Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 811: Sighs

”Hong Ming, when you meet Xiao Su this time, just mention it to him. After all, Old Zhou and I once weathered life and death together.”

Shao Huade also felt extremely embarrassed. He knew Su Yuanyuan would come over, but didn’t have the face to meet her.

”I understand, Dad. Don’t overthink it; what’s done is done. Let’s just leave it at that.” Shao Hongming also feared that dwelling on this would affect the old man’s health.

Shao Huade sighed, ”Alright, I understand.”

After Shao Hongming hung up the phone, he also stopped working.

He knew about the Zhou Family’s matters. He also knew this was Zhang Chunsheng’s doing, and he was aware of his relationship with Su Yuanyuan.

He could understand why it was done this way. The way the Zhou Family ended up was Zhou Yongheng’s own doing, truly not related to others at all. It’s not a matter of what others want to happen; the root issue is within their family.

Honestly, how many are truly clean? It’s just that no one has reported it.

Now the Zhou Family wanting to overturn things is impossible. Zhou Yongheng has said too much that shouldn’t have been said.

As for Su Yuanyuan, it seems she was never involved in this matter. Whether she knows about it or not is hard to say. But this shouldn’t have been under her instruction. She avoids trouble and wouldn’t persistently pursue it.

Never mind, let’s leave it at that and talk to Su Yuanyuan when I see her. She’s not someone devoid of understanding, and Dad’s actions probably didn’t cross her bottom line.

Su Yuanyuan put down the phone and returned to class. To be honest, she could understand Shao Huade’s call and didn’t hold any resentment against them.

When school ended, it was with Qin Zhiyuan that she left together.

”How’s it going? I noticed you learn faster than we do.”

”Oh, nothing much. I just bought two books and read them at home.”

”I’m really impressed with you.”

”What’s to be impressed about? I just have more time since both of you have work.”

Qin Zhiyuan merely smiled. That’s no excuse.

”By the way, the list for going abroad has been finalized. Shao Hongming is going too.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, ”I’m just waiting to depart.”

”But this time, we’re flying.”

Su Yuanyuan didn’t mind; it’s all the same to her. The plane is faster, and as for safety concerns, she knew worrying was pointless.

Returning home, she saw a note on the door. Recognizing Zeng Hongling’s handwriting, she didn’t go inside but directly rode her bike to find Zeng Hongling.

”Yuanyuan, I’ll make you noodles with soybean paste tonight.”

”You shouldn’t exert yourself; I can do it.”

”No need. You’re tired from school; just wait for Yang Liulang to come back and make the dough.”

”I’m not all that tired.”

”I want you to rest. I can’t bear to see you overworked.”

”Getting used to it?”

Zeng Hongling let out an exaggerated sigh, ”I hardly have any time. I never planned on getting into this field, but now I have no choice. Even though I don’t have to do research or make medicines, at least I can’t be fooled. I have to know the basics, right?”

Su Yuanyuan laughed at Zeng Hongling’s words, ”Yes, with your attitude, you’ll definitely succeed.”

”Yuanyuan, do you think it’s possible to set up a pharmaceutical factory back home?”

”It should be possible. If things go well here, setting up a factory there won’t be a problem. If changes are allowed, it can be established in the north. As long as there’s a plentiful supply of medicinal herbs.”

”I’m considering going back home, to live with my grandfather and father.”

The Zeng Family has few people, and leaving each other always raises concerns.

When Yang Liulang returned, he washed his hands and rolled out the dough while talking to Su Yuanyuan about the pharmaceutical factory. It’s already in production with unexpectedly good sales.

”Alright, you guys make your own decisions.”

Zhan Yunzhao and his group of three also came back. Watching the vibrant old Taoist, Su Yuanyuan thought he’s become much more down-to-earth.

The six of them happily had dinner together, and everyone went home afterward.

Wei Guangxiang soon caught up with Su Yuanyuan.

”What’s wrong? Is there something you wanted to ask?”

”Su Yuanyuan, I just wanted to know if you’re really thinking about setting up a pharmaceutical factory in the north. Can I join?”

”You’re interested? This matter is up to you guys to discuss; I’ll go talk to the leadership for approval.”

”Hmm, I see. I don’t want to go back.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded. She was flexible about it.

Wei Guangxiang accompanied Su Yuanyuan back home and then left.

The next morning, before she headed to class, Yang Chunsheng came by.

”Yuanyuan, I’ve visited several times, but the house was always locked. Today I came by before work just to check in.”

Su Yuanyuan, noticing the changes in Yang Chunsheng, thought to herself, is this the transformation that comes with having kids?

”How’s the child doing?”

”Pretty good, getting really chubby. My mom is taking great care of him. But she wants to go back home.”

”Aunt is homesick.”

”Yes, she asked me to give you this letter.”

Su Yuanyuan took the letter and set it aside. ”When is Aunt going back?”

”Not decided yet. My mom wants to take Xiao Qiang back, but my wife and I are reluctant to let go.

My mom said she’ll bring the child back once it’s time for school.”

”That actually isn’t a bad idea. The main thing is that Uncle must feel quite lonely on his own at home. Once the child is in pre-school, they could come back.

It’s just a matter of two or three years. Alternatively, your wife could stay home to care for the child, which would probably be best.”

”We’re still discussing it. She’s just worried about losing her job. Afraid to let go.”

Su Yuanyuan didn’t know what to say. Although Yang Chunsheng hadn’t explicitly asked for her help, that seemed to be the underlying implication.

”Brother Chunsheng, I can’t promise anything about the future, but if things remain as they are, I think I could help find a job for your wife.

But that’s not a certainty. Who knows what might happen in the future?”

Zhang Chunsheng hastily waved his hand, ”You don’t need to worry about it. I believe I can support my family.”

Su Yuanyuan felt gratified, seeing that Yang Chunsheng didn’t have ulterior motives. Even if he did, it would have been understandable.

”I can imagine Aunt really adores her grandson, right?”

”Yes, and Xiao Qiang is attached to her. Except when he’s nursing, he spends all his time with his grandma.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded; it was getting late. They parted ways.

Half a month passed, and Qin Zhiyuan and the others had almost completed their studies. They applied to graduate early with the teacher’s permission.

Since it was a small class, their learning progressed quickly.

The school had no objection, and after their exams, all three had excellent grades. So they graduated early.

It was already July. In a little over a month, they’d reach mid-July.
