My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 390: Chapter 186: Confession

Fan Zhengchu asked Qin Fang a few more things about his discoveries at True Martial. Qin Fang held nothing back and only left the grand hall after answering everything.

”I never would have thought, Junior Brother, that you’d encountered such dangers on your journey...”

Wen Suxin looked at Qin Fang, a pang of heartache in her eyes.

’To have come all this way, from a refugee to where he is now... one can only imagine what Qin Fang must have gone through.’

Qin Fang, however, didn’t seem to mind. He smiled faintly. ”I’m actually much luckier than most. At least I’m still alive, and living better than many... I have the Sect and its elders to protect me, and a Senior Sister who cares about me... The past is in the past. It’s nothing.”

Wen Suxin was taken aback for a moment, then she too smiled and gently patted Qin Fang’s shoulder, saying no more.

That day, after returning to his residence, his Master surprisingly paid him a personal visit that evening.

He also asked Qin Fang for some details, especially concerning the expert at the Seventh Realm.

After listening, his Master was filled with awe...

A single palm strike, creating a natural disaster.

’What terrifying, world-shaking power was that?’

As his Master was leaving, he told Qin Fang not to worry and to focus on his cultivation. The past was all smoke, he said, and the only right path was to look forward.

Qin Fang acknowledged.

Afterward, Qin Fang returned to his initial cultivation routine, practicing his Root Skill and refining his Leaf Skills every day.

At the same time, he was waiting for news...

...His Master had promised to mobilize the Sect’s power to help him find the whereabouts of his old Master and the others.

But one month, two months, three months passed...

And still, there was no news.

Qin Fang’s heart gradually sank.

’My old Master and the others... they might really have been killed.’

During this time, the Sect also dispatched people to Cuilan County to wipe out the Blood Luo Sect there.

In the end, they found Cuilan County completely deserted.

...Even the Blood Beasts had vanished.

No one knew where they had fled.

The Sect mobilized the power of the Court and was also in pursuit.

But for now, there was no word.

In the blink of an eye, a year had passed since Qin Fang joined the sect.

In that year, Qin Fang’s progress was incredibly rapid. His Three Great Leaf Skills had all reached Great Success, and his strength had undergone an earth-shattering improvement.

After reaching Great Success, Mirror Flower Water Moon possessed even greater combat value. A single flash could cover several hundred meters, its movements unpredictable. He had integrated his Divine Sense into it, allowing him to leave behind a True Essence afterimage for the space of a breath, enough to confuse his enemies.

The Great Success stage of his Nine-Layered Abyss Water Armor had condensed four layers, and he was now developing the Fifth Layer...

His Physique naturally grew stronger in the process. His pure physical strength had reached 120,000 pounds!

...This was undoubtedly a terrifying figure.

Adding the Great Success stage of Celestial River Reversal, with its nine-fold amplification, meant he could instantaneously unleash a terrifying burst of power exceeding 220,000 pounds!

...That was equivalent to the power of a medium-sized excavator!

The power of a medium-sized excavator, concentrated in a single person... one could only imagine how terrifying that was.

And just what level had Qin Fang’s Physique reached?

...Unfortunately, the atmosphere within the Heavenly Gang Wuji Sect was too peaceful. He was the Hall Master’s True Inheritance disciple and a Scripture Lecturer at the Tempering Martial Hall... Most notably, his theory of the Third Realm had successively helped at least several hundred Huajin Stage Inner Sect Disciples break through to the Realm of True Essence!

His reputation among the sect elders and disciples was growing ever higher.

...The result was that while his strength had increased, he had no opportunity to use it.

...He hadn’t fought a single person.

It made his hands itch for a real fight.

...Having all this power with no chance to use it... It was a bit of a shame.

’My Three Great Leaf Skills have all reached Great Success, but this Root Skill... its progress is a bit slow.’

He was now earning an average of about 25,000 contribution points per month.

But since the Leaf Skills provided the biggest boost to his combat ability, his focus had been on improving them.

The Root Skill’s progress was a little slow.

A year had passed, and it still hadn’t reached Great Success; it was still at Minor Achievement.

However, his proficiency had reached 3,486, so Great Success wasn’t too far off.

’...Being able to cultivate it only once a day, and only taking a True Essence Pill every few days... making this much progress is actually quite amazing.’

After all, according to his previous calculations... even if he took a True Essence Pill every single day, it would still take him nearly two years to reach Perfection.

’But I’ve also discovered a limitation when using the Leaf Skills recently... my True Essence can’t quite keep up. Otherwise, the variations of Mirror Flower Water Moon would be more numerous, its speed would be faster, and the duration of my Flying would be longer...’

It was the same for the other two Leaf Skills.

This discovery gave Qin Fang a deeper understanding of the complementary nature of the Root Skill and Leaf Skills.

Leaf Skills were powerful, but if detached from a Root Skill, they were like a tree without roots, unable to last long.

The Root Skill determined the total amount of True Essence, but without Leaf Skills, one couldn’t bring out its maximum effect.

The root cannot leave the leaf, and the leaf cannot leave the root... only then can a Martial Artist improve without any weaknesses.

’It’s been a year, and there’s still no news of my old Master. It seems he’s likely been killed...’

Every time Qin Fang thought of his old Master, his Master’s wife, and his senior brothers, his eyes would dim, and a sharp pain would pierce his heart.

’Without my old Master, where would I, Qin Fang, be today?’

He still kept the letter his old Master had written to him all those years ago.

Occasionally, he would take it out to read, and his heart would ache.

It was as if he was transported back to the New Year of that year.

He pressed his lips together tightly and finally made a decision.

’It’s about time to go back to Old Ox Back.’

He took a deep breath, planning to go into seclusion at Old Ox Back.

After a year, he had now firmly established himself in the Heavenly Gang Wuji Sect.

’Leaving now won’t be a big problem!’

With this thought, he immediately set off to find his Master.

...As a True Inheritance disciple, he would naturally need his Master’s approval to leave for a period of time.
