My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 324: Chapter 164: Martial Arts Examination

When Qin Fang heard the commotion and rushed to the Martial Arts Training Ground, he found it was already a sea of people.

A large number of Martial Artists from D Building were gathered at the Martial Arts Training Ground. Each one of them looked thrilled, rubbing their hands together with bright, shining eyes, appearing exceptionally excited.

”My goal is to make it to the second round... If I get to the second round, I’ll at least have a chance to get on the tournament stage. As long as I put on a good show, I could easily get noticed by one of the major powers. Then, I’ll have earned the right to stay in Lanyang City!”

”Yeah, you can live in D Building indefinitely, but it’s expensive... A standard room in D Building is free for the first year, but after that, it costs over a thousand silver a year...”

Someone sighed and shook their head.

Over a thousand silver a year!

That was an amount most people could not afford.

Ordinary People in the counties and villages probably spent less than ten silver a year.

...Fortunately, all these people were Martial Artists at the Anjin Realm or higher.

In Lanyang City, that didn’t mean much, but in a county or out in the countryside... they would be considered a somebody.

Take Wang Long, for example. Wasn’t his net worth over one or two thousand silver?

Most of the people in D Building were stronger than Wang Long.

Naturally, their personal fortunes were also considerable.

However... a Martial Artist’s cultivation was also immensely expensive.

Qin Fang had spent at least ten thousand silver to cultivate to the Anjin Realm... and that was with a large amount of free Bee Meat included.

It was the same for these people.

And now they were in Lanyang City... lacking any way to earn money, they could only live off their savings.

Therefore, the price of a thousand silver a year was still extremely steep for them.

Amid the clamor, Qin Fang swept his gaze across the crowd and spotted Qian Ruhai.

Qian Ruhai spotted Qin Fang as well and quickly called out a greeting. Qin Fang walked over to him.

On his way, quite a few people noticed Qin Fang and hurried to greet him.

”Young Master Qin.”

”Young Master Qin.”

Qin Fang smiled and returned their greetings one by one. They automatically cleared a path, allowing Qin Fang to easily reach Qian Ruhai’s side.

...Lin Chen was there, too.

Seeing Qin Fang, he nodded in acknowledgment.

...Through Qian Ruhai, Qin Fang and Lin Chen had interacted quite a bit. This Young Master Lin didn’t seem to be a man of many words.

But he was a decent person.

At least Qin Fang didn’t dislike him.

”After a three-month wait, the Martial Arts Examination is finally about to begin. Brother Qin, you’re sure to dazzle everyone and make a name for yourself this time.”

Qian Ruhai said with a smile.

Qin Fang, confident in his abilities, wasn’t fazed. He smiled, raised an eyebrow, and said, ”Didn’t you say you weren’t participating in the Martial Arts Examination? So why are you here?”

”I’m just not participating in the *entire* Martial Arts Examination. But as for this kind of lively event... I’m more than happy to join in on the fun.”

Qian Ruhai produced a folding fan from somewhere and began to fan himself, a smile on his chubby face.

Qin Fang raised an eyebrow, smiled, but said nothing.

...Having chatted idly with Qian Ruhai often during this period, he was already familiar with the process of the Martial Arts Examination.

The entire Martial Arts Examination was divided into three stages and would last for about ten days.

The first round was the preliminaries.

The second round was the arena tournament.

The third round was an aptitude assessment.

During these ten days, contestants could choose to withdraw from the competition at any time.

As long as they withdrew, their results would not be recorded.

...If Qian Ruhai just wanted to watch the fun, he could indeed withdraw at any time.

As Qin Fang’s gaze swept about, he quickly spotted an acquaintance. He raised his eyebrows and gave the person a smile.

Dressed in golden robes, Xue Yi shot Qin Fang a disdainful look before averting his gaze...

Although he hadn’t been causing trouble for Qin Fang lately, it didn’t mean the previous incident was forgotten.

...After being extorted out of eight thousand silver, no one would be happy to see the culprit.

Qin Fang paid Xue Yi’s reaction no mind, his gaze continuing to sweep across the crowd.

Soon, he saw Fu Chen, Liu Rushi, Han Wang, Shen Han, and the others...

As for Qin Fang, they were all at a loss for words and weren’t keen on interacting with him.

Beyond them, Qin Fang also spotted some unfamiliar faces with powerful auras...

In truth, there were some people in the Post House who were even stronger than Shen Han and his group.

They were the ones thought to have a ninety-percent chance of securing one of the twelve seats.

But Qin Fang had never dealt with them.

...After all, since they were practically guaranteed to get one of the twelve seats, why would they care about one more competitor?

Of course, having lived here for nearly three months, they had at least seen each other around.

Qin Fang had asked Qian Ruhai about their origins. They were basically all heirs of Lanyang City’s Divine Families, almost all of them with Huajin Cultivation. Their Martial Arts Realm had, for the most part, touched upon the Third Realm... some had even reached the Third Realm.

Their situation was different from Qin Fang’s. They themselves were heirs of Divine Families with powerful forces backing them. Coupled with their own astonishing strength and talent... they basically stood at the very pinnacle of the secular circles of the Divine Families.

...Shen Han and his group could barely be considered part of the same circle as these individuals, but in reality, they rarely associated with one another.

Don’t be fooled by the seemingly small gap. As long as those people participated in the Martial Arts Examination, they were practically guaranteed one of the twelve seats, and they might not even be thirty years old yet...

This tiny gap was sometimes the difference between the clouds and the mud...

Qin Fang, however, was naturally feeling extremely relaxed.

...For him, a True Essence Realm Martial Artist who had broken through the Divine Gate, to compete on the same stage as these people...

’To be honest, it’s a bit like bullying them.’

The crowd swelled, soon exceeding several thousand and packing the Martial Arts Training Ground to the brim. All one could see was a dense, dark sea of heads...

It might only have been a few thousand, but one had to remember that these thousands were all Martial Artists at the Anjin Realm or higher!

In a single county, the number of Anjin Martial Artists rarely exceeded fifty.

As for the Huajin Realm, that went without saying... True Martial, for instance, had only produced three in over forty years...

Just then, a squad of Black Armored Soldiers suddenly approached. At the sight of them, the crowd subconsciously fell silent.
