Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 485: 485 alone

After eating, the four of them returned to the hotel. The person in charge over here saw them coming back with large bags and sighed in relief, as Lu Jianjun had specifically instructed him to take care of the four of them.

But he couldn’t do anything about them going out on their own, especially with his poor language skills.

”Boss, we still need to go out. Also, on the way, four people tried to rob us, but I took them down. It’s best if more people go out together.”

Lu Jianjun was taken aback. ”Xiao Su, are you alright?”

”Don’t worry, Boss, I’m fine. We plan to go to the library in the afternoon.”

Lu Jianjun understood what Su Yuanyuan meant. ”Xiao Su, be careful, many materials are not allowed to be taken abroad.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, ”I understand.”

She could still manage it, so she thought of taking the kids to the library to see more things.

Now is the time to learn from everything. This doesn’t count as going against her principles.

The three of them returned to the room, all took baths, and the kids were very interested in their showerhead.

”Don’t worry, your dad will definitely look into it. He’ll definitely make one for you when we go back.”

”Mom, can’t we buy it to take back?”

Su Yuanyuan thought for a moment as she helped her daughter dry her hair, thinking about how to explain it to them.

They were still young, wondering how to say it so they would understand.

”This is like if you make something yourself, it’s your creation, and no one else has it. If others want it, would you give it to them?”

Qi Wen nodded, ”I would.”

”Qi Wen, Mom wasn’t referring to your brothers, family, or friends, but rather strangers who want your things, would you give it to them?”

Qi Yan nodded, ”Mom, I understand now.”

”Actually, even if we buy it now, when we go back, we might not be able to bring it with us. Once we leave, they will surely check us thoroughly.”

”Okay, we understand.”

The four of them tidied up and went out again.

The library building was quite distinctive. It was also one of the landmark buildings here.

The four of them entered the library smoothly.

In fact, they felt no pressure because they thought even if you want to buy, you can’t take it back.

After entering, the three children, accompanied by Su Yuanyuan, wandered in the children’s book section, looking for things they liked. She had time on this visit, so she intended to slowly find what she needed.

The three children knew some words, but only a few. So, Su Yuanyuan still had to translate for them.

The three children picked out more than ten books. ”Mom, are there any books about making airplanes?”

”Yes, let’s go take a look.” Actually, there were only superficial ones in the library.

They wouldn’t have the chance to access them otherwise, but they would definitely try to find a way.

Even if it seemed unethical, it could save a lot of detours.

The four of them found three books about airplanes, including engines and cars.

Although they wouldn’t have in-depth introductions, there might be something needed, or even some important hints.

While Su Yuanyuan was reading, Qi Yan pulled his mom, ”Mom, look, someone like us.”

Following her son’s gaze, Su Yuanyuan saw a middle-aged man.

She lowered her head, ”Yes, someone like us, but he probably isn’t considered one of us anymore.”

”Why?”

”Because he has taken foreign nationality, now he’s considered a foreigner to us.”

Having read some comic books, Qi Wen suddenly spoke, ”Does that mean he’s a traitor?”

Su Yuanyuan noticed the man’s body suddenly stiffen.

”It’s hard to say.”

”Mom, why?”

”Because of personal interests, perhaps? Some people lack a sense of righteousness. The benefits here must be more than our country offers.”

”So, he is a traitor, right?” Qi Hong added.

”Alright, don’t bother about other people’s business, but you all must remember. You must never do this in the future, or I won’t recognize you. One must not forget their roots.”

The three little ones nodded together, looking very serious.

The four continued reading. Actually, she quite understood such people; different pursuits, different values. Everyone has their viewpoints and choices.

In reality, she shouldn’t use morality to bind others, but this is about national sentiment. While it’s unnecessary to comment on others, it’s absolutely a no for her children.

They picked a few more books about agriculture. Actually, Su Yuanyuan wanted books on agricultural machinery, but there really weren’t any.

She wondered if she should go to the universities and buy textbooks from the students.

This was currently the best solution, otherwise impossible to access.

Her Divine Sense was still observing that person.

He became very stiff after she and the children spoke, seemingly unable to read any longer.

Su Yuanyuan spent nearly two hundred yuan at the bookstore. It was already past four when they came out.

”Mom, are we going back now?”

”Yes, let’s go back. Aren’t you tired?”

All three shook their heads, ”We can only come out during the day; at night we mustn’t. Better to tell them quickly.”

Su Yuanyuan knew that the fellow countryman had also come out with them.

She didn’t pay attention to such people, so she carried the books she bought. The kids carried what they bought themselves. This way, it was easier for her.

They had walked for about ten minutes. ”Wait a minute.”

Su Yuanyuan heard the stiff tone and really felt quite sad.

She turned to see a middle-aged man jogging over.

When he approached, Su Yuanyuan stepped back a few steps to maintain distance.

”May I help you with something?”

Shen Zhigang saw her warily looking at him, and a bitter smile appeared on his face.

”Ma’am, I just saw fellow countrymen and wanted to say hello.”

”Hello, then, anything else?”

”Ma’am, I overheard what you said to the children.”

Su Yuanyuan raised an eyebrow, ”What? Can’t I speak, or can’t I speak the truth?”

Shen Zhigang immediately shook his head, ”No, no. I just saw fellow countrymen and wanted to say a few words. It’s your freedom to say whatever.”

Su Yuanyuan smirked slightly, ”Then I’m sorry, but I need to go.”

If nothing else, you came over just to say hi? Even if you want to talk, I don’t want to listen.

She understood their choice, but with her character, she couldn’t accept it.

She called her three children and turned to leave.

Shen Zhigang watched the backs of the four, feeling very upset. He regretted it deeply, very deeply.

At that time, he consoled himself. Science knows no borders, and this place was suitable for self-development, but only he and his partner stayed; the others returned to their homeland.

Watching them being treated that way when they left, he actually regretted it.

Someone once asked him what if the things he researched one day targeted his own country?
