After all, many of these Demonic Beasts were natural enemies, yet they were now gathered together.

Xiang Wu had no time to think too much, because these Demonic Beasts had already pounced.

“Kill them!”  Xiang Wu wielded a large sword, killing a Demonic Beast that charged over with one strike. The mercenaries of the Dawn Mercenary Group behind him did not panic either, closely following and charging towards the group of Demonic Beasts.

In one encounter, several Demonic Beasts fell, but surprisingly, these Demonic Beasts not only did not retreat, but became even more ferocious, completely fearless of death. They kept pouncing like moths to a flame.

Fortunately, Xiang Wu’s cultivation was not low, and the people of the Dawn Mercenary Group were all exceptionally skilled. This wave of Demonic Beasts was quickly defeated.

The price paid was that everyone had suffered minor injuries to varying degrees.

While the mercenaries were happily skinning the Demonic Beasts and digging out their Cores, Qin Yichen frowned as he scanned the surroundings. He felt that there was something in the darkness around them, making him very uncomfortable and unable to relax.
