My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 500: Chapter 223: Mirror Gazing

Even the Sect wouldn’t dare to trigger it rashly!

’...All I wanted to do was retrace the path my master and the others took back then. Who would have thought it would lead to something so terrifying?’

Qin Fang found it unbelievable.

And now, two of the Sect’s Hall Masters had already decided to station themselves there...

The ’Master Xing’ and ’Master Duan’ his Master had mentioned.

Master Xing was the Nine Hell Hall Master, ’Xing Wu’.

And Master Duan was the Hall Master Wuhui, ’Duan Wuya’.

’...With two Hall Masters holding down the fort, it should be very difficult for the Three Religions to stir up any trouble under these circumstances.’

’Moreover, the Sect was planning to contact the sects from other prefectures to resolve this matter together...’

’...It should be fine, right?’

Qin Fang thought to himself.

”If you hadn’t discovered that Ancient Well this time, and if the Three Religions had been allowed to finish their preparations, I’m afraid things would have gotten out of hand. Your Master Xuan intends to reward you with one hundred thousand contribution points.”

his Master added.

Qin Fang was stunned. He hesitated, ”I only discovered it by chance... That doesn’t really count as a merit, does it?”

”How could it not count? Don’t you know that luck is a form of strength? It doesn’t matter how you found it; the point is that you found it. Otherwise, if the Sect remained unaware and that Ancient Well had erupted, the death toll would likely have been in the hundreds of thousands!”

His Master, however, just smiled and waved his hand dismissively. ”Your Master Xuan is the Sect Leader. When it comes to contribution points, what he says goes. Why are you being so polite with him?”

Hearing this, Qin Fang could only bow and say, ”Alright... Then my thanks to Master Xuan.”

’...To think, just today I was complaining that the Spiritual Sense Leaf Skill and the Concentrating Iron Heart Jade were too expensive, costing me a hundred thousand.’

’And just like that, I’ve made it all back.’

’It’s like I got them for free!’

’...Sweet.’

Thinking of this, Qin Fang took a deep breath, bowed, and said, ”Master, there is something I must report to you.”

”Hm?” His Master paused with his teacup in hand, then nodded. ”Go on.”

”I... wish to begin practicing the Spiritual Sense Leaf Skill.”

Qin Fang said respectfully.

Unexpectedly, his Master only paused for a moment before nodding lightly. ”Alright.”

”Huh?” Qin Fang froze, looking at his Master in confusion...

’...But he had prepared a whole speech to persuade his Master!’

’And this was his Master’s... only reaction?’

”I’m very happy that you chose to tell me... Actually, your Master Zhou already told me. I received his message as soon as I arrived in Lanyang City.”

Seeing Qin Fang’s dazed expression, his Master showed a rare smile. ”Everything you said to your Master Zhou, he told me as well... I suppose he was trying to persuade me on your behalf.”

”But really, what was the need for his persuasion?” his Master said with a laugh. ”The Path of Spiritual Sense is certainly perilous. But if a Martial Artist avoids it entirely, their weakness becomes too obvious. Even I, your Master, have practiced the Contemplation of a Spiritual Sense Leaf Skill.”

Qin Fang was stunned.

”I repeatedly warned you and the other disciples about the dangers of the Path of Spiritual Sense before... because if one delves into it too deeply, it is indeed exceedingly dangerous. The slightest misstep can have irreversible consequences.”

”However, once mastered, the Path of Spiritual Sense is undeniably devastating in combat, even allowing one to slay foes in desperate situations... Ordinary disciples lack the self-control. After witnessing the power of the Path of Spiritual Sense, they can’t help but want to delve deeper. But due to insufficient Talent or an impatient mind, they end up causing a catastrophe.”

”But you are different.”

His Master looked at Qin Fang, not bothering to hide the satisfaction in his eyes. ”Your disposition is calm and steady, far beyond your peers. When faced with a situation, you know when to advance and when to retreat, and you understand the stakes. You don’t have an ounce of the recklessness and impulsiveness typical of a genius your age... Whether it was encountering the Ji Ai Old Ghost, seeing your old acquaintance last time, or even discovering the Ancient Well this time... your performance has been very satisfactory.”

”It shows that you are well aware of the risks involved.”

”You know when to press forward and when to fall back.”

”With such a temperament, even if you venture into the world of Divine Sense, I believe you will be cautious every step of the way. You won’t recklessly chase achievements and end up damaging your foundation.”

”Under these circumstances, even if you hadn’t brought it up, I would have required you to find a Spiritual Sense Leaf Skill to practice once you reached the True Gang or Guizhen Realm.”

”Not to kill enemies, but for self-preservation.”

”Since you’ve already realized this on your own and clearly recognize that Divine Sense is supplementary while your foundation is primary... what else is there for me to worry about?”

his Master said with a smile.

Qin Fang was stunned, then felt a little embarrassed...

”You flatter me, Master...”

”HA HA HA, flatter you? You’re my disciple, don’t you think I know you?” his Master roared with laughter.

Then, looking at Qin Fang encouragingly, he smiled and said, ”Go ahead and cultivate with confidence. If you are certain, then even the ’Nine Tribulations God Refining Chapter’ is not impossible to cultivate!... However, the lesson from a predecessor’s failure is right before you. You must grasp the proper measure yourself.”

His Master’s words made Qin Fang’s scalp tingle and his throat feel tight.

Looking at his kind Master, Qin Fang could only take a deep breath, suppress the warm current surging in his heart, and say respectfully, ”Rest assured, Master. I... will not let you down!”

”HA HA HA, that’s good.”

His Master smiled and nodded.

The master and disciple chatted for a while longer. Finally, his Master replenished Qin Fang’s War Gang Avatar one more time.

This made Qin Fang a little worried...

Seeing his expression, his Master knew what he was thinking and chuckled. ”It’s only for a few months. The situation hasn’t yet reached the point where I, your Master, need to risk my life. Comparatively, your safety is more important... Alright, stop being so sentimental. Go on now.”

A warm current surged in Qin Fang’s heart. In the end, he could only bow in thanks to his Master before taking his leave.

...Of course, as he was leaving, his Master also gave him a word of warning, stating that the situation at the Ancient Well was still unclear and that Qin Fang should not go there recklessly.
