Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 840: Chapter 840: A Show of Force

Everything here was arranged, and when Su Yuanyuan got off the plane, she was warmly welcomed.

Su Yuanyuan wasn’t incapable of chit-chatting, she just didn’t like it, but she didn’t speak. With two interpreters by her side, she could leave things to them.

This was considered leaving a backup plan. One must not show their hand.

After some pleasantries at the airport, they took the car arranged for them to the hotel where they would be staying.

After a flurry of activity, it was already past five in the morning.

Everyone was quite energetic, and after freshening up, Qin Zhiyuan was responsible for opening the meeting. Su Yuanyuan did not participate.

Some people really didn’t adjust to breakfast, but they didn’t show it.

Su Yuanyuan didn’t mind; she just ate simply.

The following schedule was particularly packed.

During the meeting with the local leaders, Su Yuanyuan listened to them. The interpreter translated for her on the side.

Actually, they all knew that this Deputy Minister didn’t need interpreters, but the leader insisted, and they understood his intention.

During the meeting, Su Yuanyuan wore an appropriate smile. There were no excess expressions, even if someone said provocative words, her actions remained the same.

In fact, the establishment of diplomatic relations had been discussed earlier between the two countries; this was just a formality. They would send a delegation to visit within a month.

Although Su Yuanyuan was annoyed by their words, they didn’t cross a line.

But when she heard the request for unconditional aid of food and oil from her country, she put down the pen in her hand.

After the interpreter translated, the room became extremely quiet. Everyone was watching this young female minister.

”Translate for them, free meals aren’t that easy to come by.”

A man with glasses translated directly.

Su Yuanyuan picked up the pen again and toyed with it in her hand.

”Everything is reciprocal; expecting us to give unconditionally isn’t going to happen.”

The domestic attendees knew that the minister was losing her temper. It should be a mutual discussion, so how did it become one-sided in their mouths?

Although surprised, no one showed it on their faces, and the interpreter conveyed the message directly.

”First, you need to understand that the establishment of diplomatic ties is not only beneficial to us.

Why do I feel like you’re trying to jack up the price?”

The interpretation was done without pause, and everyone was indeed surprised.

Initially, they underestimated the situation with a young woman, but they didn’t expect her words to be so firm.

”If you sincerely wish to establish diplomatic relations, we are very pleased and willing, but if not, sorry, we don’t have time to engage in such game-playing.”

Despite her sarcastic words, her expression remained calm, accompanied by a slight smile.

Foreign attendees who didn’t understand her words thought she was very agreeable. But the domestic attendees knew she was angry.

They began to explain, saying life there was difficult and the two things were urgently needed by them.

”Tell them we haven’t reached the capability for poverty alleviation yet.”

Qin Zhiyuan was listening on the side, smiling with his eyes, oh man, that comment was sharp.

This stirred up quite the commotion, with voices becoming more agitated and tones turning unpleasant.

Su Yuanyuan continued to toy with the pen in her hand, her expression unchanged, just listening to their talk.

The discussion continued for ten minutes, while on her side, they leisurely waited; everyone present at the meeting was influenced by the leader’s calmness.

After their discussion, someone strongly insisted on meeting their demands.

”Tell them this meeting is over; there’s nothing left to discuss. Don’t apply for diplomatic relations with us within ten years.”

The interpreter boldly translated Su Yuanyuan’s words.

Su Yuanyuan started packing the documents on the table, and her subordinates did the same.

Su Yuanyuan found it quite amusing; this was an attempt to temporarily increase their bargaining position. But how could it be agreed to? She wasn’t even willing to agree to the terms discussed previously; how could she agree to their unreasonable demands?

Initially, seeing Su Yuanyuan made them condescending, and this outcome was negotiated among them. But unexpectedly, they were directly told there would be no diplomatic relations for ten years, which was quite troubling.

Due to their geographical environment, they were indeed lacking in oil and food.

They planned to increase their bargaining terms once the visitors arrived, hoping to gain benefits through haggling. But unexpectedly, it turned into walkout.

At this point, Xie Fenglan had already gathered all the documents and directly followed behind Su Yuanyuan.

As she got up to leave, everyone else followed suit.

The interpreter hurriedly tried to keep them there.

Su Yuanyuan turned back, ”You can, but all conditions must be renegotiated; I no longer recognize the previous terms.”

The interpreter relayed this to their leaders, which made them angrily embarrassed. But seeing the smiling woman standing there, they were truly at a loss.

Some didn’t think so, though, shouting about being on their turf, speaking quite unpleasantly.

Su Yuanyuan ignored them; after all, if it wasn’t according to her terms, it wouldn’t work. She had no time to accompany them in such fickle dealings.

Seeing no one stepping out to refute her, the shouting became more intense.

Su Yuanyuan turned and walked away. All the accompanying staff followed behind her in a protective manner.

The head of this side saw the negotiations were about to collapse, which wouldn’t do. So he quickly instructed the interpreter to stop them and personally stood up, smiling to try to keep Su Yuanyuan.

”Tell them all terms must be revised. If they want to take advantage, they need to present a proper attitude. No time to fool around.”

The interpreter resolutely conveyed Su Yuanyuan’s words.

Seeing that they were too firm, there was no choice but to agree to sit down and discuss.

”Tell them this is the last chance. If anyone disrupts again, there will be no need for further talks.”

After the interpreter’s message, the conference room was extremely quiet. The leader gritted his teeth and agreed.

Only then did Su Yuanyuan return to sit down once more.

The initial attempt to intimidate didn’t work, and the subsequent discussion improved significantly.

The interpreter listened to Su Yuanyuan’s words and was apprehensive, wondering if this would lead to an assassination by them. Still, without any hesitation, he conveyed the content that needed revision.

This caused another uproar. This was clearly heading towards becoming a subsidiary of theirs. How could this be?

Su Yuanyuan calmly wrote on the contract, completely ignoring their discussions.
