Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 460: 460 became

Yang Chunsheng couldn’t contain his excitement as he held his work permit.

He really didn’t expect that he would become a full-time employee now.

Tan Shaoting and Li Ziwen were chatting idly in the office, waiting for Secretary Lin to bring Yang Chunsheng back.

Tan Shaoting stood up and said, ”Director Li, thank you very much. I’ll leave now. He’ll take a few days to complete the formalities.”

”Okay, once he’s done, just come over. By the way, Yang, can you read?”

Yang Chunsheng nodded, ”Director Li, I can read, and I can do arithmetic. I just didn’t go to school; I learned from my mom.”

”That’s fine, as long as you can read. Go ahead and come to work as soon as you can.”

”Mr. Tan, you’ll have to stay for a meal next time you come over.”

Tan Shaoting smiled and nodded, ”Alright, I will.”

This Li Ziwen really helped him a lot too.

After they got in the car, Yang Chunsheng excitedly said, ”Thank you, Xiao Tan.”

”No need to be polite. I remember how well you treated Yuanyuan. Do your best here.”

”I will, I definitely will.” Of course, he would give his best; for a young farmer, this opportunity was like winning the lottery.

”I’m going to the building for a bit.”

Yang Chunsheng heard Yuanyuan asking Xiao Tan to buy something.

After Tan Shaoting got out of the car, Yang Chunsheng waited inside.

He bought twenty pounds of pastries, estimating that the Yang mother and son would leave tomorrow, so it was something to take back to them.

Then he bought five packs of milk powder, left one at home, and gave them four packs to take back, two packs for each family.

Once he finished shopping, he hurriedly drove back home.

When they got home, Su Yuanyuan and the others had just finished eating.

”Mom, Mom, I got a job. And it’s a full-time job.”

Yang Chunsheng excitedly held Hu Chunhua’s hand, feeling so happy.

Hu Chunhua was even happier, never expecting that just after one visit, her youngest son would have a job.

”Good, good, thank you, Xiao Tan.”

”Aunt, it’s nothing. I didn’t expect it to work out either.”

Su Yuanyuan thought about cooking dumplings for everyone, just like the meal they had.

The two men’s appetites were impressive, finishing the dishes and the leftover dumplings.

”Are you full? How about I make some egg pancakes?”

Yang Chunsheng let out a satisfied burp, ”I’m full, really full.”

Tan Shaoting nodded, ”Yuanyuan, no need to go, I’m full too.

Aunt, you all stay here. I need to go to work.” He didn’t go in the morning, so he went in early in the afternoon.

The three children were napping, so the three of them went to the west room.

Yang Chunsheng talked about the process of getting to the factory.

”Yuanyuan, rest assured, I definitely won’t let Xiao Tan lose face. I’ll work hard.”

”Yeah, work hard, maybe you can even become a supervisor.”

”Yuanyuan, should we leave today? I need to prepare things for Chunsheng back home.”

”Aunt, let Chunsheng go back himself. Bring the documents, and I have luggage here, no need to bring them from home.”

”No, no, we have new cotton at home. I’ll go back and make luggage for him.

Seeing you’re well, I’m at ease, but I still worry about home.”

Hu Chunhua really doesn’t separate from Yang Minggang often and truly misses him.

”That’s fine. I know you miss Uncle.”

Hu Chunhua laughed, ”Indeed, I really worry about him.”

”Then leave tomorrow. I’ll drive you to the train station.”

Hu Chunhua thought for a moment and nodded, ”Okay, let’s leave tomorrow morning. Yuanyuan, let Chunsheng go directly to the enamel factory; it’s not convenient to come to your place.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, ”Okay, Chunsheng, you know the way, right?”

”I know, Xiao Tan already told me which bus to take.”

”Great, when you have free time, come over to this side.”

Since they decided to leave, Su Yuanyuan prepared twenty pounds of pastries, ten pounds for each family, two bags of milk powder for each family, and five pounds of sausage for one family.

”I’ll take the pastries and milk powder back, but you keep the sausage, Qi Wen loves it.”

”Aunt, we still have some at home, don’t worry.”

”We don’t need it; we still have two pigs that haven’t been slaughtered.”

They had dumplings again at night, and Zhang Yaohan stayed for dinner.

The homemade food was really delicious. He had to cheekily stay for it.

Early the next morning, Su Yuanyuan drove Hu Chunhua and her son to the train station. Along the way, she gave Yang Chunsheng some advice, watched them buy tickets, and then drove to the building.

She divided the pastries between the two families; there needed to be some at home to eat, especially since the three kids would often have a little piece after school.

The pastries now were reassuring to eat, so Su Yuanyuan was also happy to buy them for everyone.

This time, she also bought twenty pounds of pastries and a few more bags of milk powder. She didn’t buy anything else since she was out and the kids were home alone; she couldn’t relax if she wasn’t there.

If the kids weren’t in front of her, she felt uneasy.

Back home, she saw the three kids were attentively attending class, which put her at ease.

As for Hu Chunhua and her son, after getting off the bus, they walked home directly. There was no way to inform the family to pick them up.

Luckily, they ran into an ox cart from the neighboring village halfway, saving them some effort.

Yang Chunsheng had a restrained smile and excitement on his face.

After getting off the cart, the mother and son walked towards the village.

”Chunsheng, don’t say that Tan Shaoting found you this job.”

”Mom, even if we don’t say it, the ones who need to know will know. Everyone knows you went to the capital to see Yuanyuan, and then I got a job after coming back. Won’t people think about it?”

Hu Chunhua sighed, really worried about causing trouble for Yuanyuan.

”Mom, it’s just the Su Family. They ask for the address, but we won’t tell them.”

”Alright. That’s how it is then. Chunsheng, you must do well outside. If there’s someone suitable, find yourself a wife.

I was even thinking of introducing someone to you after some time.”

”Mom, I’m not in a rush.”

”Are you really not in a rush? If there’s a suitable girl outside, you should be proactive. But remember your own status; even if you’re a full-time worker now, our family is just country folks from outside.”

”Mom, I know, don’t worry.

I want to find a wife, someone I feel comfortable with, but she must be kind. I don’t want every day to be filled with anger and fights.”

”Yes, as long as you have your own ideas.”

When the mother and son got home, no one was there; there was still work in the fields, like bringing back corn stalks and sweet potato vines.

”Mom, I’m going to the fields to find Dad and the others.”

”Go ahead. I’ll rest at home for a bit.” Taking the bus was more tiring than working.

Yang Chunsheng changed his clothes and ran to the fields. As he ran, he couldn’t help but smile foolishly.

Now that he was alone, he could laugh freely; in front of others, he didn’t want to show his excitement too much.
