My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 35: Chapter 33: Uproar

”Wha-what’s going on? A murder?”

”Where?”

It had to be said, the john’s shriek was shrill. Its Penetration Power was so strong that, in the middle of the night, it startled everyone in the entire courtyard.

Doors to many rooms in the courtyard opened, revealing a series of shocked faces. A low buzz of discussion rose from them.

Amid the panic, a group of men suddenly rushed over from the front courtyard. The leader was a thin, middle-aged man. He strode up to the panicked customer and asked in a low voice, ”What’s going on? Where was the murder?”

”The latrine! The latrine! There’s a body!”

The john stammered in reply, his face looking pale even under the glow of the red lanterns.

The middle-aged man shot a look at the men beside him, then said in a deep voice, ”Everyone, please don’t panic. We’ll take a look first.”

After this brief reassurance, he led his men toward the latrine.

Soon, a body was carried out by several men.

Seeing the corpse, every one of the johns sucked in a sharp breath.

”Someone really died?!”

”Fuck, what’s going on?”

”Who died?”

The people buzzed with discussion.

Qin Fang was in the crowd, his brows tightly furrowed. The moment he saw that group of men, he knew this was bad.

Clearly, as a famous local brothel, Lan Gui Fang must have a powerful backer.

Otherwise, how could a den of debauchery like a brothel possibly stay in business?

The leader didn’t look like someone to be trifled with. Despite his thin frame, his eyes were sharp and full of spirit. He acted with swift decisiveness, calming the panicked customers with just a few words.

And this situation was clearly not to his advantage.

Just then, Qin Fang’s expression shifted. He saw that the doors to the rooms of his other two targets had also opened. Wuzi Zhang and the other target both appeared at their doorways, looking surprised as they watched from the back of the crowd.

Qin Fang’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He observed for a moment and noticed that the courtesans from the two rooms hadn’t come out.

They were most likely still inside, getting dressed.

Qin Fang turned his head. Not far away, the group of men was examining the body, and more people were continuously streaming in from the front courtyard.

They were all guards from Lan Gui Fang.

He feared that in just a little while, they would have the crowd’s mood under control.

At that point, they would surely be on high alert.

’Setting aside the problem of whether I’ll be discovered... I’ll definitely lose my chance to kill the two targets.’

’In that case...’

Qin Fang was extremely decisive. Without a moment’s hesitation, a handful of Darts appeared in his hand. Taking advantage of the lingering chaos and the fact that everyone’s attention was fixed on the corpse, he hunched over and moved toward his two targets.

”Who’s the one who died?”

”Who dares to kill someone in Lan Gui Fang? Don’t they know the Money Gang is behind it?”

The buzz of discussion filled his ears.

He still had two targets left. One was, of course, Wuzi Zhang, and the other was a man nicknamed ’Short-legged Tang’.

As his nickname suggested, the man was short. He had come out rather late after hearing the commotion and was now standing on his tiptoes, trying to see over the wall of people.

”Who the hell got themselves killed?”

He had a curious look on his face.

Suddenly, a shadow fell over him, making him pause. He looked up instinctively. Someone was standing in his way.

”Fuck, why the hell are you so tall?”

His face was full of displeasure. Because he was short, he hated tall people.

And the person before him was much taller. Even hunched over, he was more than a head taller than Tang.

But this was Lan Gui Fang. Even though he was a member of the Iron Tiger Gang, he didn’t dare to offend people recklessly. Who knew what kind of background this person had?

Although annoyed, he still subconsciously took a step back, planning to wait for the person to pass before moving forward to see the spectacle.

But just then, his vision suddenly blurred. The next moment, he felt a sharp weapon instantly plunge into the front of his neck!

SHLICK!

After the soft sound, his entire body went rigid. The next moment, he felt himself being embraced, his head pressed firmly against the other person’s chest.

His eyes flew wide. Before he could even speak, he felt the sharp weapon being pulled from his neck, only for it to plunge back in the next instant.

SHLICK! SHLICK!

After three or four consecutive stabs, his body had gone completely rigid.

Then, he felt his body being supported as the person thoughtfully pushed him to the edge of the room, propping him up against the wall.

Short-legged Tang wanted to speak, but his neck had been repeatedly stabbed. His throat and windpipe had been mangled into a bloody pulp, making it impossible to produce any sound.

Just like that, the person left.

Short-legged Tang stood there, dazed and rigid, without even the strength to clutch his neck. He watched blankly as the man walked away.

’Who was that?’

’Why kill me?’

He hadn’t even seen the other person’s face.

The crowd’s attention was completely captivated by the distant corpse. Absolutely no one noticed anything unusual about him in their midst.

A few vicious stabs had ensured the target was dead and couldn’t make a sound. Qin Fang quickly moved on to Wuzi Zhang.

...his final target for this trip.

Wuzi Zhang was also looking toward the corpse. Just as his curiosity was piqued, a voice suddenly called out from near the body.

”It’s Liu Sangun’er from the Iron Tiger Gang!”

Among the Lan Gui Fang guards who had arrived later, someone had apparently recognized Liu Sangun’er.

After all, True Martial County wasn’t that big. The local thugs and hooligans had a limited area of activity, so it was normal for people to recognize each other.

When Wuzi Zhang heard Liu Sangun’er’s name, his expression changed instantly.

’What?’

’Liu Sangun’er??’

’He’s dead??’

Wuzi Zhang looked stunned. Then, almost instinctively, he turned his head, looking for his other companion, Short-legged Tang.

He knew which room Tang was in, so he saw him the moment he turned.

But the instant he saw him, his eyes widened...

Short-legged Tang was standing against the wall, but a large amount of blood was flowing from his mouth and neck. His head was slumped powerlessly, and his body was slowly sliding down the wall...

’Short-legged Tang?!’

Wuzi Zhang’s pupils contracted violently.

But before his shock could subside, he suddenly heard a faint sound of something cutting through the air. The next instant, something pierced his neck.

SHLICK!

His whole body went stiff, and he instinctively turned his head.

And then, he saw a very familiar face.

The person’s expression was calm, but their eyes were cold and sharp.

’It’s... him?!’

Wuzi Zhang’s eyes bulged.

He wanted to speak, but blood gurgled up from his throat into his mouth, forming bloody bubbles.

SHLICK! SHLICK!

The person pulled out the weapon and stabbed him two or three more times in the same spot, completely robbing him of his ability to scream.

Then the person retreated, disappearing into the crowd.

THUD...

Wuzi Zhang’s body fell limply to the ground. Blood poured from his mouth and nose as his whole body convulsed. He looked toward the crowd, wanting to say something, but was unable to make a single sound.

In the crowd, Qin Fang took a deep breath. Then, a shrill scream tore through the night sky.

”Another-another murder!! The-the killer is still here! He’s killing indiscriminately!!!!”

BOOM!

”What?!”

”The killer is killing indiscriminately?!”

”AHHH!!”

”Someone else really died!!!!”

Seeing the body, the crowd that had gathered to watch the commotion instantly dissolved into chaos.
