My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 307: Chapter 158: Malicious

He wore a look of utter admiration.

Qin Fang raised an eyebrow. He looked at the man, a thought suddenly occurring to him. Squinting with a smile, he asked, ”What’s your name? You’re from D Building, right?”

Wang Qi’s eyes lit up even more. He quickly replied, ”I-I’m called Wang Qi, from D-D Building!”

”Wang Qi...”

Qin Fang froze for a moment. He was, without a doubt, reminded of Xiao Qi.

’Their names were so alike...’

But he quickly came to his senses. He let out a soft breath and, with another squinting smile, suddenly asked, ”Wang Qi, how would you feel about... living in A Courtyard for a bit?”

At first, Wang Qi was dumbfounded. Then, he was just confused.

”Huh?”

...

”You’re saying... you want... to challenge him?”

Li Yao stared wide-eyed at Wang Qi, then glanced at the squinting, smiling Qin Fang behind him. His mind was struggling to keep up.

Wang Qi’s expression was stiff, and his heart was pounding. He subconsciously turned to look at Qin Fang. Seeing Qin Fang give him an encouraging smile, he swallowed hard, gritted his teeth, and said, ”Y-Yes... I... I want to challenge him!”

Li Yao was speechless.

He looked at Wang Qi, then back at Qin Fang... How could he not understand what was going on?

’The Hundred Households said that if someone from an Upper Courtyard challenges a Lower Courtyard, the one from the Lower Courtyard most likely won’t get demoted.’

’So, you first get yourself demoted to a Lower Courtyard... and then challenge your opponent from there?’

Li Yao was getting a massive headache...

”Chief Li, these are the rules of the Post House, aren’t they? The man wants to challenge me, so please go ahead and make the arrangements.”

Qin Fang said with a laugh.

Li Yao fell silent. A moment later, he let out a helpless sigh.

’There was nothing to be done. It was indeed a Post House regulation. What could he do about it?’

”I understand... Come in.”

He sighed and waved Wang Qi inside.

Wang Qi was stiff as a board, but he gritted his teeth and finished filling out the challenge slip.

Seeing him finish, Qin Fang smiled. ”Alright, now I’d like to issue a challenge as well.”

Li Yao was already numb to it all. He simply nodded as Qin Fang went over and filled out his own challenge slip.

’He had submitted his slip after Wang Qi’s, so chronologically, his match against Wang Qi would be first.’

”Thanks for your trouble, Chief Li.”

Qin Fang said with a smile, then gave a wave and gestured for Wang Qi to leave with him.

”Y-Young Master Qin... I...” Wang Qi felt like he was in a daze, as if walking through a dream.

’All he’d done was go for a casual stroll after dinner. How had he ended up in a situation like this?’

’Challenging someone from A Courtyard?’

He’d never even considered challenging someone from C Courtyard!

’The last time, Brother Shen was the one who had his eye on Qin Fang, not him!’

’He was just an errand boy!’

’How could a mere Mid-Anjin Stage practitioner like him ever dare to dream of fighting a Huajin Martial Artist?’

And now, now...

Qin Fang smiled and patted his shoulder. ”Relax, it’s nothing. I really have to thank you for this.”

Wang Qi didn’t know what to say.

Qin Fang was already smiling. ”Well then... I’ll see you tomorrow.”

”S-See you tomorrow...”

Wang Qi stood there in a stupor as Qin Fang turned and walked away.

Wang Qi practically staggered back to D Building. The moment he entered his room, his roommates, Brother Shen and a man with a scarred face, spotted him.

Brother Shen was about to say something, but he stopped, stunned for a moment by Wang Qi’s soul-crushed appearance.

”Qi’er, where did you... huh? What’s the matter?”

The man with the scarred face beside Brother Shen had looked up and spotted Wang Qi. He’d been about to ask where he had gone, but he noticed Wang Qi’s unusual state and stopped, asking in bewilderment.

Wang Qi seemed to snap out of a dream. He sat down on his bed. After a long moment, he said numbly, ”I... I went and issued a challenge.”

”Issued a challenge?”

Brother Shen and the scarred-faced man were both a bit stunned and exchanged a look.

”What kind of challenge? Who are you challenging?”

Both of them looked astonished.

They knew Wang Qi’s Cultivation, of course. He was only at the Mid-Anjin Stage...

’Issuing a challenge?’

’To have to issue a formal challenge, that basically means you’re challenging someone from an Upper Courtyard, right?’

’Does Wang Qi want to challenge someone from C Courtyard?’

The two of them were completely baffled.

Wang Qi said numbly, ”Qin Fang...”

”Hm?” At first, the two were just confused, but then the meaning slowly sank in. Brother Shen’s eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets.

”You’re telling me... you challenged Qin Fang?!”

The entire room was stunned into silence...

...

「Meanwhile.」

”What did you say?!”

Inside B Courtyard, Shen Han’s face turned black as thunder when he heard the report. He was utterly dumbfounded.

Then, his face suddenly twisted, and his eyes seemed to spew fire. ”How dare he?!!!”

BANG!!!

The table in front of him shattered into pieces under his palm.

The reporting Black Armored Soldier kept his head down, not daring to speak.

A frantic killing intent also flashed in the eyes of his two maids.

”Young Master, I’ll go kill him tonight!!”

The maid named Mo Zhu had an overwhelming killing intent in her eyes.

This is going too far!!!

This is truly going too far!!!

He already challenged once today, and now he’s going to challenge again tomorrow?!

Does that bastard really see the Shen Family as nothing?!

An unprecedented sense of humiliation flooded Shen Han’s heart.

”Kill him! Go and kill him tonight!!!”

He growled in fury.

He was ready to throw all caution to the wind.

But the other maid grabbed him and whispered, ”Young Master, I... I know you’re furious, and so am I... but don’t forget our goal: the Twelve Seats... The Master has high hopes for you to enter the Twelve Seats. That Qin Fang’s death would be no great loss, but if we make a move in the Post House... setting aside whether we could even kill him, you would certainly lose your qualification for the Martial Arts Examination! Is it worth it, for a low-born nobody like him?”

Shen Han’s eyes were bloodshot. ”Then what?! Just let him humiliate me like this?!”

He was about to go insane.

He had already become the biggest laughingstock among the great families today! Years of maintaining his reputation, all lost in a single day!

And now...

That Qin Fang actually intended to humiliate him again, and again...

How could he possibly endure this?

How could he?!

The maid grew anxious. She could only try to soothe him in a low voice, begging him not to do anything reckless...

At the same time, the news spread to every well-informed courtyard.
